  1. long distance relationships arent easy... it takes more outta u that one may think, and to keep the relationship going you need to learn special skills (balancing your time schedules, not sleeping, learning to deal with the frustration of being apart, giving in during fights, coz lets face it, its a waste of time fighting over the fone or on skype when u have so limited talk time together, etc).....everyone here can attest to that... you are not alone

the good news, no matter how long it takes, once u are finally together, those struggles you have overcome would keep ur relationship stronger

  2. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. .... http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-693instr.pdf

heres another link from an admin named Captain Ewok whose post had been helpful while we were assembling our AOS package with regards to .... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/101202-faqs-forms-i-693-and-ds-3025/

dont forget to send a copy of ur DS-3025, just to make sure that if ur medical got lost in transfer you wont get an RFE coz it does happen to some adjusters... Good luck!

  3. hope the links will be helpful

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/333247-my-3-day-sputum-exam-experience/

oh btw, its not only the sputum test that would be a reason for a delay, in our case a recent vaccination made a 3 week delay because my son had his scheduled shots (from his pediatrician not the ones in St. Lukes) a week before our medical exam at St. Lukes. ......since u did say u feel perfectly fine and feels healthy, u dont need to sweat it, u'll probably finish in 2 - 3 days :) Good luck!

  4. we had our interview approved on 2013-08-01 then got our visa on 2013-08-07 ... Try not to panic... CEAC does have some glitches, after the approval we checked CEAC the very next day and it said "Ready" after a few day it said "Administrative Process", it only turned to "issued" a day after i got the visa. So dont worry, if the interview went well, ur visa is on the way.

as for 2go delivery or pick-up... picking up the passport and visa is faster compared to being delivered....so you will have to factor in a few days in between.

  5. hi guys, i know my question is way ahead of my status but i want to prepare ahead. i was reading this forum for aos and ive got some questions guys. hope you help me with these:

1 if i file for ead along with aos, will it cost me more than just filing aos alone? ive read in the guide that the payment for ead is already included with aos? or i misunderstood it?

it will cost the same, $1070 for AOS with EAD and AP

    http://www.uscis.gov/i-485

    There it states:

Please note that, if you file Form I-485 to adjust your status as a permanent resident on or after July 30, 2007, no additional fee is required to also file an application for employment authorization on Form I-765 and/or advance parole on Form I-131. You may file these forms together. If you choose to file the I-765 and/or I-131 separately after July 30, 2007, you must also submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485. If you filed your Form I-485 prior to July 30, 2007, you must pay the fees associated with Forms I-765 and/or I-131 when you file.

  6. I am not aware of the process for expediting the EAD based on the recent tragedy in the Philippines. However, an option is to try to find a job now and then expedite based on the job offer.

Please see how I did this here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/453753-how-to-request-to-expedite-your-ead-based-on-a-job-offer/

thank you for the link ... nice to know there are other ways to expedite the EAD... at least there are certain breaks during this process.

thanks for the link... i hope other Filipino nationals needing to send help to their family and relatives back home can avail of this... so far my AP is at post decision already when i checked my case status at uscis (although visiting right now is out of the question...sending aid would be better rather than using it on a plane ticket)..... im now praying for a speedy approval on the EAD but its still in intial review... **crossing fingers**

  7. After reading about USCIS news about helping Filipino nationals expedite some processes after Typhoon Haiyan hit my hometown, I was greatly relieved that I could request for my EAD process to be hasten. We've seen the process time here, it normally takes 67 days to get one's EAD approved, my EAD is due to be released by the end of December or the first week of January, so, we have requested for it to be expedited today so I can start working and start sending money home to my dad and my other family members who have been affected by the recent typhoon. I just wondered if anyone has similar application/request and what updates they have on their request so far. Thanks!

