  1. just called and the customer agent told me that they are scheduling right now for Feb interviews and she doesn't think that my case will be scheduled for Feb interviews cuz my case was completed on the 9th, I'm so sad about that I really hope we'll have a Feb interview but now I think there's no chance for me cuz Cairo embassy is a lot busy right now more likely with DV lottery :( :( :(

  3. Here's my problem, I sent the AOS last month and after it by like 4 days I sent the DS-230 and the AOS got reviewed after like 10 business days then we got a checklist for the AOS after a week from the day it was already accepted asking for a proof for the petitioner domicile we were mad about it and we talked to a supervisor cuz we are sure we included everything then she requested the case file and after like 5 days we were told that this checklist was wrong however it contained specific information, now the DS-230 is 20 business days there and still not reviewed yet and I got three checklists asking me to send it when it's already there and I have the delivery proof signed by g-peters checklist was at Dec 27th and two as Jan 4th and 7th, now I called the supervisor and she told me that she see a mail was received about the case on Jan 3rd but she can't tell what it is so she offered to request the case file again to see what's inside and will take 10 to 15 business days or to wait until they review it themselves, my question what should I choose wait or let her get the file which will delay us more? do you think that the first time they requested the file for the AOS issue they got the DS-230 inside the case file then no one reviewed it? I'm really confused and nervous.

  4. My DS-230 was delivered on dec 13, and it was accepted on dec 28! What I sent on dec was a RFE of the AOS!! I called on Monday dec 31 and the operator told me its not arrived!!! I'm so worried to think that it is lost and I would have to send it again!!

I understand what you're talking about but you know my DS-230 was delivered on 17th Dec and they still say that they didn't get it yet, however I got the DHL proof of delivery signed by G.Petters the same guy who signed my AOS the supervisor told me that I don't have to worry about it cuz it usually takes 20 business days to be reviewed, that for any document, so that's why I think they didn't reach the Dec 17th yet to review its documents, I got stupid RFE on my AOS for the domicile papers which we already sent and after they told me it was accepted, I got a checklist for it, so my AOS was sent back to be reviewed again, So much stupidity and careless people there

  5. Hello EVERYONE!! I'm new in VJ. But I have a question!! My case is at the Nvc right now!! And on December 14 we got a check list for our AOS because I forgot to sing the form! On dec 17 I sent the RFE to the Nvc! On Monday dec 31 I got a check list from the NVC saying that they got my IV package and it was accepted but they are still waiting to get the check list they I already sent on dec 17!! Is it a fake check list because de hasn't review what I sent on dec 17?? Or it means what I sent on dec 17 is lost??

I'm the same here too I sent my DS-230 and was delivered on Dec 17th and never got any news about it besides so AOS shiiiit too, but I think they might didn't come to the Dec 17th received documents yet since me and you are at the same situation, when was you Ds-230 delivered? we should keep up together cuz I'm really nevous about all f that too

  6. my DS-230 was delivered on Dec 17th and the NVC still doesn't have on the system, even the AOS they sent me a RFE for the petitioner's domicile which I already sent documents for it and the supervisor said it should be okay with that documents, anyway she sent it back to be re-reviewed and now I have to wait for 20 business days for it to get reviewed again and to wait for the DS-230 to be reviewed too, SO SAD FOR THAT

  7. well me and my wife made that last July and I can tell you exactly what you'll need

1- if you're divorced you'll need your divorce decree with you if you haven't been married before so all what you'll have to do is to make appointment at the embassy before you come for the affidavit of NO CONCERN for $50 (cuz sometimes you can't find very recent one if you try to make it just before you're going to make the paperwork) so just try to make the appointment before you come and make it to be the next day you're here so you can finish the whole process fast the link is https://evisaforms.state.gov/acs/default.asp?postcode=CRO&appcode=1 you'll make the appointment by your name and printout the appointment before you close the page cuz they will ask for it before they let you inside the embassy you must have your passport with you for sure and your fiancee will be with you at the embassy you'll enter first then they will send you back to the gate to get him inside with you. After you have this paper you'll go directly to the Ministry of foreign affairs office at Isis building ( the nearest one to the embassy, at the same street) to get their on it for 11 L.E then you're done with it

2- You and him will go to any governmental hospital which does pre marriage medical test to have one certificate for you and one for him that you are medically okay for marriage, he can find the nearest one to his place before you come so he can be prepared, it's very fast and we paid like 70 L.E for our certificates, and they didn't even test us they just took two photos from both of us and had it done very fast

3- he should buy " Tabe3 Zawag" from any post office which is 50 L.E then take you to the Mogama3 Tahrir to get you residency stamp on your passport for free

4- he bring two witnesses with you guys when you go to the ministry of Justice for the marriage papers both of them should have his ID card and your husband too and you have your stamped passport and you should have 5 personal photos for each of you guys and then every thing is done you'll pay like 50 L.E at the ministry of Justice

so what you'll need guys at the ministry of justice is is

1- affidavit of no concern from the embassy

2- final divorce decree if any

3- 7 personal photos for each of you (2 for the medical and 5 for the marriage contract)

4- tabe3 Zawag from any post office

5- Your stamped passport and his ID card

6- two photo copies of his ID card and two photo copies of your passport data page and two photo copies of the stamp page in your passport too

7- 2 male witnesses with their ID card (he should bring them with him)

you can do all of that in like two days if you work in a timely manner and you'll get the contract at the same day then he can go to the main notary in Ramsis St and get the contract Translated there it will take like 7 days for them then he goes to the ministry of foreign affair to get a stamp on it then it's ready for use in the US (you don't take the translation to the embassy back cuz they don't notarize it anymore, just use it like how I described and it will be okay) hope that will help you. Here's the link from the embassy too http://egypt.usembassy.gov/acs12.html

  8. have you studied what a false checklist letter looks like, and why it's deemed false? It's covered in the FAQs section back in post #1, fwiw.

