My fiance has arrived in the US on a K1 visa and we have been officially married in the US. Can she only take my last name as her last name after marriage or is it allowed for her to take my first name as her last name? Any references or examples would be appreciated.

My fiance sent back the packet 3.5 for K1 Visa to the Islamabad embassy on September 13th. It has been almost two weeks and we haven't heard anything about the interview date. I am guessing that the unrest in Pakistan is contributing to the delay. When should I contact the embassy to get the status? Is there a website just like the USCIS one that might be able to show us the status using the ISL case number?
