Complete BS. Stop with the scare tactics. 30 more days in itself is not going to result in a "possible deportation letter."

It is all about showing that you are acting in good faith and with due diligence though, and waiting another month is definitely not showing these 2 requirements...

Same for me, the status is still "case was received" and has not changed since the beginning or after biometrics.

I just submitted my application and so far I have only received the first NOA I-751 Receipt Notice.

There is only one receipt number (WAC.......) and reference number at the top. The WAC ref is not working in the online tool.

If I understand this correctly, I need to wait for the next mail, the Bio appointment, in order to get a new WAC number that we allow me to track the status of my application on line. Is that correct?

It feels so weird not to worry about the visa process anymore! :rofl: :bonk:

I'm happy and relieved and remember feeling like we'd never see the light at the end of the tunnel and, all of a sudden, it's done and we made it.

I'd like to say a huge (F) THANK YOU (F) to the "VJ community" for their help and support. Being able to be here and share our stories really made a big difference as I was navigating through all the steps.

Just receive the interview appointment letter . May I ask is that possible to reschedule the interview to an earlier date?! If so, who should I talk to ?!

I'd check first the earliest possible date to schedule your medical exam.

I wanted to do the same thing but found out that the earliest date I could get at the medical center was one week before the interview, so no rescheduling for me!

Hey Guys,

I'm new to these forums but have a read and benefited a lot from all the info, so thanks! I'm just starting the NVC process now (as petitioner) and had a quick question about Choice of Agent. I'm living abroad in Lebanon with my spouse until her visa is ready. We have a really unreliable mail system out here, so I was wondering if I should use my fathers info and permanent address in the states for Choice of Agent. At the same time I was told by the NVC rep on the phone that all correspondence from them will be through email, so perhaps the bad mail system here would be irrelevant. Mailing the major remaining forms out from here will be fine since I can just send FedEx.

So my questions are

1) Is it important for the Agent we choose have a reliable, quick snail mail location (like the US)?

2) If I did use my father, would he then have to act on each form and in each communication with NVC from here on out? Or could we just use his address and continue handling the details ourselves?

I'm leaning towards just making myself her Agent and hoping we don't have to receive snail mail, but just thought I'd ask before sending in the DS-3032 email.

Yes I do, mine went in about the same time as your's. I always think I'm bothering them right after I get off the phone then about 20 mins later I realize that is what they are there for and will likely call every other day again. I want to be made aware of a problem as soon as it happens and not when they notify me! I didn't get notified about having a case # until 3 days after I found out via phone. 3 days is 3 days of shipping time and later dates. EVERY day is one less we are all with those we love. So the 2 min.s I speak to them and their annoyance with me will just have to be put aside. Bringing home our spouses is what is most important after all, not grumpy NVC workers! haha

I've never had a "grumpy" person. I've had the 15 or 20 day answer, but I know it's the standard response.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've always had a good experience, with no waiting time, and nice people, at that time of the day.

I remember being obsessed too, not wanting to loose 1 day, but not knowing something for 1 day doesn't always mean that you actually looses 1 day.

Is the average time between when you send the IV package and the case is completed about 2 weeks? Calling the NVC everyday is starting to get depressing.. If it's really two weeks maybe I should skip calling this week so I don't have to hear that wait 20 B days....

To avoid this feeling, I didn't call at all for the first week. So if I were you, I would start calling on Wednesday.

I know some might disagree with me, but I think that calling 2 or 3 times a week is enough.
