i can help you, i am fixing to file AOS soon as soon as we get out marriage certificate
Thanks Janet!
As Harpa said, there is no e-filing of anything. You mail all your forms and supporting documents to the Chicago lockbox, Follow this guide > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
Thanks
Post everything to the Chicago lockbox address. make sure you send it recorded delivery so you can check it got there, then settle down for some waiting. Read the guides thoroughly.
Yeah....delivery confirmation....did the same with the I-129F

Thanks!
I don't want to file the I-765 before marring. I just need to understand what is mailed and what is e-filled.
So I guess mailing everything together is the correct procedure!
Steps 16 through 23 on the VJ K-1 flowchart describe each step that happens after POE: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow
You will file the I-765 together by mail with the I-485 and I-131 to make up your AOS package, after you are married.
There is no point filing the I-765 before you are married and filing your AOS package, as it takes 60 to 90 days to process. If you do this, the validity on the employment authorization will match the validity of your fiance's I-94 and will expire 90 days after the date of POE.

Hi!
You can always find very useful information on the embassy's website.
Visit this link and read the info, perhaps you can find your answers there:

OMG...sorry to hear this!

Thanks everyone and this site.
We were approved
But how do we check the site for the visa status
CONGRATS!!!! So glad it all went well!!
Go to this link https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==
select Immigrant Visa and put in your case number. It may say AP for the first few days then it will change to ready, then issued.
Once it says issued go to http://www.domex.do/ and with your tracking number you can go on there to see when its ready!!!
CONGRATS AGAIN!!!

So, my K1 visa interview was approved in Santo Domingo a little over three weeks ago....
I emailed the embassy for status on my visa case and this was their response...
"Please be advised that the case has just been approved for issuance and is currently pending the printing of the visa. Feel free to contact us in the next 4 weeks if you do not receive the passport"
I really hope they mean that and I don't have to wait an additional four weeks until visa is issued!
I'd never imagine i'd have to wait this long...
I have no idea what is going on with the visa unit. It seems like they are working on slow motion....My fiance's file was complete the same week you had your interview and we are still pending the review of the CO....I wonder what can be done if anything to speed up the process...I forget who is it that members mention to contact...State Senator?
This has become so long and tedious! I will be so relieved when it is all over and one with....
What does your status on CEAC say?
-
Try emailing the embassy. Sometimes that site is not updated accurately.
If you email or call the embassy you may get a quicker response.
-
Oh WOW! That's excellent!
-
Its normal manita...we had the interview on the same day and have still been waiting. Last time our record was accessed was on March 6th...so maybe this means they are working on interviews from that day.
Only difference we sent in his passport via DOMEX.
ANJOS.. (or anyone else that knows the answer).. so the status can/does change mid day? It is not just updated first thing in the mornings? Thanks. (want to save myself some sanity of checking it every other hour if it only updates in the am)
Can change anytime during the day. One morning I checked and the last time accessed was 2/5 (the day after our interview) then I checked again a few hours later and it changed to 3/4. So it can change any time of the day.

Have you checked the status on CEAC site?
https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx
Enter your case number...should start with SDO

No problem.. Submit latest pay stub and 2013 ITR and w2. Do not mention about the job lost unless being asked! Do not volunteer information.
Get a co-sponsor in hand just to be on the safe side
Yeap I agree!

Since the tool to check your case status is offline this weekend for site maintenance, it's' possible that submitting the DS-160 form is affected as well.
I wondered! I had an error message pop up when I tried to check the status of our case.
Makes sense now.

August 2013 Petitioner! And we had our interview a week ago! Be calm, have lots and lots of patience! Welcome on board!
-
Yes. I would not rely so much on the site. There was one member of the DR Crew that had the same issue but it said Denied for hers and it turned out everything was ok....hang tight. Ours says AP as well and this is because the medical is pending...

I hope this help to somebody else.
I went to pay to banco popular today.
I thought that with my national id was enough.
but I took with me a copy of my passport.
When I was in the bank rhe man told me that I needed my passport.
So I went back home , look in for my passport and came back to the bank.
Advise:
When you go to pay to banco popular take with you your passport.
I didnt red that before and I didnt know for that I when only with a passport's copy.
I live near the bank that is located at calle del sol in santiago , it wasnt a big problem go home and come back
Yeap same thing happened to my fiance! Passport is needed when going to pay banco popular...

Be grateful you got approved!!! In DR it is usually an automatic denial if the petitioner is not present at the time of the interview!
Its difficult I know! But have patience. AP will take a few weeks, you can also call and find out what is going on or email the embassy. I got pretty good results emailing weekly.
Good luck!
