I've read one of the things to take when finally moving to the US is a copy of my medical records. My doctor of course will not give me a copy of my records but has asked for a fee before I leave and when I find a doctor in the US a copy will then be sent. Has anyone else had a problem receiving a copy of their own medical records? Could this cause some trouble for me when I do try and find a doctor in the US or is this standard practice? From what I've read others were just able to obtain their records themselves. Thanks for any help on this.

Tell him to speak with the HR (Human Resources) department.
Maybe his employer is 'confused' as to what the letter is suppose to say.
If he needs this letter, HR can do it & should.
It was HR that told him that it's company policy not to use company letter head. But it seems it may not be required from what people are saying. He's been with the company for 15 years now and can provide pay stubs and tax returns. Hopefully that will be enough. Thank you all for your help.

Let him write his own letter that he is employed at said company and get it notorized and have his current pay stub to go along with it. Thats the only thing I can suggest he do.
That's a great idea. Thank you so much.

Anyone ever come across this? My fiance works for one of top two grocery chains in the US and they won't provide him with a letter stating employment info on company letter head. The consulate will need to call and request the info themselves. Are you kidding?? lol

Thanks for the input everyone. I was expecting a fee, just a little bothered that a copy won't be given to me but only sent after I find a doctor. Thanks again all.
