  1. Your husband should have asked why it's under Admin Processing at time of interview. Did anything being missing or documents that they asked you to submit??

He did ask after the interview, but the Consular did not give any information. We have tried calling the Embassy numerous times, but they give us the same answer: the case is still under Administrative Processing, and once it is completed you will be contacted.

They did not say if any documents are missing or needed. We had a couple things to submit at the time of the interview, which my husband gave them. I have asked them again many times if they need anything further then they should tell me and I can send it immediately. But again, they don't say anything. It's really frustrating...

  2. Hey Guys,

it seems that it's a habit of the ppl at the Mumbai Consulate to put cases on Admin Processing. My husband had his interview on March 22, 2013 and STILL no news. I've tried contacting the Congressman, Senators --everything I could think of. I went to India earlier this month to visit my hubby, and I called the Embassy as well in hopes to schedule an appt with someone there. But no luck. They blatantly refused.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm really frustrated with this process now. My husband's case has been pending for 1 year and 7 months now!

Appreciate any info anyone can provide...

    Thanks :)

  4. It depends on how busy the embassy is , but you can call NVC and ask them if they have a date for the interview yet , you both will Receive an email when is the interview date is assigned . Can i ask you why are you no the NVC thread? You should be posting your question there not here .

Thanks for the info! I didn't know there was a separate NVC thread. I have always been posting my questions on this thread...

  5. Hi Everyone! (sorry about the re-post, but somehow I was unable to complete my post before it went through)

We just got an email yesterday saying that the NVC has completed the case, and now we have to wait for my husband to get the medical packet. Any idea how long it takes for them to receive the medical packet and interview date?

Also, to my knowledge there are not any more fees to be paid for the visa process? Is that correct?

ANY info anyone has regarding this would be great!

    Thanks everyone :)

  6. My husband sent his on the 9th and they just accepted it today so they might accept yours today or tomorrow tell him to check his email

Ok thanks. My husband just told me that he got an email saying that they received the request, but didn't say anything about them "accepting" it. Is that the same thing? Also, I just tried logging onto the NVC website to pay the IV fee, but still no luck. Any insight?

  7. Hi Everyone,

I paid the AOS fee on 10/10, and I told my hubby to send the email assigning me as his agent that same day (which was 10/11 according to India and the night of 10/10 for us). He has not yet received any confirmation or acceptance email from the NVC, and because of that I am unable to pay the IV fee. Should I have him resend the email? Or should we wait?

  12. Hello Everyone,

I called the NVC today and received the NVC Case # and Invoice Identification #. Now when I am trying to input them both online to make the payment, and it keeps telling me that the combination of what I have entered is not matching their system. I don't understand how that's possible as I just received this from the NVC this morning and I also verified both numbers over the phone with the representative.

Do I have to wait before I can make a payment?

  13. Hello All,

I could have sworn I have posted this question before on this forum before, but for some reason I am now unable to find it. So sorry, but I am re-posting this to verify the information that I have gotten. Regarding the Police Certificate, does that have to be done from the place of residence or place of birth of the beneficiary? My hubby has changed locations many times over the years due to his work, but now his family is residing in Jammu and Kashmir India for the past 3 years. I was under the impression that the police certification should be from the location of his permanent residence (which would be Jammu). But he was born in Srinagar Kashmir and lived there until the age of 18.

When I googled this I came across a couple of different answers, which is why I wanted to reach out to the VJ family here. This is what I have found:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police

    AND

    http://www.***removed***/immigration/police-certificates.html

If I were to go by the links above, then it seems that my husband would need a verification from each city he has lived in over the past 10 years (which does nto seem practical to me at all). Any thoughts?? I would really appreciate any input anyone has on this.

    Thanks!!
