When my husband gets his CR-1 visa approved in Ankara, Turkey (embassy changed from my timeline), how long before he can enter the United States?

Is there an expiration date as to when he should be in the US from when he gets the CR-1 visa??

Also, if a case is expedited, shouldn't we get an e-mail from NVC stating that our case was approved for expediting?

My case was expedited. Does that make a difference?

Isn't it better if NVC schedules the interviews?

Because once it is abroad and in the hands of the embassy to schedule the interviews, I heard it may get lost, or the embassy may just ignore it. Is that correct??

I am getting extremely nervous. I am beginning to think that an expedite is maybe not such a good idea.

My husband's CR-1 case was completed at the NVC in July 2012. His case was sent to US embassy in Armenia today, but we still do not have an interview date yet. Is that normal? Do they first send out the case and then give us a date for the interview????

When I asked the operator at NVC, she said it is up to the embassy as to when they will give us an interview date, but they are going to send our case to them today!

Please help and let me know if this is the normal procedure for NVC? Has anyone else gone through this??
