You might not get an x-ray done due to your pregnancy or even some of your vaccines because of the effect it can have on your unborn child. I remember doing my medical I was ask questions about my menstrual and if I was pregnant and the person who conducted the x-ray told me its not required for pregnant women and young children to have an x-ray but it would be better to call the office where you will get your medical done for your own peace of mind.

My suggestion is that you register with DHL first and print a copy of it to take with you to the interview. If you don't register before the interview then they will ask you to do so and send them the copy, and I doubt an age difference will be a problem when your relationship is genuine, I wish you the best on your journey.

It seem like you are on the right path even though it's only 12 pictures please remember to label each picture on the back. for your medical result I'm not sure if there are any changes to whether the doctor will send it to the embassy or not but I'm more certain that you will get a date to pick it up before your interview date.

There will be no addition fee to be paid while your AOS is pending except for the postal service charge. I Applied for AOS in October,2013, without applying for EAD/AP because I was hoping to get GC within 3-4 months so I did both EAD/AP and mail them yesterday. Hope there's someone here that can tell me how to obtain my police record from the U.S.? I'm going to need it to apply for Jamaican citizenship but I really can't find any information on how to get one. I have lived in Hawaii for the past 14 years. Thankful for any information.

you can contact the passport immigration and citizenship agency (PICA) and get some information about it or you can do a google search like 'how can I apply for citizenship in Jamaica' and read up more about it hope you will get some answer to your question.

My fiancé interview is coming up we listed his children on k1 but to come at a later date. Do they need to attend the interview? With passports. Even tho they are not coming till later this yr or further. Also do we still need ds156 | ds 156k & ds 157.

They all required those forms so its better to prepare them and take them with you to the interview. If approve you might get all the visas at the same time.

I think its better to have the kids present at the interview whether they will be travelling with you now or they will join you later since they are listed on your petition.When I went for my interview I took my children with me and my sister was waiting with them and the security told me to take get them because they are listed on my petition, and while doing the interview I was asked to take them to the window because the interviewer want to see them. So I would advise you to take them with you, It won't hurt.

What's RGD?

It's the Registrar General's Department where someone can apply for birth, marriage or death certificate if your fiance will be leaving soon and only have one copy or no other copy of their original birth certificates she must go as soon as possible to get them. That place often takes a while even when you pay for express service. I"m talking from experience so the sooner will be better.

He should take the receipt he will get from the tax office after he pay the cost of the police certificate with his original copy of his birth certificate, two passport pictures and his unexpired passport.he will also need a pen to fill out a form that will be given to him at the location where he will go for the police certificate.

I posted this under the CR1 Processing Forum as well but it was suggested that I also post it here so I can get some Jamaica specific answers. This is hard to talk about but I need to be prepared. My husband can't read or write at all- I mean he can sign his name and I think he can write mine but that's about it. He knows the very basics. I have him set up with literacy programs when he gets here but I need to get him through this interview first! I am so panicked... I will be with him but I don't know if I can be of any help to him in terms of filling out the forms. Can someone please describe the requirements to me so I can prepare him properly and so we know what to expect?

Is this grounds for denial if the IO gets wind that my husband is not literate?

I would suggest for you to get a co-sponsor and I don't thing being self-employed would be a problem. My husband was about two month in his new job and we use his parents as our co-sponsor and was successful.

We are in the same boat. Medical at MoBal Hope Aug 19 interview Aug 28. My finance was pretty adamant about getting the results back in time for the interview and MoBay hope does plenty of exams for Visas so I am guessing (and hoping) that is enough time.

As for the immunizations - what they told my finance was the cost of the medical was $120USD and that he should have $20,000JMD - $30,000JMD (est $200-$300USD) in cash in the event he needs shots. I would say your finance should try to find his immunization card if possible and have a clinic evaluate what other shots he will need and if possible get the shots at the other clinic as it will be cheaper.

It would be easier for him to go to the clinic that he was getting his vaccine when he was younger and the nurse incharge there will look through his record and sign in the dates of all the vaccine he recieved oin a new immunization card, I did the same thing and paid $100.00 Ja to get it and he will be getting it the same day it only takes a few minutes.

I am not sure of the cost for the medical at Mobay I can speak of one of the places that Kingston that abour $16000.00 and vacines starts at $1000.00 not sure which vaccine is for that price because the nurse didn't disclose that to me. I met two women who were doing there medical on the same day I was doing mine and one of them told me that she was scheduling her appointment for Mobay and the cost was $20000.00 not including the vaccines she will be getting, I would suggest you to check with the other two medical locations in Kingston and get some information before settle for Mobay and try to call the office to see if you can pickup you medical at lease a day before the interview that way it will be better to have it in hand before than to pick it upon the same day as tour interview.

For the packet to reach its destination post office that your fiance will pick it up will takes a few days depending on the area he is living in or will collect the packet. I did recieve an emai from the embassy with packet 3 and also packet 4 and a few days after I went to my post office to pickup the packet after regular check. What you can do is to contact the consulate and ask the questions and have them email thyem to you and as soon as you receive packet 3 you send them your DS230nforms by email it works faster. My first packet took about five days and packet four took approximately two weeks

That square bluish green piece of paper that was given to your fiance means that he/she was approved and he should follow the instruction on the DHL paper and register so he/she would be able to pickup the passport/visa as soon as it is ready.

Wow! The IO asked me if I registered but he did not look at or take the sheet from me.. He may have forgotten. This is gonna cause complications in relations to the passport delivery right?

When the IO asked If you had registered you should have handed it to him/her but you can have the error corrected now before it gets too late. What I Would advise you to do is email them and outlined what took placed on the day of your interview please make sure to give your case number and you can scanned and email the DHL confirmation sheet them and then they will respond to you, or you can call or email them to get an appointment to drop it off at the embassy to prevent a delay receiving your visa. As vross wrote it's better to assing a pickup location whether Kingston or montego Bay

Once visa has been approved at the Us embassy, is there a certain code or something that the IO needs to copy from the DHL confirmation sheet in order to have passport with visa delivered without complications? In my case the confirmation sheet was printed out and IO asked if I had it but he did not look at it. I am thinking that he may have forgotten to look at it and take down whatever code would have been required.. Could you share your experiences please?

If you handed in the copy of your DHL confirmation sheet at your interview then you don't have to worry they will take care of it. You can track your case online to know whats going on with your visa.

there is no information on my status as yet, each time I view the site it tells me there is no information on the way bill number so your process seems to be faster since your status is showing administrative process. I had my interview on the 25^th and was approved, i'm still waithing to see or hear something.

You will get it unseal so you can look at it but make sure not to sign it until the the day of your interview you will then sign it in the present of the person who will be checking your documents. Good luck

From my experience it wouldn't matter if your period is on or not, I only had x-ray, blood test and required vaccines. Countries might have different requirements for medical so you can ask at the location where you will be getting your medical done.

I did my police certificate recently and paid $2000.00 for express service which took five working days. the cost increase in the first week of June for the police certificate, which range from $3000.00 for 21 days,$6000.00 for 5 days and $8000.00 for 1 day. When I did my medical at a particular hospital the nurse told me the cost of the vaccine varies it starts at $1000.00 and up she didn't tell me the cost of each even though I asked her. So the cost will base on the amount of vaccinations your wife will need, the cost that the other VJ members wrote are accurate.
