  3. I need help also...My in-laws is currently in US as a visitor with unexpired I-94. MY husband with be filling I-130 with I-485...Do I need medical report? They have no insurance. I dont know what form I even need to use.

    Thanks for your help. Caillen

Yes, they need to have their medical exams done as well as vaccinations. Go to the USICS Civil Surgeon Locator to find an approved civil surgeon in your area and have the medical exams taken care of. The civil surgeon will fill out form I-693 which will have to be submitted along with the I-130 and I-485.

thank you so much for info..that means more fee's to be added.

  4. I am filing petition for my mom and my dad concurrently. Should I file 2 separate I-864 for my mom and my dad? Besides, if I file I-864 for my mom, in part 3, question 9, should I list down my dad's name? For question 10, part 3, should I count 1 or 2 person?

Your advice is greatly appreciated. Please help.

Each parent must have their own I-864. In part 3 question 9 you do not list your father, if you read the question it tells you not to list anyone who will have their own I-864.

Foe question 10 part 3 you would count only 1 person.

    Hope this helps

    Tay

question..if question 10 part 3 would only count only 1 person...I would have 4 people in first mom affidavit and also 4 people for dad affidavit? oww..4 because me, my husband and my daughter. Thanks.

  5. Actually I take that back...Do I file separate affidavit of support for each parent. There separate petition, separate adjustment of status...Is affidavit also separate?

Prepare one I-864 listing ALL intended residents... include a copy with EACH I-485

I get so confuse that form I-864 part 3 number 9...it says DO not include any relative listed on a separate petition. Isn't my in-laws are two separate petition? Where would I put 2 people, plus 3 includes me, my husband and daughter equals 5 people.

  6. Thank u so much for all your info. But..why do I only pay once for I-864. Dont I file separate petition, separate affidavit? How about the form I-693?..Can I used I-693 instead? DS-230...I dont see that in USCIS website?

You won't see the DS-230 on the USCIS website because it is not a USCIS form. DS-230 is only used for visa situations.

If filing with the parents from inside the USA you do not pay an I-864 at all... The I-864 fee is only if they are coming on an visa.

I-693 is needed for adjustment from inside the USA

Let me get this straight... I'm filing I-130 with I-485. Also I-864 and I-693?? The affidavit I-864 is separate? Or not? Where can I find that I dont have to pay for I-864? Thank you again.

  7. hello..can anybody help me pls. My situation is(which is my husbands situatio)...He is a US citizen, both parents in US entered as visitor..still valid as of right now.

I am filing I-130 at the same time with I-485.. DO I NEED TO INCLUDE MEDICAL REPORT WITH THE INITIAL FILLING?..IF SO WHAT FORM DO I USE?

Thank u for any help I could get...

Who are you filing for? Are you a US citizen?

My husband is the one petitioning both his parents. He is a US citizen.

No medical information is required with filing Form I-130. Medical information may be asked for during the medical and interview. If your husband's parents are older (more than 60+ years old), you will need to look into getting private health insurance. They will not qualify for Medicare or Social Security until they accumulate 40 work quarters (at least 10 years of work). They may qualify for means-tested benefits (welfare) after becoming US citizens.

I am also filing for I-485 at the same time. I cant find anything in USCIS site says if I need it or not. I-485 form has a "medical report" part. We live in Sacramento Ca...they have not received their CA ID. I just dont know where to get medical report with no cost to me. Filing fee is way to much...add more doctor fee...juz plain crazy...

Yes both your parents are going to have to have a medical done.. You need to find a Civil Surgeon in your area (you will find a list on the USCIS website) that doctor will do the medical and will complete the required forms. You will have to pay a fee for the medical, it can be anything from $150 - $400 each, Your parents may also need vaccinations done and you will need to pay for them as well, some local health centers will do the shots for a reduced fee.

You send the medical papers in the sealed envelope that you are given by the Civil Surgeon with the I-485 and I-130. I agree that the cost of doing AOS is very high and that is one reason that most people who are filing to bring a parent over to live in the USA do it from their home country.

    I-130 = $355.00

    I-485 = $1010.00

    Total = $1365.00 each

    OR

    I-130 = $355

I-864 = $70.00 (you only pay this once, not for both parents)

    DS-230 = $400.00

    Total = $825.00 for 1 parent

= $755.00 for the other parent.

  9. hello everyone,

i wonder if i had to filed the I-693 report of medical examination and vaccination record, and DS230 to my mother already here.

    thanks,

Your mother will need all the necessary vaccines and a full medical exam done by an approved civil surgeron. He/she will then fill out form I-693 that needs to be filed for the AOS.
