  1. in US?

Call that number and then I think it is press 1 then press 0

Yes. That is the Visa Department of the Department of State in the US. They can only provide informational stuff. The consulate has to issue packages( mail them out) and set interview dates.

Since Vietnam is difficult to find information. The DOS can tell you if package 3 is sent. if package 4 sent, if they set interview date…so on...

  2. Update…

An appointment letter was emailed to me from the HCMC Consulate off an inquiry submitted through the web link. YEAH. This took a few days but surprisingly fairly quick response. Now we can proceed and hopefully I don't miss anything or there was no other specific information in Package4 for SO.

According to SO you can no longer get documents by visiting the consulate as she was turned away when asking for a copy of the Appointment letter. She presented her Passport and the NVC approval letter. (consulate already had package 3 and we had an interview date assigned as per phone call to DOS). She was told it would arrive in the mail. I am doubtful as we never got package 3, why would package4 be any different.

Best Solution: Email through the portal, now for the next challenge.

  3. Once it got to the HCMC consulate, We have not had any mail (snail mail ) notifications, documents and no email notifications. From everything i read they sMAIL to the petitioner.

Since you can not email the consulate directly anymore (and get an automated kickback message) You have to send any inquiries through the HTML website inquiry portal. I did this to confirm package 3 receipt by consulate, and why I called DOS for update on interview date after not getting any notifications from the inquiry on package4. (again not receiving anything by (s)mail.) DOS told me interview date was issued. Since We never saw package 3 arrival in the mail, I am to assume the same of package4 in Viet.

I have received NOA2 by mail from NVC and following the process with contact to NVC..and now DOS stateside (via phone) but that doesn't help me with the appointment letter and any package 4 documents specific to the petitioner.

Other than the appointment letter is there any other papers specific to the petitioner in package 4?

(off the Consulate website, I downloaded package 3 and same with package4).

"mfranc68" yes USCIS and NVC have email address many times on multiple forms. and filled out Electronic notification as well at the very beginning. It was verified again at NVC they have email addresses.

  4. fellow Viet VJ'rs

We have not received Package 4 in the mail. (package 3 never arrived either) I have confirmed with DOS that an appointed date has been set via phone. How do I get a copy of the appointment letter. Also is there specific documentation sent in Package 4 for us? I thought I read somewhere there is petitioner specific document needed for the Medical to present to them for physical.

Can SO go to the consulate to get a copy of this? if so, what will she need a copy of NVC NOA2 with case number? and her passport?

    Thanks

I need SO to get medical and pay fees…. so on.

Also need Appointment letter for Final Documents.

  5. Curious if they have been fulfilling the "2 week" delivery. Our interview is approaching and need to schedule work, projects and travel. Delivery would be just outside HCMC. Anyone have verification of the 2weeks from interview. (assuming we get PINK) :)

  6. Hello fellow VJ'rs,

Subject: Changing Beneficiary Address for K visa (Foreign Fiancee address change)

I have found a few posts on here about this topic and wanted to post this experience for additional information of how it worked for me as most are worried about the mailed packages going to the wrong address of the beneficiary. (Typically can additionally download the packages from the corresponding consulate website) It is still something we want corrected for multiple reasons.

I can not speak for other ways to do this but this was EXTREMELY simple for me, and timing was the key. From research that others have tried, this was My steps.

step 1: On notification of NOA2, I called the NVC at 603-334-0700. This is usually a busy signal and once in phone system plan for a hold.

Step 2: Once on phone with someone, Provide your USCIS Receipt number (found on NOA1/NOA2), Beneficiary's Name and Birth Date, and Petitioners Name and Birth date.

Step 3: Explain what you want to do. (Change Beneficiary address.) and give them the new address.

    Done…. and simple

    Now some notes-

The first time I called it was too soon from approval of NOA2 and my documents were not in the NVC system, so I was told to call back in a few days. The friendly operator explained to me that this usually takes a week from NOA2 notification.

She also explained that since it was a K visa the processing of my petition does not stay at NVC long before being transferred onto the Beneficiary country. (as little as a week, but could be longer) SEE GUIDES for estimated durations. So timing is the key for this method.

Additionally, I also corrected my address at the same time, just giving it to her over the phone. so simple. (my local government changed my street address from "xxxx Street" to "xxxx Ave")

    Hope this helps others!

  7. Thanks.

I do plan to go to the interview.

I already have several pictures with the family from previous visits, including a family trip to their "Hometown" together, submitted in original I-129f. I love taking pictures and have learned now that we need more pictures showing together, than one of each at the same event.

It is a very bonafide relationship that has grown over 2 yrs and several visits to country. Since most travel is done via bus/vehicle and hotel receipts just place me in country. I have past flights putting us together within last 2 years. I believe I have satisfied all requisites so far.

I will download both packages and review them. Other than more bonafide relationship and USC ability to support. Now it is her for documentation?

I am just trying to ease the process and look forward to what else is needed. So we are not rushing around later. And some "ah" I didn't think of that.

  8. Make sure she understand what all needs to be taken to the interview and that you are both working to address all of those documents... download pkt 3 & 4 and make a checklist of what is required... go down the list and work through it together.

What needs to be notarized? Where can I download package 3 and 4?

I plan to have much discussion of the upcoming process with her to ease her understanding of what I am looking for. Also to prepare her for the work that is required by her to do.

I am concerned that If I do something to early it will be required to be done again...

Thanks, this site is such an amazing resource.

  9. Shortly I will be traveling to visit my fiancee in Viet and have "le Dinh Hon" (engagement ceremony). We are planning something modest, and a little mix of both west and east.

This will be photographed and video taped with her family. I didn't know back before starting this process, but the dinh hon is a throw down party, much like a western reception after the wedding as much as i can tell.

My question is while I am there, are there things we can be doing to ease the future process? We have NOA1 but only about a month. I plan to give her the copy of the original package so i don't have to send it. Is there anything else I can accomplish now on this trip?

Visit the embassy? start any processes for her, police report, ect.

    Suggestions.
