I had my biometrics done last week.
Immediately afterward I found another notice in the mail, with a different date of next week. Can somebody suggest what I should do? I'm afraid if I try to cancel the second one, it might get complicated: my entire application might be cancelled by mistake, or it might affect the visit I have already made.
Thanks.

Hi all,
I am not sure if this is normal delay for consulate in Dublin, please help me understand this. NVC says they have sent my case to Dublin on Jan 16th, 2007, it is Feb 21st, well over a month and when I call the consulate in Dublin they claim they haven't received the case. It is a CR1 application, the I-130....whole series done at NVC after USCIS. Please if you have recently dealt with Dublin let us know how long it took for them to receive the NVC packet.
NVC says they are done, nothing they can do for me now, Dublin says they don't have it. I am stuck in the middle. Any help is greatly appreciated. I started this process in May 2006 and thought I was close when NVC completed the case. Not so, it seems. Thanks for your help.

shella,
RFE stands for "Request For Evidence". You'd want to avoid this as much as you can since this delays the processing while they ask you for something, you send it back, they process it and so on. If all your papers are in order you shouldn't need to worry about it.

Hi YuAndDan,
Thank you for responding. I will appreciate if anybody can share their experience for CR1 through Dublin consulate. Thanks again.

Hi everyone,
My wife's case (I am USC and she is the beneficiary for CR1) was completed and sent by NVC to Dublin nearly a month ago. I called up Dublin they say they haven't received anything! I called NVC they say nothing can be done at NVC and yes the packet was sent by DHL and it should have reached a while ago. Has anybody been in this situation before? Please help. Thanks a lot.

Hi Mark,
The message about "information incomplete" happened to me also. Ignore it for a few days, you are almost there. My case has been completed a couple of days ago, so the message didn't mean anything in my case. Good luck.

Hi BelwinMills,
It is a good idea to call NVC for your peace of mind. However, same thing happened to me, i.e. the automated message said something along the lines of "your information is incomplete blah blah" and I got the letter claiming "missing information". I called them a few times and everyone told me to ignore the message if I have already sent my DS-230 papers.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mark,
It took me about 15 days to receive the DS-230 form from NVC. But this was in last Nov. Given that they were closed on holidays a good few days at the end of the year I would say you should receive them any day or in a week or so. Good luck on your journey.

Hi all,
About a week ago my wife (the benefciary) received a packet regarding K3 from the consulate office. Since we are almost at the last stage at NVC for CR1 processing, we are not sure what to do with this K3 issue at this point. We would like to wait for CR1 and are wondering what is the right approach, whether to call consulate and tell them we are not interested in K3 anymore or just wait for a while till they receive CR1 papers? What do you think is the polite and right thing to do? Thanks a lot.

1. My wife (beneficiary) waited until DS-3032 was generated by the NVC system. We didn't however wait to receive it by post (which is indeed the point of emailing).
2. One of the NVC operators told me (I don't know how true that might be) that the email must be sent by the beneficiary from his/her account. I don't know if they verify or how.

How do u become your spouse's agent?
My wife emailed NVC (nvcinquiry@state.gov) requesting choice of agent after DS-3032 was generated. Email seemed much easier and faster option. Make sure you put your NVC case# as the email subject. Hope this helps.

This is an amazing forum, thanks everybody for replying promptly. I am indeed the agent and I will hopefully have the DS-230 from my wife soon. That way I can be ready for next NVC step. Thanks again.

Hi everyone,
I have just received the immigration visa fee bill for $380.00 from the NVC. On the second page I noticed it says "When we receive your Immigration Visa fees, we will send you the Immigration Visa Application (form DS-230 Part I) along with further instructions. Return only the original application that we send to you. Do not use downloaded computer forms". My question is why are they asking to not use computer downloaded forms? Is this new? Or should I ignore it?
Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
As I am preparing to file I-864EZ, I have two questions.
1) -- In I-864EZ form, PART 4, question 16 asks the household size. I understand "do not count anyone twice" applies. 16a is pre-filled and it is 2. 16b is the space for spouse. I am sponsoring my wife so she is already counted in 16a. Should I put 1 in 16b and still count the total as 2 or leave 16b blank?
2) -- Am I right to think that if I meet the income guideline, all I need to submit with I-864EZ is the tax transcript (one page from IRS) for year 2005?
Thanks a lot for your help.

