  1. Hi! I am new here in VisaJourney. I will be filing for the I-601 and I-212 for my husband who was deported April 2010. Our I-130 was approved April 2008, then by August 2008 we received a letter from USCIS that the adjustment of status had been denied since my husband entered the US with a crewman's visa. I called and spoke with my lawyer and he basically told me that he can't do anything about it, that we just need to wait until the government will have an amnesty. We sought for a second opinion, and this new lawyer told us to apply for the hardship waiver. To cut the story short, due to financial difficulties, we weren't able to push through with the waiver application; then eventually my husband got deported 2010.

I went to our lawyer's office 2 weeks ago today, August 13, 2012 and sign the I-824 form and gave the $405 payment. Till now, I haven't receive any letter from USCIS that they received my I-824. I've been sending emails to my lawyer and her assistant but without any respond. When do you think should I receive it, considering my lawyer's office mailed it promptly.

Please help. This whole process is making me become a crazy person. Any information surely helps. Thanks!
