  1. Hello Everyone,

My wife has an interview scheduled for an IR-1 visa at the US Embassy in Tokyo. Some of the information the Tokyo Embassy homepage has suggested she should bring a special self-addressed prepaid envelope available at post offices throughout Japan (this envelope is called a LetterPack 500).

Does anyone know if this old information, or whether or not it is still a required thing?

I think we'll get one and bring it just in case, but I was curious to know if was actually necessary.

    Thanks in advance!

The information is old and you now don't have to bring it...

    The homepage says

If you paid the visa application fee through the new system after March 23, 2012, there is no additional charge for courier return of your passport; all costs are included in your MRV application fee.

I didn't bring it and it was all good.

    Good Luck!!

  2. Hello, everyone!!

I have just checked "My Case Status" a couple minutes ago and it says...

    Decision

On October 17, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283

Does this mean that am I approved without an interview?

I haven't recieved any interview notices yet...
