  1. Hi Everyone,

Its been a long while since I've been on VJ and I hope everyone is well and things are going smooth. My husband and I are moving back to Morocco in August and we are looking into container shipping to send our furniture. We have been looking into different companies but there are huge discrepensies in prices and I was curious if anyone has ever shipped to morocco or if your husbands or wives have..or know someone that is in the buisness. We are in Boston...just wondering if anyone had any tips.

    Thanks all!

    Sarah

  2. hi all.

my husband had his naturalization interview on August 25th and passed and now has his oath ceremony on the 17th of September. There is a wedding for a family member a week and a half after his ceremony and he wants to travel home to Morocco to go. Im wondering if he can travel with his green card or does he have to try to get an expedited new passport? It would just be less stressfull for him to go with his green card and apply for the US passport when he comes back...

but im not sure if there are rules against that.

    what do you all think?

    thanks,

    Sarah

  3. Hi there.

My husband will eventually be having his interview...not sure when, he just had biometrics. But Ive been reading about people bringing all thier passports to the interview. My husband had to re-new his passport at the Moroccan Consulate in NYC and they took his former passport from him when they issued his new one. Im just guessing we explain that to the person in the interview, right? I have a copy of his entire old passport so I could bring that to show...what do you think?

    Thanks,

    Sarah

  4. i also think you should give it some time. May 18th was only half a month ago and many people go on AP for a longer time. But I also totally understand your worrying, its natural. I also think you are taking good steps by connecting your senator to the case.

    good luck.

  5. On the N-400 part G

    question 33 it asks:

Are you a male who lived in teh United States at any time between your 18th and 26th brithdays in any status except as a lawful nonimmigrant?

you have to answer yes of no

if you answerd yes and are over the age of 26 you have to write a statement explaining why you didnt register.

My husband came to the states on a K-1 visa 4 months before his 26th birthday then got his 2 year green card after his 26th birthday would he have been considered a lawful non-immigrant?

the wording has me puzzled. Or has he always been a lawful non-immigrant?

    Thanks

  6. thanks..got it.

Im actually a female but I wrote it from the voice of a male rather than explaining that its him thats filling it out and me with all the questions because I become absolutly neurotic about filling out these forms.

I think i got the clarity I needed.

    Thanks,

    Sarah

  7. These are silly questions...but I just want to make sure we are right.

On the N-400, in part 8 in Asks about your Spouse.

The Spouses Family Name (Last Name) -

now is this her maiden name our her current last name?

    part 8 - G

"How many times has your current spouse been married (including annulled marriages)

-do I write 1 if she is married just to me?

I get hung up on the wording...so I just want to make sure Im doing it write.

    thanks

  8. Hi all -

Im gathering some documents to go along with the N-400 ...(tax returns and such) and after reading the actual N-400 application and guideline print out it doesnt state the necessary documents to submit with the application. So Im wondering if you all just submitted the tax returns etc (all the documents suggested- thanks again for that) with the application and referred to them on your cover sheet.

    what did you all do?

    thanks,

    sarah

  9. I agree..they are hard to contact..what about the consulate in NYC? I know my husband has had to physically go there to get answers to questions.

Im curious about this also...I guess I just assumed that once you get your second citizenship..then you have it, I didnt realize there was a permission factor.

  10. its been a long time since Ive been on VJ..and I didnt realize how serious the VSC situation is. My husband filed his I-1751 last summer...(I will give the exact dates later once I get home). Im curious (and Im sure its been questioned before but I havent read back through the many pages of this thread), can you file for N-400 once you are eligible even if you have yet to recieve your 10 year green card?

    thanks,

    Sarah
