Thanks I read that page and have some more questions. Is it faster to go through an accredited third party fingerprinting agency? I read that going through the RCMP usually takes about six months.

I am having trouble locating specific instructions for obtaining a police cdertificate in Canada. Currently, I live in Taiwan but lived in Canada for a period exceeding 12 months. I have no police records and am applying for immigration to the US. My questions are as follows:

1) Do I have to apply in person?

2) Is there an official form I need to fill out?

3) Do I need to provide a set of fingerprints or can they do a check by name?

4) If I need to provide a set of fingerprints how do I have them submitted electronically and how do I direct where to have the results submitted by the RCMP?
