  1. Waiting for the London embassy to receive our application. Does anyone have any experience with how long it takes between the embassy receiving the application to being able to send off all the biometric info etc?

    Cheers.

  2. did you call vermont or customer service?

I just called regular old customer service! I guess that does really go to show how little they might be able to disclose over the phone... I would say have some faith in your VJ timeline, because mine was VERY accurate! Good Luck! :star:

Didn't work for me. They said they are working on July 2nd and i should call back in 30 days.

That's exactly what they told me! But evidently they are actually processing August requests, because I am just a regular old August 6th filer. They're making some progress! :star:

  3. Hello folks,

My British fiance and I just received our NOA2 yesterday! HOORAY! Beforehand, he and I were being proactive and researching what came in Packet 3. He has filled out all required documents, and gathered up supporting documents.

Problem is, since we were only approved yesterday, NVC will not have received our approval, let alone the London Embassy.

My Question: Can he still go ahead and make an appointment for his official medical? How long will the medical be valid?

We're just desperately trying to get ahead... I'm sure you all understand :)

  4. Everybody thinks the same rules apply, but if you dig deeper into the sources it's a different thing. Some consulates may have a local vibe of what it takes to convince those officers, so I am only speaking of London's usual attitude. Acceptance of the I134 is a subjective decision by the interviewing officer. There is nothing in the Foreign Affairs Manual stating a tax return is required or only the fiancé can provide the affidavit. BUT a particular consulate or officer may feel like those are the only way he will be convinced the applicant will not become a public charge. The guides on VJ are covering the whole world so tend to give the greatest common denominator of the most difficult consulate. That's why finding regional forums to learn the tips and tricks for after NOA2 is often very helpful.

Thank you so much for your links and advice! I'm reading from the London Embassy link you provided: "Affidavit of Support

Persons in the U.S. who wish to furnish sponsorship of a fiancee or Kii visa applicant in the form of an affidavit of support should use form I-134 which is available from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Sponsors may also elect to furnish a statement in the form of an affidavit sworn to before a notary public or other official competent to administer an oath, setting forth his or her willingness and financial ability to contribute to the applicant's support and reasons, in detail, for sponsoring the applicant."

So on top of the I-134, does my mother need to also have a notarized statement? This is the first time I have ever read any such a thing.

  5. I called USCIS this morning to ask them about their progress, and was told by a Tier 2 that they were processing JULY 2nd, which is NOT when I applied!

I am an August 6th filer through VSC, and while on the phone, I received a text notification & email! Once I hung up with the USCIS officer, I logged on to check my case status, and BOOM! Approved on February 19, 2013!!! 197 days!!!

So strange! Overjoyed, nonetheless! I hope everyone else is one step closer to receiving their NOA2s!

I wonder why it happened that way? The officer was just telling me to wait another month, and that they were processing a totally different date from mine, but then VIOLA! I got my approval! Seems like they might be giving people the wrong information...

  7. You need to fill out an I-134 AND your co-sponsor will complete an I-134. Each of you will have to send the supporting documents required.

Thank you so much for your help! So even if I haven't made enough in the past year, I still provide the supporting documents, as does my mother, and they will know that she is my co-sponsor? And we should be approved that way? :)

  8. Hello everyone,

I understand this website is an overwhelming wealth of information, but I read so many opposing opinions, it’s hard to pinpoint facts. I appreciate your help in this matter!

What we are filing for: K1 Visa I-129F

    Me: US Citizen

    Fiance: British Citizen

I will have a co-sponsor on behalf of my fiancé, and that co-sponsor is my own mother. She has 100% agreed to everything, but I’m reading in various places about forms I-134 & I-864.

Which one(s) do we need once we receive our NOA2? Do I fill something out? Does she do all of the filling out? This is where I have become sorely confused. I did not make enough this past tax year.

Any links to STRAIGHT information, or a page I could bookmark on the matter would be wonderful!

    Thank you so much!

  9. Hello all,

My fiance and I received our NOA1 on Aug. 6, 2012, and in the meantime have read a lot about putting together the necessary documents we might need for the next step, in the meantime.

Where can I find those? The VJ K1 Visa Timeline says: "Start gathering documents needed by beneficiary (MY FIANCE) after submitting I-129F" And I've done just that, but I'm still not finding what we need to gather.

I am the U.S. citizen, he is a British citizen and the Embassy assigned is London, UK.

Could anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you so much for your assistance! :)
