  1. Hi everyone,

Just an update on my journey. Received the passport today (apr 20), 5 days after our interview. We now have the tangible "golden ticket" in our hands to go and be one happy family

In relation to what Steve said about the bill, as what Joe also said, it's only a BILL and it would take time before it becomes a LAW. But it would definitely end the waiting time of all green card holders and their immediate family since one provision of this bill would be:

******** Immediate Relative now include a child or spouse of an alien admitted for lawful permanent residence

In short, the F2A category would be included in the IR category, thus there will be no waiting time for the visa number to be available, provided your case is approved.

BUT...remember that this is just a BILL, not a LAW. It will first be debated and modified in Senate for about two months. Then it will be sent to House. This bill will then again be debated in House and modified further - which may takes some more time.

STILL, hope will always be there, just keep on holding on... especially for all those who are separated from their loved ones.

Good vibes and Godbless to each and everyone

Let us know when you get the visa...how did it it take for you to get the IL once your PD got current? please share your experience.

    Thanks,

    Arka

    Hi arka,

Thanks! I was current April VB, called March 7 and was told over the phone of my interview date/time (apr15/6:15am), i got the email afternoon of same day :)Goodluck on your own journey :) Will post here when i receive my visa, hopefuly soon so we can go before the month ends :luv:

    Congratulations!!!

    Thanks Athena :)

  3. oh yes!!! but do we really need to call the nvc?

arent we receiving mail from post office?

i called since i can't be still by just waiting for an email

we signed -up for email communication with NVC, i think you can do that by sending them an email, i am not so sure though :bonk: all the hard copy was sent to my hubby's physical address..but i did not use any of those, we were always communicating by email.

  4. oh how lucky.. be more blessed... how did u receive d I/L? through email? did u also receive a mail from ur post office?

i called NVC the morning of march 7 and they told me Interview schedule over the phone, received the IL by email later that afternoon :) finished medical yesterday but since i have a 6-year old with me, need to be back for additional vaccines for her, all-around post receiving IL, everything goes smoothly, just waiting for the big day..

    PD is Nov 22, 2010 :)

  5. Per NVC agent, PD is a guideline only, not necessarily one will get I/L.

It all depends on US Consulates abroad. If you would call 10 times, you will get 10 different answers from NVC.

I understand that, that makes me hopeful as well that i just have to wait since it differs from one consulate to the other..

I am from Philippines and so far no one posted yet that they got IL, or is there?

Oh well, the waiting still continues and must muster all the patience i have to be calm

    GOOD VIBES all around

  7. Hi Everyone.

I just become a US citizen 2 days ago.

what do i update status of the petition from F2 to IR

    thanks

    Hi there,

Congratulations on becoming a US citizen, the recent VB was depressing, that's the reason why

we are looking into upgrading from F2 to IR, can you share your timeline on your application

for naturalization? My hubby is eligible to file on 10/10/12 and i was wondering how long (roughly)

    to finish the processing.

Your help and information would be greatly appreciated..thanks!