  8. The uscis will forward your approved application to the NVC. depending on their speed it might take a few days or a few weeks for them to forward your petition to the manila embassy. Both you and your fiance can start collecting info, necessary documents, and researching the next step at the embassy. once your petition is forwarded you will receive new case number starting with MNL*********** and a letter with info of how to download forms from the manila embassy website. you can then start paying interview fee and medical exam fee and go online to set up dates for both. your fiance will have to fill out a form i-134 affidavit of support and collect the supporting documents/evidence that will be needed at the interview. good luck with everything.

  9. Do i need to submit one i 134 for my fiance (k-1) and her children (k-2)? Or do i need to submit an i 134 individually for each person (fiancee and children) on the k-1? I see conflicting information. Some embassies require one i 134 for fiancee and children and some embassies require an i 134 for each person. Does anyone know what manila embassy requires?

  10. Well we got our new case number for the manila embassy from the NVC. As soon as you get that you can go to US Dept. of State Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw== and track application status. Our status says "ready" at embassy, so as soon as we get all ready my fiancee and set up an interview date. All of the proper forms and instructions needed for medical and the interview are available from the manila embassy website. We are currently gathering all that is needed for the interview and paying fees and such. I still need to call back USCIS, because i understand we will need a copy of the NOA2 for the adjustment of status later.

Just hang in there with the RFE and when you call they mainly read you the info directly for the website (wait times, instructions, ect.) Tell the person you want to speak to a Teir 2, if you dont get a good answer from them, ask to to higher.

  11. Its been more than 60 days on the RFE. USCIS says they will process the RFE within 60 days. I would call USCIS and tell them its been 70 days and you want to speak to tier 2. They should have some information. If you don't get an answer in 2 or 3 weeks call back and tell them you want to speak to an immigration officer. We received an RFE and we never heard that our application was approved until NVC sent us a letter that saying that they had received our approved application and it was being forwarded to the embassy. To this day the USCIS still cannot tell us if we were approved and we have not received an NOA2, so their computer systems and communication are very bad. The USCIS case status check is also not working for a lot of people. Hope that helps.

  12. Our K-1 was approved at uscis vermont on 5/31/13 (info of approval found at department of state site). We did not receive a text or a email or a NOA2 letter and the uscis website shows our case still in "request for evidence and review" stage. Yesterday I received a letter dated 6/5/13 from NVC stating they recently received our approved I-129F petition. Within a week the petition will be fowarded to the appropriate visa issuing post and the embassy will contact your fiance when ready to begin processing their application. There is also a case # given.

Should we call and ask for a copy of the NOA2?

Anyone else had similar happen to them?

Very happy and relieved to be finally approved. yeah oh yeah!!!

  13. October 3rd NOA1 here. When we started out california was fast and VSC slow. Then it was CSC slow and VSC fast. Then to my delight it was VSC fast and we were due to be approved in early april. Now just our luck VSC slow again. I called USCIS on Monday April 15th and they said that VSC was processing October 1st NOA1s and if I did not get approval by the end of the week, for me to call back and they would do a service inquiry. We are now at 6.5 months and waiting. everyone just hang in there i am sure VSC will pick up their speed even if it takes a month to do so. Just wishing it would be soon.

  14. Yes had trouble too. Maybe after today i will get tax transcripts needed. About two and a half weeks ago I ordered tax transcripts over the automated phone ordering system and they never arrived. Today I tried to order online, but I kept getting an error message a saying my address was not correct and my request could not be processed. I tried ordering by phone again but was not sure if it would work, so I called the 1-800 number on the irs website. After two tries of dead end menu searching, I finally reached an operator, who confirmed my address was correct in their system and she also placed my order for tax transcripts for me. I wish i could tell you the exact path to navigate the menu to reach the irs phone representative. I do remember I pressed it was for individual return and then I pressed that i had a question about a current tax return and then there were a couple of more options before the menu finally said please wait while I connect you to a representative. I am sure there are a few menu paths that will reach a phone rep, so just keep trying. There is also good news that I called around 4pm when I thought the system would be too busy to get help, but the automated system said the wait will be between 2 and 4 minutes and it was a short wait.
