  1. Our experience was the same as Ms Hogan. , including just getting a rather cheap-looking plain piece of paper for the dependent. It said was titled, "Verification of inclusion of a dependent in filing of I-751 petition." It had the same date as my wife's official I-797 receipt notice (NOA1), but arrived some time later, and was not on official letterhead. However, it did have my wife's NOA1 number, and her alien number, dependent's alien number was included as a reference number.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

    Thank you!

Received the biometrics letters for both my wife and stepson yesterday. Scheduled for March 9.

Still have not received the letter for stepson yet. ?

  2. We filed our joint I-751 on Feb. 3 and received the NOA, extending my wife's green card for one year, on Feb. 16. However, we have received nothing for her son, except the letter from DHS indicating that it was time to file his I-751 (which was received 2 days after my wife's NOA arrived).

Just wondering if this is all normal? Should I wait a few more days to see if his NOA comes in the mail?

    Thanks!

  3. First, let me say good luck to all Feb 2016 filers. I hope everything goes smoothly and as quickly as possible.

We filed on 2/3 to CSC and received the NOA1 (dated 2/9) for my wife in the mail today.

I wanted to ask a quick question of the group to see if anyone knows before I put it out on the larger forum. We filed for my wife and her son on the I-751. We received her NOA1 today, but not for her son. Am I correct that we should be receiving an NOA1 for him as well?

    Thanks in advance!

    Jack

  4. I am looking for a little advice/help that I can't seem to find by doing a search.

We received my wife's green card two weeks ago but received a letter requesting more documents on her son (copy of our marriage license, some financial docs and I-693A for him). I took the letter to my office to make copies of all the things they needed and somewhere in the process I lost the original letter (and copy I made). I've searched for 3 days and cannot find them.

Is there a way to obtain a duplicate of the letter from USCIS? I called and the person I spoke with was of no help. I thought my next step would be an Infopass appointment to request a duplicate face to face but nothing on the Infopass appointment "case services" list seems to apply. The due date for the required docs is In July but I want to get this knocked out ASAP. Any advice from experience or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Wow, sounds like you need to get a info pass or at least contact them and find out if you case number is correct, make sure to have the applicant with you.

    Regards,

Speak of the devil and he appears. LOL!

Received notice of potential interview waiver in the mail when I got home this evening. Only downside is there was also some language about a potential delay of up to 6 months (from date of letter). I'm hoping that's just canned and we get approved long before that.

  6. Hey everyone, I'm new to this thread. We filed for AOS on November 14th, got a RFE and sent in the response to it on December 17th. It said that I can expect to get a decision or an update after 60 days. Those 60 days are almost over and nothing yet. I also haven't gotten my EAD yet and I'm really starting to worry a little bit. It's just taking so long all of a sudden. I already got my biometrics and all that taken care off. The National Benefits Center is working on my application. Does anyone know why it's taking so long and if this is normal? My I-485 case status says request for evidence response review, and my I-131 and I-765 are still saying initial review. The case number before my number with the same filing date got approved two days ago..It's just so frustrating at this point!

This whole process can be very frustrating for sure. We filed in Nov for AOS, EAD/AP. Biometrics end of November and combo cards arrived second week of January. USCIS case status shows delivery of both combo cards but nothing on I-485 at all. I am sure all will happen in due time but it doesn't make the waiting any easier. Can't wait for those Green Cards and a two year break from all of this!!!

Good luck and hang in there!

  7. dancin5hr.gif 10 more days and you can buy the ticket, that is the easy part :-) ..... but why it took so long for you to schedule interview, you got NOA 2 few days before us and im already here,is it so slow in Moldova?

No, it is not slow at all. Actually it's very quick. She only called today to get her appointment. We have reasons for waiting until now for the interview but the path is all clear for us so we will take the last steps very quickly!! smile.png

  8. If I have a letter from my employer stating my position (for 10 years), copies of last 6 months direct deposit receipts that show I make well above the required levels, do I really need to send tax transcripts as well or is that really only for self employed persons? I thought about including my last 401(k) statement but not really sure if that is even necessary.

    Thanks!

  9. My fiancee is in the process of completing her forms. She had a couple of questions and I am not sure of the answer. Hopefully, someone can assist us.

Form DS-230 Questions #14-18. Questions about spouse. She is divorced and we are not married yet so not sure how to complete that section of questions. Is this a None or N/A answer or does it pertain to her former spouse?

Form DS-156 Questions #18-19. Again, questions about spouse. However, it says "even if divorced or separate". Same questions as above.

We're probably both 'overthinking' the question but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!

  10. Congrats to all the additional people who have been approved lately!!!

We got our noa2 approval April 29.

Does anyone know roughly how long to expect for it to go to NVC, be processed further and then onto our local US consulate?

We received our NOA2 on April 11. I called NVC on April 24 and they said they did not have our file from USCIS so they could not give me our case number. They also said it usually takes 14-20 days to receive and give a case number. The Packet 3 email from our local embassy in Chisinau came very early on April 30. I called NVC the same day and got our case number. This all sounds pretty typical for a timeline from what I have seen on others NOA2-NVC-Packet 3 email.

    Good luck!
