  1. My husband just got interviewed for a CR1 around a week ago and we got AP , I hope he gets his visa soon. I'm just trying to collect information about when to apply for a social security number for him after he arrive to the US? Can it be on the very next day? do we have to apply for one for him at the SS office or they will send it to him with the green card? is there anything we need to do once he arrives?

  2. No one is stopping you from returning home. I would email the embassy to see what the scoop is on Monday.

I wanna go back with my hubby that's why I've stayed here 8 month and they said that we were approved so it's my right to get my visa like they said

  3. Im sorry but cairo lies to many. Another ali and ahmed lived in egypt the whole time. They told them 1~2 weeks and they got it 7 months later. But also I remember some said their case was in ap but it was a quick ap and he got his visa in 12 days. So do not worry yet. Keep hope alive. Think positive. And you can come home at any time. He kust has to wait for the visa.

my question is why on earth they said that we were approved and didn't mention AP ? even the paper doesn't say anything about the AP and all the documents was complete they didn't request any, I'm very frustrated about them

  4. That is strange they would have told him he was under AP.We was approved but needed to provide another AOS so we get AP it's normal the co said.We called DOS and they said Ayman only needs to send the AOS paper. Maybe you should call the Cairo embassy and find out what is going on.Call DOS also.Did they keep his passport? I know the feeling and Ayman and I been going through this more than a year. It's not easy but we are almost there.Call and find out what's going on ok. GOD BLESS

I'm possitive they didn't say anything about AP even the paper they gave him doesn't say say AP say's" congratulation you're approved and you'll get your visa in two weeks", Sure I'm gonna call and ###### at them cuz this is very stupid what they did, even his case status still says "Ready" till yesterday which means wasn't under AP so ####### happened with them?

  5. I'm really really frustrated right now, I don't know why all this is happening to me, my hubby had his interview last Wednesday and he got approved quickly and the interviewer didn't pay him any attention barely ask him any question too all of it was very basic questions and he told him that we'll the visa in two weeks and I used to check our status on the DOS tracker and it always said ready and we got an update on the 28th (the day after the interview) but still saying ready and today morning I checked it and find it saying that we are under AP ####### the interviewer didn't say that, he just said we are approved and gave my husband a paper saying that we'll get the visa in two weeks, I'm really frustrated and don't know what to do right now, why aren't they letting me go back home from Egypt :( :( :(

  6. We have looked at this too in the APRIL INTERVIEWS thread and it is not by case completion date. At least based on the few cases we saw. They went by PD for the I-130 petition if there are a bunch of same country applicants waiting at the same time. I had case complete 01/28. Dwheels had CC 02/04 and Olumides_wife had CC 01/31 but these two ladies got dates before me because their I130 petiton was before mine. So we think that is the order they follow. Of course after they do initial batch schedules any other available date that trickles in is given to the next person at NVC regardless of CC or PD date ( I think).

So go back and compare the people you mentioned with their PD instead and update us.

I see your talk is the closest to be right maybe "Michaelamyan" had the earliest completion date but also had the earliest appointment letter received so he got the April 24th then some more appointments popped up like yesterday so they gave it to the other two members according to their PD not the CC, I see this maybe the only legible explanation, but it's really annoying for someone like "Michaelamyan" to have the earliest CC and get his interview by the end of April just because they scheduled him first and it seems like there is no way he can change that with an embassy like the one in Cairo, the most frustrating thing in this process is waiting especially when you know it was unfair

  7. I kept track of every egypt spouse case complete and they always scheduled in order of case complete. I am not sure about fiance interviews. Bit egypt gives out fiance visas on a different date then spouses.. I am certain that I never seen them go out of order

I can give a simple example I just saw today and it's like how I tell you this member "Michaelamyan'" got his completion date on Feb 1st and got an interview date one April 24th and this member "RFQ's" got his completion date on Feb 24th and got an interview date on April 3rs and this member "bluetina" got her completion date on Feb 19th and got an interview on April 4th, in addition to the one my husband saw at his medical whom my husband sure was a CR1 and got his completion date after and interview way before us, I'm not saying I'm sad those people got their dates that but I'm saying who can we speak with to get our rights of earlier dates if the NVC say thing they don't do

  8. Hello VJ members, I want to discuss something which kinda annoying and unfair about the NVC scheduling the interviews.... the NVC always tells us that they schedule the interview date as early as the order it got it's completion date so how come people get completion dates after you and get interview dates way before you, my husband at his medical knew someone who got his completion date 10 days after us and has his date 8 days before us, sorry but this is very frustrating, I'm stuck here in Egypt and they give us later dates than the people who completed their cases after us, are the NVC cheating us? who should we complain to? I saw it happen with many people on VJ too, can someone explain this to me please?

