I received my oath letter too! Thanks God!.... My oath is same day as kiwiana.

Ok, I am officially a US citizen .

The oath was a special one that was held at the gym hall of a big school where a senator representative, voting representatives(I registered today), more than 3 judges attended plus a reception at the end of the oath. Everyone talked here and there about what it means to be a citizen and welcomed us in the american family.

There were 43 to be naturalized today, the whole event took 3 hours from start to finish, and we got to take a punch of pictures with family and judges.

We were also given a big thick envlope (for free), inside it a very nice white envlope to put the certificate in, a booklet thats a replica of the original constitution, a small flag pin, passport application, and a historical booklet that talks about the history of immigrants with pictures of the most important immigrants events in the last 200 years.

Overall, everyone enjoyed and was happy to be finally done forever with USCIS, and many stayed for the reception that was really great.

Goodbye USCIS, I will never forget the amount of time, money and efforts that I and everyone here go through to finish their journey.

I will stick around from time to time to follow up with you guys till the end of your journey's.

Thanks, it was a fast yet thorough interview (5 -10 mins). I have been a permanent resident for over 6 years now. I did ask the officer about oath ceremony before the voter registration time, he said it will be Oct and need to wait. (My letter says Congratulations your application has been recommended for approval.....blah blah) The online status and wait is worrying me. I did sign up for online status updates, and I have been receiving so far. I just want to get done with oath before the voter registration deadline.... I want to vote, but looks like need to wait wait wait.... ahhhh!

Congratulations omprabhu on your interview approval!!! our time lines for the citizenship are similar!! You went for your interview on 9/19? We were probably in the waiting room at the same time! ( It is always soo busy in the Santa Ana office!)

The officer said to you that it could arrive the first or second week of October? and the 1st October is tomorrow.. So the letter could arrive this week or next. I received mine on Friday. (Your letter could have got held up over the weekend.)

It is strange how some peoples online status are updated and some aren't.. Since i signed up for text alerts with USCIS, i have always got a text telling me when the status has been updated.

Let us know when you receive your oath letter.. I hope it will be this week!!