Thanks for you answers and I already did read it but please don't answer my question with a question just say the answer if you have one. So according to my situation do you think getting this RFE about the domicile in the US for the petitioner after we were told already accepted a week ago with the same email of a checklist for DS-230 which is already sent????? I called them and told me that the AOS is fine on the system and no one know about the chicklist which is dated as yesterday, did anyone got this situation before?

  9. After accepting our AOS from at the NVC we got a checklist about the petitioner proof of domicile and every time we're calling them, they're telling us the AOS is fine and accepted but the checklist was dated as yesterday. So we requested the supervisor and we talked to her and she told us that she is going to request our case file to check what's going on with it and to call back next Wednesday. I already sent recent bank statements from Bank of America and SRP and my voter registration card and I told the supervisor that and she said those documents are enough and that she'll check on the case and to call next week to see what's going on. Does anyone know what I should expect? As we got in the same email a checklist for the DS-230 which we already sent asking to send it.......i'm a little confused and need help.

  10. I'm an American citizen who just married an Egyptian man in Egypt. I'm going to file the I-130 petition to get my husband into the US. We want to know is it better to use my Egyptian address instead of my US one? Since, i'm not going to leave Egypt without my husband hopefully. We also want to ask about the evidence we should include in the package to prove I have an American address if I use the Egyptian one for filing. Also, what evidences are good to support the bona fides of marriage?

  11. I have made the petition for my husband, I am a USC living in Europe and plan to return home (with him hopefully) at the end of the year. The waiting period for approval of the I-130 is approx. 5 months. What will happen after the I-130 is approved? What is the next step? I have understood from a tax adviser, that my husband must have all his assets in cash prior to moving to the States to ensure he is not also taxed by the IRS on assets earned abroad prior to his retirement (he has never lived in the States). Will he have to liquidate his assets (selling a house, etc.) prior to any further steps in the process? Thanks very much.

well done filling the i-130, I'm going to file it for my husband too but I live in Africa... can you tell me which address did you use in part B question 2 ? like the US one or the Europe one.

  12. Hello guys, does anyone knows about trusted link which talk about step by step i-130 filling like to explain and talk about all the questions? and what about question 2 in part B? should I put my abroad address? if I'm living in Egypt since I married waiting to get back to the USA when I can get him with me. will that affect me having an address inside the USA where I can live in ? as I called the USCIS and they told me to put my US address and there is some respected members here talking about putting my Egypt address to make my application go faster.. I'm really confused and need help. please explain clearly.

  13. It's faster because until last year, USCs living abroad could file directly with the embassy (like we did- whole think took 6 weeks instead of the usual 9-12 months); this isn't possible anymore in most countries, but the USCIS will "auto expedite" the case if the petitioner lives abroad. This is not an official policy, but something we have found in almost all cases here on VJ.

Emails with real estate agents and companies/ recruiters. Maybe visit the US- if you can- and sign a lease, renew your DL and voter registration etc. If you have kids, enroll them in a school near where you plan to live.

do you say like I put the address of my spouse which is abroad ( where I live too ) in the B2 question of the i-130 which is " the petitioner address" ? is there where they gonna send me the mails if they needed to?

  14. do you have any idea about things which can support our bona fides of marriage too since we are in Egypt now like our lease of the apartment in Egypt, and if a shared bank account in Egypt will support this too then we will create one. take in mind we are married now for a month and I'm going to have a stamp of residence in my passport next week, should we take a photo copy of this too?

  15. It will likely be faster if you file the petition indicating YOU are now living in Egypt. Yes, it will "work" but it may be several months before he has an immigrant spouse visa. If you file using your US address, think more in terms of a year. If you'll be staying in Egypt with him, file with your Egypt address and stay. Your time together living as husband and wife will be the strongest evidence you can have of a bona fide relationship and that's your big hurdle. Be prepared for a period of administrative processing AFTER the visa interview. This could be several weeks to several months.

Enjoy your time in Egypt, because he's not coming to the USA right away.

Thank you for your reply, it was really helpful. but do you have any idea about things which can support our bona fides of marriage too since we are in Egypt now like our lease of the apartment in Egypt, and if a shared bank account in Egypt will support this too then we will create one. take in mind we are married now for a month and I'm going to have a stamp of residence in my passport next week, should we take a photo copy of this too?

  16. I'm in Egypt now and I married a man here and I want to bring my husband to the US and the embassy here doesn't accept the I-130 form anymore. It must be submitted from the US. I'm going to file it and let my mother send it through the mail with all the evidence they need. I'm not planning to go back to the US without my husband. Will that work? I want to know if they are going to ask me for an interview or something else inside the US after I submit the I-130 from the US. How can they know that my signature is real?
