Also I recieved two "welcome notice" same mail twice jus before my Greencard came thru, does anyone knw why? Or probably an error.Ohh my husband and I have been jumping like babies we r so happy as we've come a long way for this moment...u knw. We are thankful to God for all!

  2. If you log into the site you used to make the original appointment (Travel.state.gov if I recall) there will be an option for "reschedule your appointment" at under all your information. The new dates should be listed and you'll be able to select one and continue from there.

Oh, i didn't know we could schedule our own interview.. I just called DOS they told me I had an interview for march 19th.. so I guess it's all good.. Thank you though :)

  3. Montreal just released a ton of new march and april dates. When I tried to get a date last week they were all may. If you need/want to update to a sooner time, check it quick!

how do you do that? do you call or email someone?

  4. I am the foreign spouse and my hubby is the USC.

We opt-ined for EP. Our AOS and VI packages were sent to NVC on January 16th. Three days later we received a NVC letter stating:

And then we waited patiently until January 29th when we received another NVC letter titled "xxx2013xxxxxxxx - checklist cover letter.pdf". The instruction part is as follows:

I thought the NVC was asking for my scanned visa photos again but my hubby said this seemed to be a false checklist because we have already included two of my scanned visa photos in our sent IV package. and the instruction says NVC doesn't collect scanned image of visa photos for EP but only asks for two photos at the time of the interview. We decided to do nothing about the email. Two days later we got our scheduled interview day.

So one of my friends (also applying for CR1) received the same photo checklist on Jan 28th and I told them just to stay put, ignore the email and they might get their interview day within one or two days. Now it has been almost a week and they still get nothing...They start worrying and so do I. Perhaps they should send in the scanned visa photos AGAIN?

Does anyone choosing EP also get such an email from NVC?

I got this e-mail today. Our case was complete two days ago. I called NVC and they said it's just a reminder to bring the originals to the interview.

  5. That's right! So I don't know why people are putting Vermont when they are sent to MSC (NBC). But VSC is not approving any I-130 apps received after Aug 15, 2012.

Mine is also a 1 person application. It was the volume of I-130s received in May and June that seriously slowed down processing times.

I put it in my signature. It's under My Settings when you click on your user name in the top right of the site.

    Oh okay..Thank you :)

  6. I had the same case, my case was transferred to local office. I kept waiting for over 3 weeks and scheduled an infopass and a resulte, I findout that my local office got the case and were working on it. That was back on Aug 24, 2012. On first week of October, I got a call from USICIS officer asking me if I can show up at the same day for an interview. I was outside the city at the time and I rescheduled it for the next day. I did show up next day and had an interivew and luckily my I-130 Petition for my wife got approved....

Oh that's great! did they state a reason to why they transferred it to a local office? what did they ask? what did you take as proof?

I was looking at the info pass this morning, none of the options apply to us..I chose the option -->You need Service on a case that has already been filed

but the options that follow up are not applicable to our case.. would it matter what option we chose?

Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing. <-- if we clicked on this would it matter? I just don't want any problems with the uscis people.

we haven't had any updates since they sent it to a local field office on august 15th,2012...

  7. Like CanLee said, the medical has to be done by an approved panel physician. There's currently 4 I believe in Canada: 2 in Vancouver, 1 in Toronto, and 1 in Montreal. But yes, you can get your shots done ahead of time. I actually recommend this as, if you need shots at the medical, they're going to cost a lot more than if you get them done at a family doctor or clinic.

    So OHIP doesn't cover this?

  8. My husband and I got married dec 28th,2010 in the states. We initially applied and had an interview which we had to reschedule. I had to go back to Canada and unfortunately we could not make it to the interview. This summer june 5th,2012 we filed for i-130 and received Nao1 on june 13th,2012..On august 15th,2012 there was an update that our case was transferred to a local field office. There has not been any updates ever since. Now from what i understand is that usually an interview is up for schedule if your case has sent to a local office. My questions is should we make an info pass and figure out what is going on? if they have any questions or concerns we could answer that?

  9. I "NEED" the USCIS to approve my case by the end of this week! #Wishfulthinking...... We need our husbands and wives in our lives!!!. In this day and age, I think all countries should have electronic processing. It would make this process much faster and easier for everyone. #RANDOM THOUGHTS. (SIGH):(

Just hang in there, I couldn't agree more...I wish the process was faster...but for now we just need to be patient.. :)

  10. From what I read from the link within the site that you linked.

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=c3c7ca7c5fed9310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=e7801c2c9be44210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

The applications that were at CSC before Aug 1 will stay at CSC, all applications after Aug 1 will stay at the NBC. Hopefully this will let CSC get caught up and decrease the time needed for AOS.

We filed out I-130 on june 5th 2012...received our nao1 on june 13th... on aug 15th our case was sent to a local field office..would you know what that means? since it was sent to a local field office does that mean the process time will increase?

  11. I noticed a lot of threads about transfers to CSC but no mention of the USCIS policy change.

Read it here Workload Transfer from Service Centers to Field Operations

USCIS wants to notify customers and stakeholders that some work that USCIS performs at the four USCIS service centers (Vermont, Nebraska, Texas and California) will be transferred to a Field Office or the National Benefits Center (
    NBC
) in order to balance the overall workload with processing capacity. The chart below summarizes these changes.

    <snip>

Interview-Waivable Family-Based I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

Interview Waivable cases are family-based I-485s which USCIS has determined can be adjudicated without an interview. In the past, the
    NBC
completed pre-processing of these cases and then transferred them to the California Service Center for adjudication. On Aug. 1, 2012, the
    NBC
started to retain these cases for adjudication.

Based on that description, some August filers forward might get a surprise greencard in the mail instead of an interview notice. Since USCIS isn't sending it anywhere, they wouldn't really need to notify of a transfer. Right?

sorry I'm a bit confused...my case was sent to a local field office in august...we applied june 2012..would this make our case process slow?

  12. Wow ....great...u got it so early...we are still waiting....i asked my husband who lives at seattle area...he said that the case is transffered to homland security dept at california...i dont know whats going on....I think patience is the name of the game....!!!

I know the feeling.. our case was sent to a local field office on august 15th.. haven't had any updates ever since... don't know whats going on :(

we filed our I-130 on june 5th and received our Nao1 in june 13th.. just hang in there

  13. We are June filers; got our NOA2 in August. Has anyone else that filed in June received a NOA2? I'm really surprised ours came so soon! Not complaining, I'm VERY excited--I just feel unprepared! Thank goodness for Visa Journey! Wondering if anyone else had a speedy experience as well?

wow ! that was quick.. congratulations :)

We received our Nao1 on june 13th

our case was sent to a local office on august 15th and there hasn't been any update ever since :(

but good luck with the process :)
