  1. Hi,

We have the interview next week at the embassy. dancin5hr.gif

Will be found out the same day as the interview whether or not my fiance gets the visa?

From the date of interview, how long does he have to wait to travel? - In Argentina I believe they send your passport with the visa in it via DHL? Any one who interviewed in Argentina know?

    Thank you!!

  2. Thank you, I do hope I can choose "do not know." That would simplify things a lot.

We are going to help her fill out the DS-160 online today. I will let you all know if we have any other questions.

While filling the "Family Information: Spouse" section in DS-160 application, you have a list to choose from (in question "Spouse's Address"):

    - same as home address

    - same as mailing address

    - same as u.s. contact address

    - do not know

    - other (specify address)

Just choose "do not know". You can't leave this question unanswered.

  3. Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are helping his mother fills out the forms for a tourist to visit us in the US and hopefully be there for the wedding. She is from Argentina.

We have a problem because his mother is legally married but does not have contact of her spouse. On the DS-160 she does not have his contact information, address, city of birth, etc. Can we leave this information blank? Any recommendations?

Also, do you think it is better she apply just as a tourist or say she is applying to go to our wedding. My fiance has not been approved for the K-1 visa yet. We filed in October 2012 and will most likely not hear until May.

    Thank you for your help!

  4. Fellow K-1 visa petitioners:

About long was the wait for you to receive the NOA2??

    Thank you

    First contact: June 2009

    Started Dating: Dec 2009

    Engaged: April 2011

    Sent K1 Visa: Oct 2012

    K1 Application

Day 000: Oct 27, 2012 I-129F sent to TSC via USPS Express Mail

Day 002: Oct 29, 2012 received at TSC at 11:03am

Day 005: Nov 1, 2012 Case accepted & routed to VSC

    Day 009: NOA1 Receipt

    Day ___: NOA2 - ___days from filing???

My timeline is very similar - and VJ's estimate is: Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between April 30, 2013 and May 5, 2013*. The days are always changing a little bit - plus or minus a few days. At the bottom of your timeline you should see the approximate dates for your application.

  5. I was actually going to ask the same question today - I also recently received by NOA1 with my case number. I entered the case number on the USCIS website to check my status. It looks like the first step is acceptance - does this mean acceptance (approval) of the entire package or just acceptance meaning they received the package?

When I look up my status now it just says: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283. - which of course is not helpful because it is a recording.

    Thanks for your help!!

  6. Hi all,

My fiance is from Argentina and also has a Spanish citizenship (passport).

Everytime he has visited the US he has entered using his Spanish passport because it is under the Visa Waiver Program and he does not need a tourist visa.

Which nationality should he use to fill out the K-1 application????

He will be going to the US Embassy in Argentina because that is where he lives...

Also, he is currently in the US for a few months and we plan on mailing in the I-129F form while he is here. Question 12 on the 1-129F asks if your fiance is currently in the US? W originally thought we would apply with his Argentine passport but the possible problem we now foresee is that the question also asks for the Arrival/Departure (1-94) Number and since he entered under the US using his Spanish passport and under the Visa Waiver program, he does not have that number. We think it will look weird if he says he is from Argentina but does not have a 1-94 record number.

If he is applying for the visa in Argentina, but he applies using his Spanish passport, will he need any type of documentation from Spain?

    We really appreciate your help!!!

    Thank you
