    Hello friends!

    I've just mailed our I-751 for my wife. Her green card expires 5/3/16, so I am just after the 60 day mark. I think it should be fine though. Here is what I included as evidence in our filing (taken from the cover sheet).

    • Copies of the passports, drivers license, and green card of SPOUSE.
    • Copy of wedding certificate
    • Two sworn affidavits by U.S. citizen friends, attesting to our relationship and marriage.
    • Copy of our JOINT Tax returns for 2013, 2014, and 2015
    • Copies of 3 JOINT apartment rental lease agreements
    • Copies of 3 Bank account statements showing JOINT account ownership over time
    • Copies of 3 car insurance ID cards showing JOINT account ownership over time
    • Copies of 2 credit card statements showing JOINT account ownership over time
    • Copies of 4 flight itineraries and 1 cruise itinerary showing JOINT travel
    • 15 photos showing us together and with family

    October 2013 AOS Filers

    Ours was accepted Oct 3 and has been in acceptance as well for now 148 days. I read in the forums that this is common and it will change to once approved. I'm not too worried about it, we got the EAD/Travel documents, and interview waiver so I'm sure it's in queue.

    Thanks for the reassurance! We are planning a 3 week trip to return to Brazil at the end of May. I am hoping to have the Green Card by then. But if not, I just hope everything goes smoothly with the EAD/Travel Permit in hand.

    Is it true that you can send the beneficiary's birth certificate for the Adjustment of Status not officially translated?

    Simply translated by anyone who is fluent in the English and Portuguese??? With a form like this?

    Just relax. Use your address as her address and if you move notify USCIS of the new address. Make sure when you move to notify the post office and put her maiden name in your mail box because her green card will arrive in that name.

    Ok, so I likely dont have to report the month and a half that she lives in Minnesota preparing our wedding?

    Also, you have raised another question about the Adjustment of Status that I have. Do I file everything in her maiden name? Or in her new name after having married me?

    Hello everyone, we just received our K1 visa in the mail this week! However we have a few questions about the AOS and change of address during the processing time.

    Here is the situation. My fiance will arrive in the US with me on September 30th. We will be married immediately the first week of October in California with my pastor. However, we are planning a wedding ceremony in Minnesota to be closer to my family our friends living there. This wedding will be at the end of November. So after we get married the first week of October, my fiance will then travel to Minnesota to plan our wedding. We will be living apart for the time until our wedding, about a month and a half. During this time I will file Adjustment of Status for her.

    Are there any potential problems with living apart until our actual wedding ceremony in November? After our wedding, we will move in together into a new apartment in California.

    Do I have to file change of address AR-11, or online, everywhere she goes?

    Here are the places she will be living. First, when she arrives, she will be at the address on the K1 Visa. Then she will move to Minnesota with my family. Then after the wedding we will move into a new address together.

    I just want to be careful that we dont do anything wrong.

    The USC petitioner does not need to provide proof of being a USC or LPR. Only a co-sponsor needs that.

    Only one parent can be the co-sponsor. Choose the one with the most income and that meets the requirement for their own household size plus the beneficiary. The co-sponsor needs their own I-134, most recent tax transcript and proof of current income: letter from employer and/or most recent pay stub(s). Of course then the proof of being a USC or LPR.

    Hi Everyone. My fiance is filling out his I-134 form, and just to clarify, here are so questions if you can help.

    ) Is this the only information the applicant fills for the interview?

    17- Affidavit of Support
    - Form I-134 signed
    - USC's latest federal income taxes,
    - USC's proof of current job and
    - USC's proof of citizenship or greencard

    2) His parents are co-sponsoring, do we need the same documents listed above from both mom and dad? Or just one of them.

    3) When we are listing the assets, like a house, do you send copy of the mortgage with? And the car documents... And so on?

    "SECRETARIA DE SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA" - It is required that the applicant obtain a certificate from the Polícia Técnico Científica, Instituto de Identificação from each state in Brazil where the applicant has resided for 6 (six) months or longer for the last 5 (five) years. If you have resided in more than one state in Brazil, during this period, you will need one for each state.

    Since you have lived in the same state in Brazil for the last 10 years, and the way I understand the rule, you only have to "go back" 5 years, so your present state should be fine.

    It will depend on how old you are now, after you turned 18. It is for the last 5 years. The Federal report will cover all of Brazil territories, but if you lived in different states for more than 6 months, you will need a Instituto de Identificação from each.

    Nothing is required from your stay in USA.

    I left my home home state when I was 14, do I still need a Instituto de Identificação from my home state, and my actual state?

    I'm now 24, and I've lived for 10 years besises the 2 and half years in the US.

    Congratulations!! Yes, my fiancée also found out that the information is incorrect saying that all police reports can be obtained online. She had to travel by bus to a distant city to begin the federal report, and after so many days, will return to retrieve them. Her appointment is July 2nd, and she has been trying to schedule an appointment for the last 2 or 3 weeks. They WON'T give her one, they say to call back closer to the time. There also seems to be something going on at that medical center, near the embassy. Something about they were charging too much for a vaccination and got in trouble by the embassy. My fiancé called another medical center, and is trying to schedule an appointment there, because she needs to have a set appointment in order to schedule a plane flight. My fiancée was already stressed before this "headache".

    I've lived in 4 towns... do i need 1 "atestado" from each city? Although, I've been in the same town after I turned 18, except the years I was studying in the US.

    If I go to Policia Federal they can track my record right? Or do i have to go to each one of this four places?

    Yes, but you need your case number. You can get this from the NVC once it receives your petition (you can call them-look for the number here on VJ). It is also on the notice you receive from the NVC stating that it has received your I-129F petition and is sending it to Rio. I recommend getting your Atestados de Antecedentes and all other paperwork done ASAP. Good luck luv.gif
