As part of the process of getting and immigrant visa for my son an interview at any Applicant Service Centers (ASCs) in Mexico needs to be setup prior to the interview at the consulate in Juarez.

What is actually done at that interview at the ASC? We are traveling to the US at the end of the year and he currently has a non-immigrant visa (Tourist).

Is his visa retained at that interview or is only to take pictures and fingerprints again? Anybody know.?

Can he still travel to the US with his non-immigrant visa before the interview at the consulate in Juarez.

Also after that ASC interview how long does it take to schedule the interview with the consulate in Juarez?

I'm the petitioner for my son and I recently received the letter that he is eligible for an appointment. I'm filling out form DS-260 and got the Beneficiary ID info from this forum, Thanks it was confusing.
