  1. He didn't take EAD nor I-94. Just made a statement that made it seem like he is satisfied. He took some pictures, bank statement, car insurance, leases, creditcard bill, and mutual cell bill. I would not be worried aside from knowing that people in the same location (Baltimore) who had their interview after us already wrote that they got approved.

We also didn't get any letter...

Also, is it true they run the name check and background check on you after the interview? does it involve any authorities at your home country?

  2. My wife and I were interviewed in the Baltimore, MD office on September 6th. At the end of a very quick and easy going interview we asked what's next to which the officer replied by saying

"The law gives me 180 days to make a decision; however, I try to get the easy cases out as soon as possible. You can either get denied - which I do not see happening at this point, I might need more information - in which case you will be contacted, or you will get approved and you are looking to be getting a green card within a week or two"

Since then I have seen that many people who were interviewed the same week as us (before and after us) already got approved. For us the status online still shows testing an interview for the I-485 and initial review for the I-130.

What could be the reason why our case takes longer? Is the the officer himself or are there other factors?

Thanks in advance for any input!
