  1. You said 60 days after interview which means you were interviewd on November but you said visa was issued 17th December

    please be more clear

what did the OC tell you after your interview?

and when exactly were you interviewd?

how did you know visa was issued on the 17th dec?

My interview was on the 1st of November. I mean that my visa was issued on the 17th of Dec but it has not been mailed to me.

The OC said I'll receive my passport within 7 days (after interview).

According to this website https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw== my visa is issued. And today is the 14th day since the status shows 'issued', and no visa in hand yet. They actually asked me to send them a scanned copy of my passport so that they could check on my passport. It sounds like they've lost my passport, which is why they aren't able to mail it..

  2. Okay, so my visa was issued on the 17th Dec (or maybe earlier), and the issuance status updated on the 28th. However, the Consulate in Mumbai where I was interviewed has still not mailed my passport! I wrote to support@ustraveldocs and said that it's been 60 days since my interview and I still don't have my visa and passport (even though visa is issued). They asked me to send them scanned copies of my passport so that they could look into it. Is that strange? Does it sound like they have lost my passport?? I wasn't even given a 221g after my interview. When I call the customer service they don't know whether I'm under admin processing or not. Are they supposed to know? I'm getting tired of this process :crying:

  3. Hello,

My fiancee had K-1 visa interview on November 7th, 2012 in Mumbai Consulate. At the end of interview the officer gave my fiancee a white slip 221(G) and asked to drop off these documents at the nearest documents drop off center:

    1. My W2 form

    2. Original I-134 (support of affidavit)

    3. white slip 221 (G)

    4. my fiancee passport.

She dropped off all documents on November 20th at Mumbai VFS center. The VFS center informed my fiancee that once Mumbai consulate is done reviewing our application, they will mail her the passport.

Can anyone please tell me how long would it take to receive passport? How long does the consulate take to make these decision? It's been more than 8 months since I first applied and initiated the process. The wait has been very painful. My fiancee and myself have been under a lot of stress. Any information of this subject will be a great help. Thank you in advance.

There is no way to determine how long it will take for them to process your fiancee's visa. Normally, it can take up to two months (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter), as this is the time frame for administrative processing.

  4. But its good that they retained your passport and you will get it soon. But they issued this 221(g) letter to me and returned my passport but retained those albums...so let's see how it goes. I feel suicidal now :( :( :(

Don't be sad. All you have to do is to provide what they asked for, and they'll give you the visa. I prefer if they returned my passport with directions than keep it for 1 month without any directions. And it could take many months before they return my passport! Consider yourself lucky, seriously!

  5. Hi,

Yesterday on Nov 26 I had my interview in Mumbai Consulate at 7:30am for the CR1 visa interview. Everything was going well all of a sudden the Visa officer asks about Snaps and I showed her the album, she saw that and the Visa Officer left the place and had some discussion outside. In short I am telling that I had 1 hour and 45 min. interview by three separate visa officers starting with one blonde lady, then one Indian lady visa officer and one lady Caucasian in an interrogation room there and they grilled me left right and center. Then after that they issued me a 221(G) refusal letter stating that I need to submit photographs of the ongoing relationship, or transfer of property, joint bank account statements.

In this stage how much it will take to complete the process because I am half dead now. Waiting for the visa to see my husband. I am dying to meet him. Anyone has any idea? Please have some. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Hmmmmmm.... Looks like we were both interviewed in a similar way. I too was grilled just like you, first by an African-American lady, then the Indian lady and the Caucasian lady in the interrogation room. I entered the consulate at 7:30am and left at 1:30pm!!! They made me wait like crazy and grilled me three times (3 seperate interviews). Finally, the African lady said things were looking good and that I should get my passport in 7 days. It's been 26 days since my interview and I DO NOT have my passport yet. I have no idea what's happened. They didn't give me any sheet or ask for further documents. I feel your pain... been feeling it since 4 weeks now.

  6. I'm surprised that there are a few people still waiting for weeks after the interview. I'm in the same boat. It's been almost a month since my interview, and my passport status is till in limbo. UGH!! I have not heard a proper response from them; if I call the USEM in India, the only thing they tell me is that my case has be escalated and that I should wait for their email. I wonder if the USEM slows down during the festive months? Starting end of October, they are pretty much in a festive mood.. Or maybe the elections have caused the delay, or they simply feel like keeping random people on hold as part of some experiment.

  7. Sorry if this has been asked before since I dont really have the time to log in to visa journey a lot.

Maybe someone could help me. My fiance was interviewed last oct 24 2012 and the interviewer said the

application is ok and they just have to verify something. They gave her a 221g and all it says there is

to wait for a call and nothing is checked if we need to send additional proof etc.

Its been a month now and we try to call every week for updates but its still pending. Anyone with

similar experience? Our embassy is in Manila Philippines.

Thanks for the help in advance.

It's been 25 days since my interview at Mumbai consulate, and I have NO idea what's happened to my passport. They have not asked for any proof or anything else. I"ve called them several times but no one knew anything. But finally I managed to get ahold of this guy on the helpline and he said he has forwarded my case to the concerned department, and that I should just wait for their email. So I'm waiting.......

This is probably not helpful, but i hope it makes you feel better a tiny winy bit that you're not alone.

  8. Geez.. You say you called the NVC, do you mean you called the State Dept.? The (202) 633-1225 number? Because they're telling me everything is fine, and it will be mailed. "High authorities"? That's scary. I have never heard of anyone going through AP at the Stockholm embassy.. Would be just my luck if I'm the first ever lol

I didn't call the NVC (and I think it's the DOS), my fiance did. So I'm not sure what number he dialed.