It took about 2 weeks for us. Some may be luckier.

Hi sriniling,
Please take a look at this pdf file at http://www.visajourney.com/examples/NVC_Pr...wchart_v1-2.pdf , even though not quite official I have found it to be very informative on NVC steps.
The next thing is to get paperwork for I-864 and / or immigration visa (IV) fee bill.

as for the W2s they are not needed if you submit a tax transcript with the form
YuAndDan, thank you. However, on page 7 of I-864EZ I find the following.
------------
The following items must be submitted with Form I-864EZ:
For ALL sponsors:
A copy of your individual Federal income tax return, including W-2s for the most recent tax year, or a statementand/or evidence describing why you were not required to file. Also include a copy of each and every Form 1099,Schedule, and any other evidence of reported income. You may submit this information for the most recent three taxyears , pay stub(s) from the most recent six months, and/or a letter from your employer if you believe any of theseitems will help you qualify.
------------
So, the most recent tax year being 2005, I will have the necessary papers for 2005 taxes. But, my current employer name is different, because I joined them only a few days ago. The 864EZ qualifying critereria says, my income must be qualified using a W2. Or perhaps I am reading it wrong?
Thank you.

Hi sriniling,
Your post title suggests you have received the AOS bill. If this is the Affidavit of Support fee letter from NVC then all you need is to send them a money order or cashiers check along with the AOS fee page (send only the bill part, as the instruction says). NVC even provides an addressed envelope for this. Do not send a personal check.
Also there are lot of information on many therads here, eg. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=117
Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,
I am reading I-864EZ instructions pages and this is what it says.
Who may use form I-864EZ?
1.You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130,Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;
2.The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed onthe Form I-130 petition;
3.The income you are using to qualify is based entirely onyour salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).
I am ok with 1 & 2 since I am filing for my wife and she is the only one being sponsored.
However, 3 talks about W2 forms. I have just started my new work a few days ago, that means I won't have a W2 from my current company until next year. I have been making good money, always far exceeding poverty limit, but does this situation (that I have recently started a new job) disqualify me from filing 864EZ version?
Thank you for your help.

I am going to need this information as well. To clarify further, say I have earned $30,000 so far (between Jan 2006 and Oct 2006). But if I have just joined a job that pays $5000/mo shall I write $60,000? Is that correct understanding Yodrak? Thanks a lot.

Hi okapi,
It took nearly 4 and 1/2 months to get I-130 approval for me. I hope yours come through sooner, but no need to get all worried. As you have noticed some people are luckier than others but that 's how it is with USCIS, quite unpredictable. Hang in there...

It might be difficult to prove the amount of money you have under your bed. It might be even more difficult to explain why you keep such a large amount of unrecorded cash. It might also be difficult to explain a sudden large deposit into your bank account especially when you are unemployed.
What I meant was, it is gathering dust in savings account in a bank and not earning in some stocks & bonds portfolio.

On a related note, if my next job requires a move (change of address) will that affect the processing time? Has anybody moved while this CR1 process is pending?
Thanks a lot.

simple_male,
Thank you. I am indeed reading about James' shortcut and other details. I am thinking of using email method of requesting agent choice as soon as I know 3032 is generated. I read it somewhere on visajourney it worked for some.

I got two biometric appointments

Maybe I didn't make it clear. I got the second letter on my arrival home from the appointment. So that means the letter was dispatched before I went for the biometrics. That means it has nothing to do with the outcome of the first appointment.
Both have same information, different date only.
Any help would be appreciated.
