  1. instead of saving it -

suggest you 'print to pdf' instead.

so, get a pdf print driver. I like CutePDF very much - is easy to install and use. See http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp

When you are finished with the I-130, filling it out, print it to PDF file , then you can email the pdf file ...

The thing bigdog mentioned about print and scan, IMO, is a waste of paper and electricity, and really smacks of low-tech.

    Hello,

I already downloaded the cutepdf and trying to follow your instructions but I can't seem to get it :)

I couldn't find the print to pdf file.

Help will greatly be appreciated :)

    Thanks

  2. Does she speak Ilocano? If she does than no problem getting a job. But still it depends on her job skills and education level. I live on Kauai, so I am not to sure about Oahu. It is about 800 to 1500 for rents here. If you don't mind living with other Filipinos, than it can be cheaper. It is just that things cost alot more here esp gas and electric. Also she may adapt easier to the Asian culture here than you, so that can be a concern as well.

    Hi!

My fiance lives in Kauai too :)

  3. nice I'll try xoom next time. All my credit cards have my zip different so I think putting the wrong zip in is causing me problems :(

    Hello :)

If it's not so much to ask could you use our referral code when you sign up for xoom?

    http://refer.xoom.com/a/clk/2gb2QN

After your first transaction we will both receive a 15$ gift card from xoom.

    Thank you so much

    Also,

    Promo code for March is:

    MARCHON

    :)

  4. Xoom beats Paypal Account hands down. Do NOT use Paypal unless you hold a Visa Credit card WITH expiration date and security code on the back.

We transferred US$300 via Paypal but Juliet has only a bank debit card, not a true Visa Credit card and essentially the money is stuck there. She could get a different bank account with a high minimum deposit but in frustration we'll just send the money back to me Steve but in doing so we lose the currency translation charge (about 2.5% each way) plus the fees.

    Beware of Paypal.

You can look up Xoom's first time coupon code by searching for xoom coupon code and get one free transfer saving you $4.99 (you will still make them money as they exchange your currency into peso) or use Matt & Noeme's link in which case you will pay the $4.99 but get a $15 gift card.

Perhaps there should be a thread for Xoom referrals so that the savings to both parties can be spread around?

    Hello Juliet $ Steve,

Yes, I agree. Btw, we use coupon code every time we send money. 3times tops. After using the code of the month, you can use it again by putting the number 2 at the end of the code.

  5. Hello,

    :)

For those who are planning to send money to the Philippines or other country and haven't signed-up to XOOM but is planning to do so, kindly use po our referral code so we both get $15 gift card. Here is the link:

    http://refer.xoom.com/a/clk/2gb2QN

Also, you can use Xoom coupon code to save the $4.99 transfer fee.

    Thank you very much!

  6. Hello Everyone,

We just checked our I-129F case at the USCIS website and this is what it says:

On November 14, 2012, the post office returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days from November 14, 2012, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application with fee.

Anyone experienced this? We cannot wait till 8AM so we can contact USCIS. We don't know what seems to be the problem :((

  7. Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice and first I will tell you our situation.

In June of 2011, while we were vacationing in The Philippines, my wife opened a savings account at China Bank. The main reason she did this was so that a relative could make deposits for a loan that she gave them. We were supposed to be able to check the balance online in the states.

Our first problem was trying to check the balance while on a Virgin Mobile broadband internet connection. We couldn't get through and were blocked. The next time we tried from my internet service at work and we were able to get through to the server but she forgot the password! We tried 3 different passwords and then the account was "locked" from internet access. We've talked to people at the bank several times and they tell us to get a new password we need to show up in person. Well, that won't happen until late 2013 and I'm hoping the account will still be open by that time.

In the meantime the relative continues to make deposits so I assume the account is still open.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can check her balance? With all the fraud these days I don't blame the bank for requiring an in person appearance with picture ID.

Is there a better bank to open an account with next time?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hello,

Did you use bancnetonline.com to check your china bank balance? The password for that is your 6 digit ATM card PIN. It is not the same with other banks like BPI and BDO wherein you need to nominate a password. Maybe you can try again using a different internet connection/IP address? If your wife still remembers her atm PIN. Since it uses PIN, it is usually impossible to change it by phone unlike BDO and BPI wherein you can just call them and after answering specific questions that would assure them that you are the account holder, you can nominate another password thereby allowing you to do onlinebanking from anywhere.

Also, an account will not be closed as long as it has funds in it still but it will be charged a dormant fee but you said your relatives do deposits in that account so in that case i guess it won't be charged a dormant fee. Your wife's account will surely remain active until your visit next year :)

  8. We have been using Vonage World for almost 2 years now and we are quite happy with it. The reception is very clear unlike MJ. It's a little steep at around $35/monthly including taxes and fees compared to other providers but its worth it. It does not need to be connected to PC and worked well with my fiance's internet provider which is Globelines Wimax.

The OBI seems to be worth checking out. For now, vonage is quite enough for us.

  9. Using two lines is fine as long as it has been addressed correctly, just make sure to keep the copy of the money order, which I am sure you did. As for the address, using USPS means using the PO box so you're good to go. Have a smooth journey.

Thank you very much! :) At first, it didn't make sense to us that its for US Dep of Homeland Security and the address we put in the money order is Dallas lockbox.

  10. Hello everyone,

My fiance just mailed our I-129F packet via USPS Priority mail w/ delivery confirmation. He had to use money order since he cannot use his personal check. Our question is, when he was filling out the money order from USPS, the space for USDHS is so small that he had to make it two lines to fit. This is fine right? We are really paranoid right now. Also, it asked for the address of the recipient, is it okey that he put the PO Box address of the Dallas lockbox facility? We really don't want our packet returned for this reason.

    Any input is much appreciated.

    Thank you.

  11. Hello everyone,

My fiance is about to mail our I-129F packet and just wanted to ask if it was fine that on his G-325A form where it was asking for employment in the past 5 years, he only put US Navy on the space provided and did not place address then put 2003 to present. He was stationed in Italy from 2008-2010 and Hawaii 2010-2012. I am just wondering if this is ok?

    Hoping for reply.

    Thank you..

  12. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,are you in removing conditions process now,,,,i mean for 10years green card...coz mine i added the cellphone in my husband but the billings we receive every month is only the name of my husband

    Hello,

Thank you for the reply. We are still in the process of assembling our I-129F packet.

  13. Hello,

We would like to ask how you guys did your cellphone bills and emails and letters. For cellphone bills, did you print 1-months worth of bills? and which months did you print? For the letter, how many copies of the letters did you include in the packet? The same question goes for the e-mail.

Hoping for a reply. Thank you.