Well, by higher authorities I mean those from the US Consulate in Mumbai who are in charge of issuing visas, not the FBI or anything lol. They are so slow in responding though. I dont think yours is under AP since the DOS said everything is fine. I think the US embassies become slack towards the end of the year since it's Thanksgiving and then Christmas. For them it's the festive season.

But who knows, after all this ranting you might receive your visa tomorrow hah..

  9. Happy Thanksgiving folks!

I'm a little confused as to what information can be gathered from calling the DOS. My visa interview was November 6th. It was approved, no slips, no nothing out of the ordinary. "You will have your passport and everything you need in the mail in two weeks." I still have no visa or passport in the mail after 16 days. The embassy says it has "yet to be sent" and that they will "contact" me soon. They then go on to say to "contact us in a weeks time" if I have not heard from them.

I've called DOS twice. DOS insists that the visa has been issued and "everything is ok", but are not able to tell me if it has been printed or mailed.

I've seen other posts from people who have called the DOS, and they have been able to tell if the visa is printed or not. In this case, what does "issued" mean? Does it mean the visa is printed and ready for mailing, case complete, hidden under some consul's desk? Or does it mean a visa number has been issued, but the embassy might still be doing some sort of processing? Would the DOS know about this? This isn't my first thread on this, I'm just very confused/slightly worried.

I have yet to see a similar case with this long of a hold up before actually going in the mail.

I'm in the same situation. Well not exactly, but very similar. My interview was on the 1st November and they said my visa was approved and that I'll get it within 7 days. Today is the 21st day (3rd week!!) and still no passport or visa. I've called the US consulate several times and first they said they can't disclose anything to me. Then I asked my fiance to call the NVC and they told him my case is under admin processing. Then I called the consulate again recently and they said my case as been escalated to high authorities and that it's not under AP. Wth??? So anyway, they told me to wait until they email me back (easier said than done!). Now I'm just waiting to hear of some news about my passport/visa. But since it's Thanksgiving in US this weekend, I dont think i'll hear anything until next week (if that's possible!!). But yah, I'm starting to doubt that they might decide to deny my visa after all...

  10. How will you know that your visa is under AP? I just wanna check if I have the same issue because I kept trying to track my Passport/Visa through 2GO's website it kept saying my Case #, Passport # and UID are invalid. So, I myself is confused. I might have the same issue then.

Hey sorry to hear you are in the same boat! When was your interview? It's been 20 days since mine :( I asked my fiance to call a number on this website http://travel.state.gov/visa/about/how/how_1463.html I'm not sure which number he called, but they told him my visa was under AP. I think he called the NVC number: 603-334-0700. Let me know if you hear anything...

  11. It's unfair and emotional abuse! Why does the interviewer first approve the visa and then a few weeks later applicants find out they are under AP? I was told my visa should be home within 7 days. I found out 2 weeks later that I'm under AP. Why do they do that? Why can't they just say, "we need to look further in your case so just HANG IN THERE for who knows how long" instead of "your visa is approved and you'll be getting it soon"? I've read many people have experienced a similar thing...

  12. Okay, to make a long story short. We applied for the K1 visa. Everything went smoothly, they approved our petition in exactly 5 months, we submitted all our paper work for packet 3, submitted the medical results and had our interview. Well, my fiance went on his interview by himself and I regret that part so so much. From what my fiance told me is that they put us in AP because they wanted to further examine my financial paperwork. I make more than required amount and I submitted everything that Visajourney told me; paystubs, employer letter, bank statements, tax transcripts...everything. Now we have been in Ap for a month and neither the Port-au-prince Consulate nor the National Visa Center can tell me what exactly we are in AP for. Whenever I ask them, they say its illegal to tell me the reason and all we can do is wait. They said it could take two weeks or 6 months....6 months!!!!! for just knowing why????? I just want my king to be here...

PS. I wrote my congresswoman, and they told her the same thing...sad :( :(

What's funny is that while I was told at the interview that my visa was approved and that I should get my passport with the visa in 7 days, I got concerned when it didn't come for two weeks. So I told my fiance to call the NVC for info. They then told him I was put under AP. I think it's ridiculous that 1) They first approved me and promised my visa in 7 days 2) WE have to call and ask about my case; they didn't lift a finger to email/call me to tell me I'm under AP. If we hadn't call, we would have never known... Today's the 19th day since my interview, and I don't' know how much longer I'll have to wait.

  13. After 6 hours at the Mumbai consulate I was told by a grouchy interviewer that my visa was approved, and that I should be getting it "within a week". It's been 2 weeks since and no info on my passport is available. I tried calling the helpline and they have no info on it; I email passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com and I get a "There is no status update for this passport number" response. What's taking them so long? Can they deny my visa after telling me it was approved?

  14. Yah...and it's says "The current status of your passport is In Transit From Post.".. do you have an idea what is the meaning of this? thanks

It means your passport is on its way...

I had my interview on Nov 1st and haven't got my passport yet :bonk:

  15. Good day, im new in here but im always here to read everybody's experiences.. I was interviewed last nov 2, and got approved, now my question is how long does it take for my visa to arrive? is their anyway for me to follow up my visa coz im pregnant and i need to leave before dec. And lastly, is their any possibility that even the consul said your visa is approved, they'll gonna send back ur passport wiith a denial letter? im really worried and stress right now, i need some answers from you guys, hope you will all help me.. thanks.. and God bless

I had my interview on Nov 1st and I still haven't received my visa!!! They told me I'll get it in 7 days but obviously they lied....
