About 11 years ago I moved to the USA with my now ex wife. To cut a very long story short I am regretting that choice and wish to return to the UK to be with my family.

I am a naturalized citizen now and have no idea where to start. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Hi all

My interview is March 8th and I am getting my paperwork together for this big event.

I have:

Id, Marrage Certificate, Divorce Decree, Birth Certs for everyone in my family, Tax returns for the last 3 years (2012 is waiting to be filied) Rental agreement in both our names, bills in both our names, bank statements in our names.

Is there anything else I should take with me?

Do I need it and how can I get it replaced with the visa in it?

Ok with all the whirlwind of arrival and everything I forgot to check on something.

At the interview the gentleman looking at our case said that it was a shame that we wernt applying ater our two year anniversary as I could just go straight to being a perm resident and that I should apply once we had been married two years for this.

Now on arrival I am told that I have to wait two years (ish) before getting my conditions lifted.

Who was right?

We were married on 29th Dec 06 and arrived in the USA on a CR-1 Visa on Dec 16th 2008.

Also when will I get my card and SSN?

Oh you guys are wonderful thanks so much for all your help. Spent over an hour on the phone last night to IRS in USA only to be told that they didnt know anything.

Just spent a short (6 mins) phone call to IRS in London, silly me didnt think there would be an office there, they are sending a short letter out to my wife giving the thresholds for filing and that with this letter that I am going to type should be enough.

Ghaaaaa

God Im stuck here and after waiting over an hour for the IRS i am still no closer to understanding it all.

Quick outline,

My wife is US citizen and i am UK and we are DCF for my visa.

I am trying to get the regulations that state that she didnt have to file tax returns as for the last 3 years she hasnt been earning anything (1 year unemployed in states and 2 here in UK unemployed)

Have waded through so many publications and things that my head is spinning and none of them make any sense.

Ok so we sent our paperwork to the embassy in london via royal mail special delivery and all the track page says is that it has reached the PO box and is awating collection/delivery

Did the embassy get it?

I am a UK citizen and my wife is USA we are planning to move back to the USA to live so i need the right forms for that. Also I need the correct form for our new baby boy. Born here in the UK

Ok last question on this i hope...

My wife is expecting our first baby in late december.. This means that at the time of filing i dont have any dependants but when the visa is issued i will so what do i put for Q17??? Shall i just put a cover not with it explaining..

just a couple of questions though so please help if you can.

Background: Wife is american i am UK we are living in the uk and want to move back to US

1) Q14 If you are a lawful permanent resident alien, complete the following: Date and place of admission for or adjustment to lawful permanent residence and class of admission.

My wife (the american) is on a 2 year leave to remain.., How do i answer this?

2) Q15 Name and Address of present employer.. I take it this refers to my employment (the uk citizen)?

3) Q16 Has your relative ever been under immigration procedings. (i take it this refers to my wife)

Do i need to compete q22?

You guys are great.

Thanks for everything.

How can i check to make sure the I-129f was stopped. I sent an e-mail as they requested and i really dont want this to mess up the process. As for ties there.. my wife still gets post and has one major tie there... her daughter that we were going to bring over.

She has not been filing tax returns as she has no income. Is this a problem?

One other ? as im here.. How can i change my Timeline and which is the correct one to use?

Hi, Ive not been here in a while as i lost the addy (bad me)

I was filing for a K1 visa to move over to the USA but the situation changed and my finace (now wife) had to move over here to stay with me for a while. We now want to move back into the USA.

The only problems that i can see and need help with are:

1) Will the face that we filed for a K1 but stopped it cause problems?

2) Will my wife being on the further leave to remain visa cause a problem?

3) Can we still have a sponser as we will both be looking for a job when we return?

Well things have change a heck of a lot in the last few weeks.

To cut a long story short my fiance is now moving here and we have a little bit of a worry and a question for you guys cause you seem to know everything lol

Will her studant loans need to be paid off before she arrives here or dont they matter in this process?

Case number, your name, beneficiaries name, and his/her date of birth. They really may not need more then that, but that should cover the bases.

See i knew i could get an answer here... One thing though.. Where can i find the case number?

What information will the consulate in London require to find my case and tell me if they have recieved it and when they plan to send the packet 3 out? It was sent to them on the 7th Sept.

Well...

After 3 weeks of waiting the NVC have recieved the case. A quick question, how do we know when they have sent it out?

Now then the coincidence..........4 years ago on Sept 7th 2002 i was married for the first time... odd that isnt it..

I think its a good sign though ive always hated that date. now i have something to celebrate YAY

You could watch them on a computer, but be aware the region code can only be changed a set number of times on the computer's DVD drive then it will lock the code.

Very true BUT being the total computer geek that i am i have a small piece of software that releases the DVD codes on your PC.. PM me if you want it and ill send it over

well it took 3 weeks from our NOA2 to the NVC recieving it.. I have found the best time to call them though... 11:36am EST and the options are easy.... press 1 then 2

Its always a good idea to have the original form (or a copy) with you. My lawyer has sent the copies over to me and advd me to read them so that i know the family history incase im asked at the interview...

If he is refusing to send them over i would be a little worried too
