  1. My fiancé also received an email a couple days ago that said ACTION REQUEST. It said please be informed that your visa is ready for issuance. Please drop of your passport...... Is this what your email said? It has been 15 months since his interview and last time they said to come get visa (in April) it was a glitch in system and they didn't actually have a visa for him, so we are a little apprehensive about this. We are hoping it is for real this time. We have never received an email like this before, so we are being calm, patient, and hopeful.

No, actually the email I received says that "your AP is almost done" and asked for passport. I have heard form a source that embassy dosnt keep the passports for more than two weeks when it asks for it. Unless it collects the passport on the day of interview. I hope you fiance gets his visa soon. And please keep me in your prayers.

    Good luck

  2. You should contact the embassy again and ask why you are being sent back. Thats not AP. Thats a denial. More than likely a NOIR or NOID it goes to NVC than back to USCIS where USCIS will reaffirm or back up the NOIR/NOID and deny you.

It usually takes a few months to make it back thats why your congressman said 60 to 90 days.

Many especially out of Islamabad get sent back after a lengthy AP. I have a friend had 22 months in AP and they were sent back also. Just stay on top of your case and don't let up.

They wont hide it if they are to deny the case. And I have contacted my congressman right after the interview while the case was still at embassy.

  3. The embassy approves or denies the case as far as issuance of the visa is concerned. Where is her passport? Was she given a 221 G form? What does it say?

It sounds like the case has been returned to USCIS in the USA. This is not good but we have to keep in mind this is an case concerning Afghanistan so this type of thing is to be expected.

Your politicians can do very little to help you in this situation but there is nothing wrong with asking them to do so. For example to say its going to be 60 to 90 days when they know nothing about the case is ridiculous.

The embassy have not collected her passport yet and she was given a yellow sheet after a very simple interview, I believe it is the 221g, it still says the case is undergoing AP.

  4. Hi to all folks who are going trough the though AP process.

My wife had her interview on early August 2013, its been almost tow months and she is still under AP. Today she visited US-Kabul embassy to find out why her visa case was not updated since September 14, she was told that the embassy has completed the inquiry and has sent her case to US - no specific location given - for further process. My question is that which office is approving immigrant visas, the embassy, NVC or state department? And why would they send her case back to US? I have filed the petition for her on March 2012, I am so frustrated and tired of the never lasting process.

PS: I have contacted my Senator and Congressman's offices, they said its gonna take from 60 to 90 days for AP to be completed, when I see some people have been waiting for years, it scares me.

    Help me understand the process.

  5. Dear All,

I am a green card holder and i have filed I-130 on March 16-1012, its been more that five months still waiting for approval. My friends who have the same status as me, got their approvals in five months. I am wondring if some one can tell me when can I expect the approval form Vermont Center. I have checked the processing table but I believe it shows the dates of when applicants can expect an interview and/or Visa approval. (I hope I am write) and I am sure I am, because if it was to show the I-130 date then my friends would not get their approvals. The USCIS processing table shows Jan 23rd 2011, which means cases from this date is under process but my friend filed the I-130 for his wife on August 2011 and got the approval on Jan 2012. Can someone help me understad?
