  1. Dear All,

    Arrived in U.S, No questioned asked by the Immigration officer at the port of entry (Baltimore/Washington).

    Every thing went smoothly. At New Delhi Immigration few questions asked about why my U.S visa cancelled/revoked and cleared after 15-20 minutes.

    BTW, SSN is not process at the POE; we should apply at the local Social Security Administration for SSN.

    I wish all the best for the others waiting for I-601 approval and visa and arriving in U.S.

    Thank you and God bless you.

  2. Congratulations!

    You are an intending immigrant and everything completed and processed at Visa issuing post.

    It simply means that the visa was issued after a waiver under section 212(g) was approved.

    Immigrant visa will not be denied at the port of entry. CBP officers will not re-scrutinize his/her case at the POE.

    This is straight forward to complete the formalities required for the endorsement of his/her immigrant visa.

    NO secondary inspection done by CBP.

    Nothing will be brought up about I- 601 Waiver or anything, just common conversation while completing the final processing.

    During the conversation with CBP officer, the following is done.

    -> Finger printing/scanning

    -> Picture/Photgraph taken

    -> Order Green Card & Social Security Number

    -> Endorse temporary PR stamp in the Passport

  3. DOS can't check the status ( pending administrative process ) unless visa is printed and placed in the passport, status change to approved visa.

    Did you still got your visa after your case randomly went into AP for 2 weeks ??

    ======================================================================================================================================================

    Call DOS and check status. Ours said the same thing even though we were approved at the interview, but our case randomly went into AP for 2 weeks and DOS was the only one that could confirm. Call them for an update.

  4. Refused under section 212(a)(6)© of the Immigration and Nationality Act for having been sought and obtained a visa by willful misrepresentation of a material fact made to a consular officer during her non immigrant visa interview in 2008 (obtained visa b1/b2 for 10 years).

  5. My case is just over a year old. Today, I went to U.S Consulate with the documents requested. I entered the building at 9.00 am; the Indian officer took all my documents and asked me to seat and wait for the interview. After waiting for few hours, my name was called. The female Consular officer ask few questions and took my signature and told me to raise my hand and sworn. And then she ask me for the original Police Clearance Certificate and I said it’s attached to the passport. She verified PCC and other documents in the system and told me that visa has been issued and you’ll receive it in 1 week.

  6. 7. It appears Administrative Processes has completed with our case. We got a e-mail from U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai.

    Her case is over a year old, she must return to the Consulate any business day at 7:15 a.m. with the following documents:

    - 2X2 Photograph of herself;

    The Consulate also informed us; that she must pay an additional courier fee of Rs.393 in cash, per applicant at her local VFS office before returning to the Consulate.

    Thanks for the information and please keep me posted.

  8. I really appreciate if anyone of you could post the time frame, instruction letter and next steps of the process for Mumbai U.S Consulate. If I-601 wavier Approved in past few months and you got your visa stamped in Mumbai U.S Consulate.

    We really thought it is over after wavier application was approved.

    Any suggestion why they put our case in Administrative processing ?

    What is the time frame to complete this process? Is it mandatory for everyone?

    What kind of administrative processing they are talking about?

    This is so depressing and worrying and seems there’s no end. Processing time, which is the scary part of AP.

    In spite of, I-601 wavier approvals, US Consulate Mumbai holding cases on administrative processing.

    Thanks.

  9. On May 22, 2012, we submitted I-601 Waiver at the U.S Consulate Mumbai.

    23 days after USCIS, New Delhi, received our I-601 Application.

    It's a miracle, it's amazing and its by the grace of God!

  10. Recently, my mother got approved I-601, Application for wavier for “misrepresentation”.

    2X2 Photograph of yourself.

    Help with DS-230, Question # 17 about “Spouse Occupation” & IRS Tax Returns & W2.

    My father is filing DS-230 Part 1 and Part 2 on behalf of my mom’s Immigrant Visa. However, I have a question regarding Page 1, Question #17 about “Spouse Occupation” because we do not want to do anything wrong to delay the process or the Consular would find another misrepresentation.

    IT asks about “Spouse Occupation”: Since 2003 to present, my father has worked as an “Religious worker/Priest” and will continue to do so. This is his main job and will continue to be. However, he is a non-salaried religious/missionary worker.

    After getting his Green Card in 2009 he took another job in addition to the Religious worker/Priest job, to assist in his finances and in hopes that my mother will soon be able to join him from India. Therefore, in addition, he now works as a XXXXXX to be able to support him and my mother.

    I am unsure if he is required or supposed to put this down as his “Occupation”. He considers his main occupation to be a “Religious worker/Priest” but claim his income as a XXXXXX and this job does not affect his occupation as an Religious worker/Priest. He received his Immigrant Visa in 2009 based on being a religious worker and continues to keep this commitment.

    Currently my mother is gaining an Immigrant visa as a dependent of a religious worker through filing I-824, (following –to-join). US Consulate knows that my father Immigrant visa was issued specifically for religious work. He is also submitting to U.S Consulate with his W-2 & US federal income tax returns for the most recent year 2011 filed through his 2nd job as a XXXXXX.

    If you could kindly advise me: does he need to mention both titles as “Spouse Occupation”? I am also concerned his W-2 & US federal income tax returns) filed through his 2nd Job as XXXXXX that my father going to submit to the US Consulate.

    Question, after 6 months of receiving green card, can he work other jobs in addition to the Religious worker/Priest job?

    Thank you for your assistance.
