  1. Thanks guys!! appreciate your ideas and suggestions :)

its pretty daunting when you are in the marriage for real and something like this comes up that raises red flags and is totally unavoidable!

for now thats what my husband and i are planning ...(just in case he cannot find a job there)...to have the common residence in boston with a lease with both our names , car reg in boston, drivers licence and maintain that as the residence so when we file the ROC it will reflect the same address...and of course other things like joint tax returns joint bank accounts, frequent visits(tickets) , beneficiary to property etc...should they call us for an interview we can always explain and hope that they are reasonable enough to understand....

    thanks again everyone!!!

  2. Hey everyone!

does any one have any experience with removal of conditions when the husband and wife have nt been livig together for a year... for a very good reason......

I am going to school in Boston and my husband works in NYC... he may or may not get a job there...and if he does not we will have to live in different cities...

i know the IO s are trained to think in a certain way...but its an unvaiodable situation for both of us...when we file for ROC in 2015 it will be a year since we would be living in different cities...

obviously we will be meeting each other very often ...but im in a fix...would it raise red flags??

  3. HI GUYS!

Glad to know that some of you are getting approvals...congratulations!!

I filed in the first week or april and the case status when i check on the uscis website says its till on acceptance...im starting to get really worried...it has not even moved to "initial review"...could someone please shed some light on how ur cases proceeded...as u all understand this is very frustrating..its close to 7 months now...

  4. You can read USCIS' expedite criteria here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=16a6b1be1ce85210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

Based upon the facts as you have outlined them, it's unlikely you would qualify for an expedite. Remember that an expedite means that you are taking someone else's spot ahead of you in the queue for yourself, so you need to have a really good reason for doing this.

    thanks!

their criteria look pretty serious...dont think i will have a shot....

  5. Hi everyone!

I filed for an AOS form K1 visa...from Connecticut area...

from my observation we dont seem to get interviews when filed from around this area...and it takes really long...even upto a yr to get the conditional GC...

is there any was it can be expidited...reason being...I have to attend school and some of them ask for the applicant to be a Permanent resident...

i dont want to miss out on a year just coz i might get my card late...

is an expidite even possible in AOS cases?

    thanks!!

  6. Hi,

My fiance needs a Police Clearance Certificate from Mumbai for K1 visa. My fiance lived in three different addresses in Mumbai. Does he need to get PCC for all three addresses from Passport Office? As Mumbai consulate states "Indian citizens residing in India for six months or more since turning 16 years of age must present Indian police clearance certificates from the local area passport office." Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi...

no matter how many places you have lived in you will need only one PCC...if she has been living in the same address as mentioned in her passport for the last one year she will get her PCC within a day...if not they sometimes send for a police verification...

  7. This question is for applicants at Bangalore Police Commissioner Office.

    In the form at

    ksp.gov.in/download/forms/Verification%20Applicationnew%20eng.pdf

out of the options from 1 to 16, which one did you select for PCC to be shown at Mumbai US Consulate (if asked) ?

    Is it

    16. Police Clearance Certificate for Indian Citizens ?

    Please reply.

    Thanks..

  8. Hi people i recieved my NOA2 on 6 Dec 2012 and now waiting for the packet 3 to arrive. My fiancee is about to send me all the documentation along with NOA2. Now we have a couple of queries regarding I134:

1: Q-11...should we answer it as NA(K1 Visa to Permanent residence)or we should write intend to and give details as all expenses to cover including boarding lodging, incidentals etc.

2: My fiancee has a employement verification letter from her employer stating she makes abt 38k a year which is above the poverty line. We showed the money in the bank account too which is not a very big amount, just a couple of thousand dollars. Also we have all the tax returns and pay stubs.. Now do we need to still get a letter from the bank stating the account opening date ,the balance in account and the amount credited during the year together with showing the credits in the account from the bank statement or only the first documentation is enough.

3: Do we still need to show bank statements for the entire year?

Please help us as we are really worried about it and need to prepare our packet asap.

    hi there!

    congratulations on your progress!!!

i got my noa 2 on dec 6th for K1 visa petition...

my case will be dealt at the mumbai consulate...i was in doubt as to what documents/forms are to be sent with the packet 3...do let me know if you happen to know...

  9. Hello.

Can any please tell me where to call to get Packet 3 emailed to my finace' and also what he would need to bring to Passport office to get the PCC? Does he need any paperwork to show why he needs this PCC or just tell them he needs it for a interview?

you have to fill in a form for PCC for the USA, which is available online on passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink take the form with you the day you go to the passsport office and you will get your PCC on the same day...u dont need any paprework to get the PCC...they know it is for visa interview...

abt packet 3 ...i have been calling mumbai consulte and not been able to get through...do let me know if you get in touch...

  10. Hi VJ members,

I just had a question regarding police certificates, when should I get this done? we still haven't gotten our NOA2, we do have a lawyer and he hasn't mentioned anything yet I'm guessing because we are still waiting for NOA2 but I'd like to get everything ready to go once we reach the time. So for the police certificate I just go to my local police station and ask them for it? how long does it take to come in? since I'm asking about police cert I should also mention that when I was around 12-13 years old I stayed in Turkey for 7.5 months, do I need to obtain a police certificate for this also? or since I was under 16 there is no need??

another question that I have is regarding previous addresses, I read somewhere that you have to include your previous addresses on form DS-260 since the age of 16, I unfortunately don't remember the exact addresses and dates, where can I obtain this information?

I appreciate any kind of help you guys can give me, thanks :)

police clearance certificates are issued by regional passport offices in india...im not sure how it is for canada. in india it is a one day processand since you were abroad before the age of 16 u dont need a PCC for turkey ....

  11. After looking at this data, there are more and more question as to what is causing the lag. Although there are MANY pending petitions, at the national level the volume of completed I-129F exceeds received. Where as VSC volume is the opposite. At some point this service center director needs to make an a decision on how to get this moving. Tranferring a few cases obviously should have some impact, but how much of an affect will it have on the I-129F rates. It is really frustrating to see that at one point (late 2011) the rate of completions exceeded receipts. It appears the last time VSC experienced this lag was back in late 2010.

Just like everyone else I just want some answers. Seeing my expected processing time abitrarily change makes this process feel more difficult. I'm know nothing could be done but wait. Just having some kind of explanation and even better action plan would make this overall process more tolerable. Even make me more patient. Information is key!

Here's a link to the data for those who are interested.

    http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=6&office=6&charttype=1

ya buddy...what ever the reason is...the wait is really frustrating...its four months today for me...and based on VJ i should not even think about expecting for something to happen for another 2 and a half months...i wish the director realised soon and did something about it...it just does not seem fair specially when CSC and TSC are geeting their approvals so much faster...

  12. Oh thats nice....to hear..which consulate is yours new delhi or mumbai? would be adding you as a friend...keep me posted if you hear anything from them....yeah i know that now they are sleeping and we dont have any chance but i really wish if they can start working and do something about it quickly....
