I encourage you to go the legal route.
However, I have close friends that on a travel visa got married and he was able to remain in the United States. They contacted a lawyer to see what their options were and the lawyer told them to just get married. It is fraud but she told them it's only frowned upon. This was an immigration lawyer from Nebraska.
My fiance' and I chose to go with the K-1 visa because he had a job, home and car he needed to part with before moving to the states to be with me. My friends Fiance' was without all of those as he was a student. We were worried that if we followed their visa path the immigration officers would see that when he visited he had no ties to the UK, that he had intent to immigrate and he would not be let into the country. You need to keep in mind that at any point while traveling if the immigration officer doubts your intentions they can deny your entry into the United States.
My friends got very lucky. I took luck out of the equation because if you do the work (with the help of VisaJourney) you can legally be together in less then a year.

Pleased to see I'm not the only one! I travelled from Wales to London on August 7th for my medical, I thought I'd sailed through until I reveived a call 2 days later saying that a shadow had come up on my xray. They suggested I arrange a visit to my own GP and ask for a course of antibiotics for a chest infection. Again, I feel perfectly well! My doctor insisted on an xray first, so am due back in their tomorrow to check out the results, if its a chest infection, I will be having another xray to check it's clear before making my second appointment in London. We had planned for an October Wedding, this will set Mark and I back over 7 weeks
We thought the same thing - but if you have sent all your paper work through to the embassy the will schedule your interview WITHOUT your medical being complete even though it states that you will be sent away on the website. Hang in there. Ross was able to return for his interview on August 8th and then go back for his chest films that day and they sent them through to the embassy the next day. We thought we would be held up for another 8+ weeks but we are looking at the same timeline now.

When did you have your repeat medical? Might just be coincidence, but we saw a guy who looked a lot like your fiance in the waiting room when we went on August 8th.
My fiance's sat next to me and when I was scrolling through this topic, he saw your fiance in the avatar and was like "Isn't that guy we saw in the waiting room?". Ours was booked for 10.50am.
He was there August 8 at 11am! He's hard to miss with the beard and the height!

Lots! Check out the Regional Forum!

Finally!! I've been looking all over the forums for someone else with our problem.
My Fiance' has to repeat his chest X-ray as well. They told him he had a "shadow" on his lung and sent him to his GP to get a round of antibiotics to clear up what they think is a lung infection. Totally frustrating because he also had no symptoms!
I told my Fiance' to schedule a chest X-ray with his GP just before his medical to make sure he was cleared there. I would hate for him to travel back to London just to be told that it still hadn't cleared up.
This has totally messed up our timeline and wedding plans

I enjoyed it

Here is a link to to London Embassy's site that shows all necessary vaccinations. As far as I know your fiance' has to get a list from his Primary Care Physician before going to his medical so if he can get his vaccinations beforehand it would save him a step. Hope this helps!

I wholeheartedly recommend contacting your Congress person. I had been waiting over 193 days and after writing a letter to my Congressman I had an approval after 4 days. This is not to say that you will instantly get approved but it helped in my situation.

If the letter has a signature on it, its best to send original. Everything else can be copys.
Thank you very much!

Hello All!
Just wanted to know - along with the original I-134 form and intent to marry - should I send original pay check stubs/letter from employer/ W-2?? Or are copies sufficient? In the K-1 Guide it only mentions to copy the NOA2.
Thank you!

I sent an email to my congressmen and within 4 days I had my approval. Good Luck!

I really urge anyone who has been stuck waiting like I was to contact their Congress person. 4 days after I sent my letter we got approved. It's just one little step more that the CSC or VSC need! If anyone needs help writing a letter I'd be happy to share mine!

At the stroke of midnight on April 26th, after waiting a mere 193 days, Ross and I received the best pre-anniversary gift we could receive, our NOA2!!!!!!! I'm over the moon!! ♥ I highly recommend contacting your Congressman - in less then 4 days we had our approval!!!!

I'm an October filer as well and have heard nothing. I wrote to my Congressmen on 4/22 and I'm hoping to hear from my Representative by the end of the week if they have called the CSC. I'm hoping this is the push my application needs!
Previous drug use and Medical
in United Kingdom
Posted · Edited by EmberEmpress
I'm no expert but my Fiance' medical was June 11, 2013. He admitted to previous drug use in his youth and they had him pee in a cup. It did not effect our process.
