  1. I guess I would hang my hat on the "...live in the same state OR district." You are still in the same STATE so I would file and see what happens as long as the filig fee being lost does not place a hardship on you IF that happens. My thought is that is why they have the OR in there as you can change districts but remain in the same state or change states, but remain in the same district.

Did you happen to get which is the district office--not FIELD office--for Queens as I could not find one other than NYC (Unless field office and district office are the same but them why is the one at the Federal Plazza listed as District office and the one on Long Island listed as a Field Office)? Otherwise you will have to wait until December.

    Dave

I know it sucks, but I had to wait 3 months too after I moved. Patience is the virtue. If she said, you need to wait your 3 months I would wait. The reason you must have 3 months before filing is they must have legal jurisdiction over you. And they dont unless you spend a minimum of 3 months in theirs. Hang in there, 3 months will go by quickly !! If you are not sure you can call again....? Why would you wanna risk your application getting lost between offices and loose the money ?? Its not the lottery.

  2. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  Oath ceremony September 11 at 11.30am AT THE TD GARDEN

Anybody had experience with a big ceremony like this? Several thousands of people.

Pauine Wells will sing. A friend here just told me that.

Do they call your name during the ceremony and you need to come to retrieve your certificate on the podium or another room or will they mail your certificat ? What is the best time to arrive there? Do you need to sit by country?

Would be cool to have your experience.

  3. Thank you!

In fact we are moving but really staying in both places for 2 months until renovation in our old place are done.

I just checked the office locator and our new zip code match the NYC Federal Plaza office while our old address is in Long Island (2 hours drive from our house).

So if we change address in September 2012, file for citizenship at the end of September will we meet the 3 months requirments by the interview?

The 3 months residence requirements NEED TO BE MET BEFORE YOU FILE if not they will reject your application.

so, once the renovations are done you are moving back into your old place?..then you are not really moving then?

  4. Thank you both for your answers.

I think I will go on the safer side. Change address and fill the N400. So the requirments is to live in the past 3 months in the same state? I guess it's fine if we move from Queens (NY) to Brooklyn (NY)?

I would advice NOT TO LIE ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE. At the interview you will be asked where you live, how long and so on.

You lie and your bio from the fbi does not match, means you are lying under oath and will be denied citizenship and your money will be gone + other complications.

Plus did you say you move within the city of NY to another part of NY. As long as the move is within the same district where you live and move to, you can file today your N-400 and change your address within 10 days of your move BECAUSE ITS THE SAME JURISDICTION and maybe even the same immigration office. I would call customer service number and ask if both addresses fall within SAME jurisdiction for your citizenship application. I am not talking SERVICE CENTER, but actual field office. You can also just wait a week till you move. YES, 3 MONTHS OF RESIDENCE WITHIN SAME JURISDICTION FOR THE OATH CEREMONY.

  5. No this other older guy had 9:30pm printed on his letter. The TD Garden person you spoke to may have mistaken the event, there's a "Voter's Registration" event going on that day at TD garden from 11:30am --3:00pm. Just posted online, see link below:

    https://www.thedatabank.com/dpg/379/personal2.asp?formid=meet&c=7750096

The local government is trying to register more voters this year (election year) for Massachusetts, by setting up booths at oath ceremonies.

I was told "get there before noon" verbally, but didn't get a letter. Without details it's driving me nuts, haha. But sounds like you have a good chance at receiving a letter for Sept. 11th ceremony, I hope you get it today. Otherwise, the interview office doesn't have a posted phone number---do you have it?

  6. Was just looking around for the same thing. the September 11th ceremony is confirmed, I just interviewed last Thurs (Aug. 16th) and saw most people who passed also received a Oath Ceremony letter on the spot for September 11th. Even saw the time for one of them, 9:30am.

However, I have a question also--Is it possible that TD garden is doing it at 2 different times on Sept. 11th? anyone know? Think I'm scheduled for a different time, not 9:30.

I called TD Garden again and they now would confirm the September 11 at 11.30 to 3.30pm. Your oath ceremony letter says 9.30am at TD Garden?

I did not ask if they had two ceremonies that day. I interviewed and passed but since September 11 was tentative when I passed

I and many others where told that day to go home since it was tentative for September 11 at 11.30 and that we would get an oath letter home and if we didnt receive any letter by September 4 to call their office back.

  7. Scammers abound online looking for some USC to get them in the door. Some will stay about for a bit because they understand US immigration laws. Some will disappear right from the airport. The worse ones are those that "have a plan" that not only involves getting into the US but in getting "their share" of the USC's property. They will be abusive in the worse way. The last thing a pregnant woman needs is a man that feels pestered and who in person will be more apt to lash out physically than verbally. I can't prove the man is a scammer but I do know he isn't worth it. If he treats you this way verbally before you are together and married it will get worse, much worse as time goes on. Do you want your child to grow up with this man as an image of good ? You deserve much better, your child deserves better. This man will only suck the life out of you and dump you when he is done.

    VERY WELL SAID !!!!!!

  8. Wow, I really feel for you. You said you have a child on the way and already he says he doesn't need you.

He is very bold and he sounds he might be verbally abusive ?

    It is called an anchor-baby.

A girl I know got pregnant too and once he had his papers he was careless in the choice of words and admitted that he put her pregnant just to get his papers and then felt cornered by her reaction and shock....he then told her that she better watch out or he kidnap the child just to punish her for not being agreable. This sounds extreme maybe to you but devasting to this girl. He left her and she then was paranoid for years about the safety of her child.

Every city has a free immigration advice office...I would find out where yours is and have a consultation and know what you are stepping into before it is to late. A warned women is worth 3 women.

Having been denied for tourist visa is weird for sure. He might get into the country and then disapear on you. Does he know anybody else in the USA? Have you ever done a background search on him?

I definatley would not put his name as father on the birth certificat in the baginning. If later turns out he was genuine...you can always adjust that when you do get married. Ask your parents for their opinion and help too if you are close to them. IF he knows you dont have support...he will use that in his advantage.

    good luck with everthing
