They did take his certificate to send it in with the application for the passport. The certificate came back under separate cover from his passport and arrived the very next day after his passport arrived.

After my husband's oath ceremony (Sept. 23rd) there were tables set up for 1) voter registration, 2) social security, 3) passport. He did all three while there. Passport came a week later, voter registration card came 2 days ago, new ss card (same number of course) came yesterday. If you can do everything at the oath ceremony I recommend it, easy, efficient (in our case anyway), no hassleing with anybody afterward. Piece of cake!

Hubby and I went to his oath ceremony this morning in Denver at some place called Teikyo Loretto Heights Theater, I think it's a school of some sort. There were 290 new citizens from 70 countries. It was fun to watch as the speaker called out the countries and the new citizens stand up. There was quite a chuckle when he said Mexico and it seemed half the floor stood up! We saw the video of Bush welcoming the new citizens and there was a montage video of the american landscapes and footage of new citizens from other places in the country with a very popular song about the USA (sorry, I can't remember the name or the singer). The oath and pledge of allegiance were very solemn but loud applause when it was all over. And then their certificates were passed out to them. Wonderful!

Then he regsitered to vote, had to fill out a form for his social security number then moved on to passport application. His photos were too small (he got them taken in Morocco) so we couldn't do it there. So we came back to Boulder, went and got new photos taken then buzzed on over to the post office and finished up applying there. So... everything is done!

Thanks so much to everyone on VJ, this site has bee a tremendous help! From when I registered here (March 2004) up until now I was an avid reader, but not so much a poster, I found so many answers without having to ask! And enjoyed reading of everyone's successes.

We were married on August 15, 2003 and on my return I started processing the papers for his K3 visa. It took all this time to get this far (and waiting nearly 18 months for 10yr gc was no help!) but we did it!!! The journey is over for us!!

Well, my husband didn't make his oath ceremony, the letter came about 6 - 7 days after his interview, and he had left for morocco in the meantime, thinking it would take a long time. What a predicament! All I could do was type the letter explaining the situation and send it along with the oath letter. That oath ceremony was on August 20th in Denver. Mid last week in the mail arrived a notice of action that said: "This is to advise you that, as requested, we have canceled the Oath Ceremony appointment on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 9:15am for the above applicant. We will advise you of anyfurther action taken on this case, including any rescheduled Oath Ceremony appointment information, under separate notice." The NOA was dated August 29th. My heart kind of sunk at the 'advise you of any further action' part. I could only wonder what that meant! And I was so angry with him for not waiting it out! I still am.....

Then yesterday in the mail arrived another 'invitation' (as I call it) to attend the Oath Ceremony held on Tuesday, September 23rd at 8:45am at another place in Denver. He WILL NOT miss this one!

I hope this information is helpful for others who are facing a similar situation.

I have a question though, all the boxes except for 'other' are checked on the letter. Doesn't he need to take just take his 10 yr. gc? What other immigration documents are they talking about? And he won't have a reentry permit.

Wow, well, interview was August 5th, oath letter mailed on August 9th, received on August 13th. Oath date is on August 20th at #######'s Sporting Goods Park. In Commerce City (for all you Denver metro folks). #######'s Sporting Goods has their own park? Report to Gate B, Secion 3. Who knew!! Can't wait to see this place! And fittingly enough, it is located on "Victory Way"!

Hubby had his interview on Tuesday (Aug. 5th) and was only in for 20 minutes. Interviewer told him how much she loved Marrakech and said how lovely Morocco was then said let's get started. Asked how we met, did we have any kids (no). Asked 6 questions about constitution etc., asked him to read 3 sentences and write one. Said congratulations you've been approved and gave him the paper stating so. She said he'd hear in about 3 weeks or so when the oath ceremony would be. So, it's finally over.

Makes me wonder though why we even spent the $275 for the lifting of conditions. Took forever for his 10 yr gc to arrive, only to have applied for naturalization in the meantime. Nice chunk of change to have just thrown away.... grrrrrr

Yep, apparently minimum 4 times is correct. Hubby did indeed have biometrics 4 times since 2004, this last time for naturalization. So I guess he's done! yay!!!!!

Hubby got his interview letter in the mail today, his interview will be August 5th at 8:50 am in Denver. Whoo-hoo!!!!

Hubby had his biometrics yesterday, his appt. was at 10:00, we got there at 9:40 (we always leave early since it's about an hour drive to the place, and you never know with road work and stuff...) they took him right away and he was done at 9:50! Now he just waits for his interview....

I don't know what I did wrong, but our biometrics date keeps getting dropped from the list. Could the list keeper please put that in for us? Thanks! Biometrics tomorrow, 5/30

Oh Onur, that's wonderful news, congratulations! I'm so happy for you!!!

Since your wife is a LPR (even though removal of conditions is pending - the LPR is extended automatically) go ahead and file for citizenship. Many people have done this - they will adjudicate the I751 concurrently, if its not done by that time, so its not a big deal. I intend to do the same for my wife whether the greencard is received or not in 8 months. Good Luck

Sure, you can do that. We did. Look at our timeline.

When I got home from work I found hubby's 10 yr green card in the mail!! whoo-hooo!!! And... a 'receipt with exception' for the N-400, it states our app was received and is in process but is missing some evidence (I can't believe it!!! I printed out the check list of what to send and we sent it all!) that we will need to bring with us at the time of his interview. They will send us another notice of what to bring to the interview, don't send anything by mail. Fine. The notice also stated to expect to be notified within 240 days of this notice. We also received an NOA for his biometrics, he goes May 30th at 10:00 am. So here we go again.... let's see this makes at least 3, maybe 4 times we've gone for fingerprinting in the last 4 1/2 years....

When I got home from work, what did I find? Hubby's 10 yr green card in the mail, along with 'receipt with exception' NOA for the N-400, AND the NOA for biometrics! wow, what a haul!! Now I'll hop over to the naturalization forum to explain the 'receipt with exception' in case anyone's curious....

We mailed ours in on May 7th, check cashed May 16th. Just waiting on the NOA....

Congratulations everyone, seems things are running at lightening speed now! We even received another email from CRIS saying they mailed out the approval notice on the 15th, and on the 16th our check was cashed for the N-400. Our mailbox should be overflowing with all this good news soon! And more good news for us, hubby's surgery went beautifully, took half his thyroid with a growth the size of a lemon on it, but it was non-cancerous and he's so happy he can now sleep and breathe without difficulty. What a beautiful month May has been for us, yippeee!!!

Thanks for updating us on here, it's been so long I forgot how!! Wow, really seems like things are finally moving, congratulations to everyone getting approved, and hang in there everybody else, I really thought we'd never get approved, it took nearly 16 months but it DID finally happen!!
