      No. You just need to bring it to the Interview with you. Since it's attached to the passport, leave it attached :) No more money.

      @dhaiti20: They will probably request that you bring the original receipt. However, your interview shouldn't be any further than mid-Feb. So, no worries. Unless you are missing other documents that they think would take a while to get...

    To God be the GLORY! Today my life has changed... :) I am one step closer to being a Mrs! Our visa was APPROVED today! The interview went great...I would like to especially thank @Barbie_Vazquez for all her help and support! Also, @selavi, @dhaiti20, and @Madame Nafe! You guys are awesome!!!

      congratulations! We had our interview the same day and were approved. I forgot to look for you until we were leaving. We were finished and in our car by 8:30!! That was much faster than I thought it would be.

      @A+B! Congrats to you as well!!! We were there around the same time, but yours was way shorter! I was telling O while we were going there to remind me to look for you, but the stress made us forget! But if you were with your husband and child, I might have seen you! You did leave early :) Congrats again! Yay for both of us!!!

    Sent the Package. Haiti Messenger Appointment: January 8. Not sure if I'm sad or happy about this! But since this is the start of the Holiday period--I'll take it for what it is: Another Step Done! Yay!

      Yes, I think you should start now. You can fill out all the forms and not sign or date them yet. It will speed up the process once you receive the package. But wait until you get the approval to request the letters from the bank and your employer so that the letters have a closer date to your approval. The only papers you will need to send to your fiance are your information for the I-134 Affidavit of Support, a newly dated intent to marry letter, a copy of the notices (receipt and approval) ...

      USCIS is supposed to expedite all Haiti cases, but all the adjudicators are not aware of that. You have to call and remind them of the notice on the USCIS website. Just search "Haitian relatives" on USCIS website and you'll see.

    Wedding Planning Mode... I'm usually a relaxed person, but this planning is driving me crazy! Now that I have to pay for everything and plan a wedding for June. All the venues seem to be taken :(

    Just read this on the Immigrant Fee (www.uscis.gov/ImmigrantFee): Children who enter the United States under either the Orphan or Hague adoption programs, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants, returning residents (SB-1s), and those issued K visas are the only immigrant visa cases exempt from paying the new fee.

      Does that mean K1 are exempt from paying the fee? And if you already paid, can you get a refund?

      Yep, that's what it means... K1, K2, K3 do not pay the immigrant fee as their visa type is a non-immigrant one.

    Yay! Hubby's Card is Coming Soon! Because our USCIS status update today: "On December 13, 2013, we ordered production of your new card." Thank you LORD!! No Interview, no RFE! Approved in less than 5 months!

    Made the civil surgeon appointment today (although still overseas) for May 9! Receptionist said the most we'll pay is $100--but the Dr might only charge $50 if all his shots are up-to-date!