  9. I heard that sometimes the CO at Cairo embassy appears very suspicious during the IV interview would it be good for someone to offer showing him some of the evidences which prove the relationship or just wait for him to ask about it cuz I knew sometimes the CO doesn't even ask about the evidences so would it be better for the applicant to offer showing the evidences if the CO appears suspicious\ didn't ask about it at all? or just show it if only asked about it? would this harm at all?

  10. If there's one so you should bring it just to avoid more fees for vaccinations but you don't have to bring one cuz in Egypt they don't have this stuff so the hospitals and doctors who are making the medical exams know that so there will be no problem, when is your husband medical exam? he's the one before my husband Inshallah lol

someone answer me please, I was told that my case left the NVC yesterday the 6th of Feb and I don't see any case left to Egypt on that date, can someone tell me please how can I track it now?

  12. Hmm I see how what I said before sounded mean. I actually didn't mean to direct it at you, but I am sorry for insulting you. I intended to say that there are people who plan out their entire weddings in the US before even sending in the fiance petition. They are the ones who never learn. But that sentence didn't make it into my post :bonk: . Anyway pharmacy school test can be taken several times a year. I have a friend in pharmacy school now so I know.

At least Egypt gets their AP's out of the way faster comparing to other Embassies. In Pakistan and Yemen people can wait years just on AP. I know they are doing what they feel they need to for national security purposes but I really wish they were more efficient and didn't keep us hanging in limbo forever.

it's okay for me now, I'm sorry if I overreacted too I just felt offended, I do understand how this AP is very annoying to MENA people but I really hope it will be faster to everyone Inshallah, sending prayers to every couple here, thanks for your answer though

  13. That's pretty much the case. On the VJ timeline option it can give you samples of others going through the CR-/IR-1 application process at the US Embassy in Cairo. You'll see people are getting their visas in hand anywhere from 1-2 weeks up to an average of 5-6 months. I'm really surprised at how efficient they've become with the 1-2 weeks AP/AR turn around. It used to be that 1-2 weeks was unheard of but if you look at the timeline function you'll see that many are getting their visas in that time. In the past the average has been 5-6 months of AP/AR for this Embassy with some cases waiting years. Hopefully this will not be your case.

I hope so too and will do a research on the timeline thing too, thank you so much

  15. Don't you think the visa process is stressful enough without those huge chips on your shoulder (and you've got more than one) making it worse than it needs to be?

    One more time:

Every intending immigrant is put through AP. All of them.

It doesn't matter where they're from or their religion. How long AP will take depends on a few things. Intending immigrants from first world countries with computerized records tend to go through it without notice.

Intending immigrants from developing countries, with stacks of records in dusty storage rooms (unless they've been burnt in a protest or during a revolution) take longer to investigate, so the AP process takes longer. Let's say the intending immigrant is from Egypt, for example, and his name is Mohamed. Well, because of his name alone, he's already in a pot with a slew of other Mohameds and the chances of a name matching his increases.

    Ahmed? Same thing.

George? Not so much, just because, in the numbers game, there are fewer of them.

How long will AP take? It takes as long as the civil servant from the immigrant's country, employed by the US embassy, takes to investigate the name match, and no less.

The quickest I've ever seen anyone make it through Cairo, from interview to visa in hand was three weeks.

You may want to have your husband reschedule that test.

Don't you think that every one can say what he wants to say in both ways harsh and nice, why do you have to choose the harsh way with people that you don't know and maybe that's the last time you're talking to them, that is strange and again people here started me to say "seems some people never learn" and the other one saying " nobody said it" like she didn't know what was my answer directed for and here you're saying I'm something about me being sensitive, work your mind and you'll find it wasn't nice from them to say that in the first place, again please let's concentrate on the topic cuz the last thing I need is someone trying to make it personal or leading us out of the spot, thank you for you answer though, and my husband already has another chance to take the test but it's wrong at all to try to figure out if you can avoid it.
