  1. Hello!

My wife lived in Charlotte for 40 years and she has always been in the Banking industry. Charlotte, apparently is the second financial city in the US next to New York. If you know anything about finances, then you are laughing. Lots of financial companies are hiring at the moment and my wife is always getting phone calls from agencies to work for them. We will be living in Tennessee when I get there and we plan to run two businesses, she is already running one of them now.

    Good luck!

  2. When NVC finishes reviewing a package (typically accepting it), they tend to automatically generate this "false checklist" requesting the other package, even if your package is already in the building (they don't bother checking). Unfortunately, it happens a lot and, like you, people panic over it as they think their other package got lost or something. Just call up NVC and confirm. You'll probably get good news that your package (your AOS in this case) has been approved :)

It probably makes sense for NVC to do that, my Wife's AoS arrived there about a week before my Visa Application but since it took NVC 2 weeks to look at it, my Visa Application has been there a week and may not have been looked at. However, the email from NVC specifically mentioned reviewing my Visa Application and my documents and then told me the Visa Application was missing!

When we rang them up the next day, they said they did have the application and told us to disregard the checklist, panic over.

  3. Well not all the time if a false checklist and i will tell you why, when i was in this step i also got a checklist email same as you i thought it was a false checklist and did not pay attention to it but guess what a few days later i called and they told me i was missing a police certificate, what i trying to explain here is that make sure that this is really a false checklist by calling NVC it can be a document that you are missing and they can tell you for sure by the phone hope this helps you

Yes! We were worried about that too but the checklist specifically mentioned only 'Immigrant visa application part 1' which is what they were reviewing but was also missing at the same time!! It didn't make any sense. We did ring them on Tuesday and this is how we found out it was a false checklist which was auto generated and were told to disregard it. It was just annoying to receive it and have us worry for nothing.

  4. I got a strange email from the NVC on Monday which caused a bit of a panic. The email explains that the NVC are reviewing my application and documents and attached a checklist for missing documents. Here is an extract:

    ______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case.

My question is: How can the NVC be reviewing my application if they say it was missing? There wouldn't have been an application to review!

I since found out that this is an auto generated email and that I should ignore it. I also found out that it is known as false checklist, however, I lost one day sleep over it and wondered why they sent it in the first place.

  5. I never got anything in the post from the NVC either and neither did my wife. We are at the stage now where we are waiting for the case to close and for NVC to send me an interview date.

We had to gather all our information from this site, the NVC website and Department of State website. Between the 3 of them, we worked out exactly what to do. It takes a lot of research to work out your own case. We also found by ringing the NVC when things seem to drag on after each step, that action is taken the next day and they are quite helpful.

All of our paperwork, forms and instructions were downloaded from the sites and I sent all my completed forms and civil documents to my wife so she can overnight them to the NVC when the time was right.

It was very frustrating to figure it all out on our own and we are grateful for this forum to find many answers that we needed.

I say keep researching this forum and the other 2 sites and you will eventually find your answers.

  6. If NVC has your email address, you do NOT get hard copies; just emails.

Regardless if you're eligible for EP or not, if NVC has your email address, they'll email you the following: initial information package that contains your NVC case number among other things, DS-3032 form, DS-3032 acceptance reply (if the DS-3032 was emailed), invoices, checklists (if applicable) and interview date.

The only thing those doing EP get in addition is a case complete email (and sometimes an email indicating that the AOS/IV package was received and under review).

I am so glad to hear this, thanks for the info ;)

  7. The IV invoice ($230) does NOT get invoiced until NVC has received, reviewed, accepted, and added the DS-3032 to your case file.

True! The NVC has received my Postal DS3032 since I have tracked it. As it was taking so long to get there, I also emailed it to them earlier this week. I am just waiting for them to review and accept one of them and add it to the case file along with a visa invoice.

  8. I know I received the DS3032 in the UK after we had already received and sent it off in the US. Doesn't really matter if you never receive it at all :-)

It was three years ago when I went through the process, but everything was done via email after that point :-)

Thats right, it doesn't matter whether I get the hard copy of the DS3032 or not, I am hoping that all the rest of the commumications from the NVC is done by email too. I didn't want to wait another 16 days or more for the visa invoice and DS230 visa application instructions to come through by mail and then mail them back with all the required documents which takes another 12 days (28 days turnaround!)

I have actually now decided to fill in a blank DS230 and send it to my wife with all the required documents now. Then by the time she gets it, hopefully the visa invoice would have been generated and paid for and all she has to do is date the form, add a cover barcode and case number and then overnight it to the NVC.

Can anybody see a problem doing it this way? Am I missing anything or is there another easier way?

    Ant.

  9. Hi All

I am the beneficiary in the U.K and my Wife is the U.S Citizen living in the U.S. We have got as far as paying for the AOS and she had received her invoice for it via email on the 28th August. She also received a copy of the letter that they had posted to me on on the same date asking me to choose an agent (DS3032) She emailed me the copy of my letter and I have filled it in and sent it off.

As of yet, I still haven't received the hard copy of the letter and it has been 16 days!

My question is; How long does it take for U.S mail from the NVC to reach the U.K? I know the address is correct and I am worried that so much time is wasted with applications and replies travelling in the post.

My second question is; Does the NVC email copies of hard copy postal mail to the beneficiaries in the UK and petitioners or is that only for certain other countries which qualify for electronic visa submissions?

    Thanks

    Ant.
