Your visa information will be sent to your fiancee U.S. Embassy in their country. Next you have to await your interview date. After an approved interview, your fiancee is free to travel to the U.S.

My approved application left U.S.A. on December 31, 2013. How long does it take to reach Ethiopia? Somebody please help...

Ah i see. The thing is we kinda wanted the ceremony in August whilst its still nice rather than later, and also for various other reasons such as people being able to attend in that month but not later in the year. On top of that it doesnt give you very much time to plan, and also once we finally get this thing we want me to get over there asap! Not another wait whilst wedding planning, since being together is paramount..

So our idea was maybe just to not do the legal bit if we dont have the Visa in time, but keep the rest of the plans in place and do the legal part once we have the Visa, obviously I would have to return to the UK till we had the visa too.

Please don't risk it. Be patient, we all have endored.

Call them for an explanation. Don't worry, everything will be alright.

No wild parties and no extrem sports and you should be okay to wait for your husbands insurance. Please don't waste your money. I wish you a safe journey....

In my opinion, by the FIANCEE VISA and MARRIAGE VISA being a little different, I would not set a date just yet. Give you K-1 Visa time to process so you won’t have any grey areas in your visa journey. I wish you the best.

Me and my Ethiopian future wife were approved for our K-1 Visa 12/17/2012. When I recieved the conformation number, it didn't say to much. It told me that, the approval will be sent to her country. I called VSC and they told me she can go to her Consulate Friday 12/28/2012. What should she take? Is this normal?

Not personally, but I know of one case where the petitioner was bed ridden (ie could not travel at all, not even by bus or ship), and the beneficiary tried 4 times over 3 years to get a tourist visa and failed, and they got approved. That is the ONLY case I have ever come across where health was allowed as a meeting requirement waiver.
