Yah, I am pretty sure that my case is one of the most roughest cases. It got 2 times checklist at NVC and 2 months 22 days expansion of DNA testing process

However, I would like to inform you guys that my case has been approved! So excited to wait for visa-in-hand.

After receiving the DNA result, the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh will process my case in 1 week and three days. I emailed them to ask whether I can go to submit the passport. And it worked, instead of waiting for the letter!

HO CHI MINH. You may come to our office from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, except Wednesdays, to submit the passport for visa issuance. You should bring this email and any documents bearing the case number HCM XXXX-XXX-XXX.

Yesterday (07/06) I went to US Consulate to submit copy of DNA result + FedEx tracking number in hope of boosting up the process but it didn't work. The CO required me to give them a certain of time to process. They told me to wait.

Ok let's clear my DNA process for those who are interested in.

22-03 : Interview failed - DNA requested by US Consulate ( by 221(g) OF-194 form)

23-03: Father contacted the DNA center ( my exp is that please choose one that in your state so that DNA center can send your result quickly.)

25-03: Father went to local lab to take the specimen collection and paid off the fee (mine is $620)

28-03: The specimen KIT went to US Consulate

04-04: I tried to call the IOM in which is responsible for the DNA Test in Vietnam for US Consulate. They told me the appointment date earlier than the appointment letter.

08-04: I received the appointment letter from US Consulate.

22-05: I went to take the specimen collection at Us consulate.

29-05: The result released.

03-06: The result went to US Consulate

07-06: My father got the copy of result and scanned it to me.

07-06: I went to US Consulate to submit the result but they told me to wait.

That's it. I will keep updated my case.

FYI,

Since I am an out-of-wedlock child, DNA test is a must. I believe my case's evidence of relationship is not tie enough to persuade the CO.

Okay, I got your point. However, I don't know whether they would require DNA test or not. I can tell your family that the DNA cost in Vietnam is around 7,000,000 VND (3 years ago).

The CO might ask your stepchild some questions.

As far as I know, the DNA test will take place at US Consulate.

I don't think it'd work. The CO might not believe that kind of proof. They want your finance and daughter to take the DNA test at their pointed places.

My father and I have taken the DNA test at "Benh Vien Truyen Mau Huyet Hoc Trung Uong", which is the famous one about DNA testing in Vietnam. When the CO looked our DNA test, they said "Is this DNA result pointed by USCIS? If not, it is invalid to us. You must take the DNA test in standard of AABB."

Today, IOM just informed my DNA testing appointment by phone, it will be on May 22nd.

US Consulate at HCM only take DNA tesing every Wednesday afternoon.

Let me clarify my case.

My father's name wasn't in my birth certificate until 2010. He came back to VN to take DNA test required by Tien Giang Department of Justice to put his name on my birth cerf. The result is 99.99%.

However, the problem is that that lab is not AABB accredited. Therefore, the CO required my family to take the DNA test again.

I don't know how if the father's name has put on birth certificate right after his son's birthday.

I am a son born out-of-wedlock.

My father has petitioned me last year. He was approved at USCIS.

Although my father has my name on the birth certificate, the CO still require a DNA test. It might be the relationship's evidence was not tie enough. (No photo in my childhood, just bills and log chats. However, the CO didnt even take a look at them)

No you don't necessarily need to go to the Headquarter lab to take the DNA test.

Choose one which is the most convenient for you.

Here how my case worked:

- Call them and ask for the local lab which near your zip code.

- Book an appointment. Pay the minimum deposit first

The early you paid off, the early the KIT would be sent to US Embassy.

P/s: My case costs my father $620 total included sending fee *round-trip* to US Consulate in Vietnam.

I took the interview yesterday and was required to take DNA Test to proof the relationship. I am an out-of-wedlock child of US Citizen.

My father has made an DNA collection appointment with a lab in US already (dnacenter.com)

I just wonder how long does it take that the US consulate contact me to collect sample?

And, how long would I receive visa after US Consulate got DNA result?

I am really sick and tired for waiting... such a long time!!!

I just interviewed today and was required to take DNA Test (The DNA Test Result by "Trung Tâm Truyền Máu Huyết Học Trung Ương" is invalid at US Consulate.)

I am an out-of-wedlock therefore there are not much relationship evidence.

I just wonder:

1. How long would US Consulate contact me (the beneficiary) after the DNA KIT sent to US Consulate?"

2. How long would I get visa-in-hand after the US Consulate got the result

Is there any one here has experienced in my situation? Please share your experience. It's greatly appreciated:)

I am on the last stage of the immigration processing - INTERVIEW.

I checked on Internet that IRS Tax 2012 should submit for those interviewed after April 15th. However, some people in March were still asked to submit a new tax.

My question is, DO I REALLY NEED TO PREPARE the IRS TAX INFO 2012 at the interview ??? My interview will be at March 22nd.

I have 1 question.

Did you guys call the NVC or DOS (Department of State) for the Interview Date ???

I am looking at march as well if i dont get a date tomorrow. my consulate closes for 4 days for chinese new year.

Could you please tell me why we must wait for march in case we wouldn't get the date tomorrow ?? I'm in Vietnam, too.

The holidays slow things down with CO's taking breaks to head home for he family etc. ...

Oh. I forgot this. As far as I know, US people usually take 2-3 weeks off

Their schedule depends on the workload and the season. It takes long time from Sept - Dec, they process student visa applicants first and then others later.

Oh, thanks for your info. Now is over Dec, so it might get faster, right?
