  1. Hi Everyone!

It's been awhile since I have last been on here and I forgot how addicting it is to read through all the forums! My husband's conditional GC expires on the 26th of September so we are actually cutting it pretty close since we just submitted today :-\ I am not sure if I am doing this correctly but I would like to be added to the list.

We are filing to the CA Service Center. I rushed to put together the packet so here is what we included:

    1 - Cover Letter

    2 - Check for $590

    3 - i-751 + Address History

4 - Picture of his GC, Work Visa, Passport, and Driver Licenses

5 - Evidence: 2012 & 2013 Taxes, 2013 & 2014 Lease Agreements, Joint Bank Statements, Joint Car Title, 2013 & 2014 Trips and supporting pictures. I didn't put in any beneficiary information since I couldn't figure out how to get it off my work portal (and to be honest I was relatively rushed and just put it together this morning) but now I'm regretting it!

After reading here, I also forgot to put 'Attention: Removing Conditions i-751' on the address label. Is that a crucial step that I missed?

Your insight into this is greatly appreciated! Good luck!

  2. my husband came in on an ESTA visa as well. we went and made an INFOPASS appointment in order to address this and were advised that in the portions of the application where it requires you to input the i-94 information, you just put 'Visa Waiver Program'. that is what we did and i included a copy of his esta printout in the AOS package just incase and we were approved without issue. good luck!

  3. honestly, i would apply together because then you don't have to pay the fee on it. plus, if you apply it with the work authorization visa (i765) they send you what is called a combo card that is both your employment authorization plus advance parole. my husband has yet to travel but i have read that sometimes the advance parole only works once or they forget about it and it can take longer than 3 months. again, just what i have read.

    good luck!

  4. hi there, my husband came over on visa waiver program and didn't even have a i-94. we travelled within the US a ton while he was here and his application was pending. The airport just needs an ID that matches a ticket. As long as you do not leave the country, he can travel freely within.

  5. Hi Everyone,

My husband is going to get his Driver's License today and I am just curious if there is anything that he needs to bring outside of the standard. Right now he has his Social Security Card, Green Card, and proof of address...is there anything else? He has his UK License on him just in case but will he need to take a test and everything? Your insight into this is greatly appreciated! Please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Natalie

  6. hi there, i apologize but do you mind letting me know why you need a certificate of employment if he has tax transcripts and current pay stubs? i would think this would be enough proof? i tried to google but couldn't see what form this is for. i was just seeing if there was anything else he could produce that may suffice as i would think everything you have actually trumps a certificate written by hr

  7. hi there, i have always used crown relocations for all of my international moves. part of their 'perk' is they pack and unpack you for customs reasons but you might want to try them. they have always been the most affordable option for myself and the company i worked at and they have always been on time and very professional with their communication at both ends. good luck!

  8. we had this same issue too. once you submit the aos documents, it voids whatever visa he came in with and goes to pending aos status (or something like that). once james got his ead, he got a social security card but we found out he really can't do anything with it except apply for a job (build credit etc.). we tried to get a drivers license but they said he will need to get another one once he gets his green card so we just decided to wait since we already had an interview appointment.

    good luck!
