  1. hello forum - I have not posted since we were granted our K1 in Kingston, my fiance came to Texas and we married Dec. 1. 2012. K1 has run out but I-94 active and filed 485 AOS and 765 EAD receipt dated Feb 6th, Had finger prints taken March. Got a RFI for more income support proof - they received my "thorough" response March 14th. I believe the National Service Center is processing us.

    A few questions please:

    1) anyone have experience close to mine with approx. wait time for EAD? I guess we get a letter next when that is approved and saying go to get the card at a local office??? about 60 days?

    2) so if I am reading right - my husband cannot travel outside US (back to Jamaica) until the perm. residency is approved and we get his green card. which is around a year wait????

    3) we want to bring the kids over eventually to live with us but probably not within a year of the K1 approval - so if after that time I guess we have to do a 130 process for each child (there are 5) - are they processed together? approx. cost? We listed them on our original approved 129F but listed as not traveling with at this time......

Thanks for help - I know these questions have been asked and answered so feel free to just link me up or tell me where to look. All the websites are great but overwhelming to navigate sometimes. Thanks so so much. Good luck to all in process - ONE LOVE

  2. Pinkr its been a comfort taking this journey with you. We wish you guys JOY and LOVE all your days.

Shawna - thanks we are so happy.

3:30 pm HE called and said he had it in his HAND. Spending the night in Mobay and his flight will leave JA 2:00 pm and I should hug his neck on US soil around 6:30......O M G

  3. Hi Tberta - I will share my experience but first congratulations!!

We were approved and my fiance has 6 children (5 of his own and 1 he has raised as his own). We listed them all on the 129F application when asked if he has children. When we got our interview letter it listed my fiance and ALL the children and we told them in person the day of the interview that we hoped they could visit in the future and possibly come to US at some point but there were no plans at this point. Our letters included words telling our intentions of support and future visits/immigrating also.

So just having children is not a reason they would deny you - the process is very detailed so as long as all is in order you should not have problems. That said, the embassy does have discretion on things so I still held my breath until he came out and said we were approved. Most times from what I have read here there are followup interviews if there is more paperwork needed or conflicting information in the application. I would think denial would be for reasons like failing a background check or something like that!

But hopefully more will chime in as they know the process MUCH more than I do. Best of luck and as hard as it is try not to worry. Make sure all is in order and keep the faith.

  4. OK - DHL online tracking at 7:49 am this morning says LEFT KINGSTON............. wooooooo hooooooo.

Its a miracle but still waiting for it to say READY. DHL said after 3:30 it should be logged in Mobaby but not be ready for pickup until tomorrow.

    Watching for confirmation. Getting close!!!!!

Thank you all for your support!

    Bless

    Sweetness

  5. I have been refreshing the DHL Tracking page every 10 minutes for weeks and weeks now. Obsessively (lol)

Finally just this moment - the first update online since November 16th......says ON HOLD at Kingston but at least its something.

The runs to Mobay are Tues and Thurs so praying it leaves Kingston tomorrow........STANDING STRONG in faith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. The words I have been waiting to hear: got an email from the embassy this morning and it said:

Please contact the courier service. The package has been delivered to DHL.

However, yesterday afternoon (after 3:30) DHL said no package and they had already gotten the deliveries for the day. So back on the phone to see what DHL says this morning......oh my.

  7. MrsO bless you and yours. Your words are a comfort.

Pinkr I have been in daily contact with the Embassy and Dept of State. The info above is as of today. Thanks for posting. It helps to know others care who have been thru the process.

  8. UPDATE:

Our interview for our K1 Visa was one month ago today. We were approved and have been waiting and WAITING for the visa to be issued, printed and sent by DHL to Montego Bay.

Oct 31 the embassy called my fiance (I was still in JA then) after some discussion the Officer told him it would be ready for pickup Nov 8 or 9. I wrote the Embassy via email last Monday and they said it would be another week so we hoped for yesterday or today (12/13th).

I called the Dept of State and they said Congratulations! it was issued last Thursday the 8th. DHL confirmed by phone that it still has not left the embassy by DHL and that my online tracking will tell me when it does. I have sent another email to the Embassy (I try to limit my inquiries to one per week as they requested). So no answer this time (so far). DHL did say they send the shipments Tues and Thurs each week which was helpful information. She said it did not come today so now we are HOPING it is sent on Thursday. I did not expect it to take this long after the interview approval to get the visa. We had no problems, great file, etc. The storm did delay things a few days but a MONTH? I know its different for each case but this has been a HUGE test of faith and fortitude. Not sure if I should ask my Congressman to help or just keep waiting - each week they say one more week though.

Please send positive thoughts out for us this week.

    Thank you for listening.

  9. heavy sigh.....got a reply to an email I sent to the Embassy on Monday. They confirmed that the visa is in administrative processing going to PRINT.

They said it "could" be another week before its ready and then will have to travel by DHL from Kingston to Mobay.

I am so tired of waiting but no choice. So stressful regarding the plane tickets being available and affordable by the time we get notice the visa is ready for pickup. At the ready but I pray its by the end of this week. Our interview was Oct 12th and we are still waiting waiting waiting.......Monday will be a month.

  10. Any info on meeting fiance at the Airport for the POE process? Gonna fly him direct from Jamaica to Houston and then drive down and meet him. This is so he will only have to deal with one airport. I assume they will fingerprint him and take him aside for a few questions. I don't think they will let me be there for that but I hope maybe I can go meet his plane? or will I be forced to wait at baggage area only??? I guess I can go look on TSA website. Anyone have experience?

  11. thx all Already feeling better and see my Dr. tomorrow. Hoping all goes well with the actual pickup and that he can make his way to US easily. I told him there will be lots of kind people that can help him if he has questions along the way. I prefer to be with him but he will be fine. I will keep you all posted how it goes at the end of the week.

best to all on their journey

  12. Well UPDATE for us:

We had no activity thru the storm and then got a call middle of the week from the embassy. The agent told my Mr. that he needed a Canadian police report (lol) Oh my. He has worked there on a work visa the last two years (3-4 mths at a time) but never lived there. He explained and the agent said let me ck your file again and call you back. She did and said no Canadian Police report needed (no kidding). And it would be two more wks and the visa will be ready. He choked and said NO SOONER? She said well the soonest they could have it ready is Thurs or Friday of next week. Oh my.

I had been sick so he insisted I come to the US and he would wait for the visa next week. So I got home today and although sad we won't fly home together it is best - so hopefully it will show ready for pickup at the end of the wk and he can fly hopefully to Austin next weekend. and so it goes.............

PINKR - CONGRATS on getting yours!!!!!!!!
