No both parents were born in Canada BUT I do not own a long form copy of my birth certificate... maybe that's the issue?

The CO did not indicate verbally or written (on the refusal worksheet) that any other docs were needed... I guess if they do need more I'll have to wait to hear from them .

Had my interview today and thought all went well but apparently it didn't - although they kept my passport (is this a good sign????).

The very friendly CO said I'm approving this however it will need some AP, they will email you if they need anything or will send your passport via Loomis for pick up.

I heard approved and didn't think to ask any questions... once I realized what happened it was too late .

I have seen a few posts re AP from people who reside in other countries, who did not attend a US Consulate in Canada, and their scenarios don't fit quite with mine. Has anyone attended the MTL or BC consulate and recieved the dreaded AP status? Can you shed some light on how long it took, what they needed etc? Anyone.. Anyone... Bueller, Bueller....

We think so too. We are still waiting for confirmation if our Jakarta embassy has received our case. We called and emailed them about our Packet 3, we only received auto response with no follow-up.

Can we ask which Department of State phone numbers did you call to get the updated status?

The number I called for the Department of State (located in Washington, DC) is 202-663-1225. Both times I spoke to people who could tell me the date Packet 3 was mailed and to what address. Good Luck!

WHEW!!!! Crisis averted.. called the Dept of State again and was told since packet 3 was mailed I can go online, get packet 3 info and send it in. In the meantime I am to email Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov to have them change my address.

Wiping my tears of frustration away now!

Do you recall the email address you used. I have emailed 2 different addresses and both came back with auto replies that they don't assist with this type of query.

I'm distraught over the run around I've been given.. I spend an entire work day trying to figure this out, any info you can provide would be beyone appreciated.

Hi fellow journeymen/women,

I just found out from the Dept of State that my packet 3 was mailed from Montreal (MTL) on Aug 3. It is now Aug 28 and nada.

I have scoured the internet trying to find a way to contact MTL with no luck... beside an email address which advises they will reply in 4 weeks!!!!

Anyone out there have this issue? Any suggestions?
