New green card was received in the mail today. Feels good knowing we don't have to do anything until 2026!

USCIS case status now says my wife's card is being produced (as of April 27). Do they normally update it once it's mailed?

I just noticed on my wife's approval letter the USCIS office address on the letter is of the Newark field office. So the case was transferred from VSC to Newark.

My wife's case has been approved! We got a letter in the mail today with a decision date of Apr. 21, 2016. The case status online and on the phone system hasn't been updated as some others have noted with their approvals. But I believe this letter makes it official!

Got a letter dated 4/18/16 with the approval. I haven't received the actual card yet. Also, my NOA date is 7/7/15 and not 7/4/15 like the table says.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give some info here for vermont center july filers.
I received my NOA on July 27 2015, biometric on august 27 2015, and today April 20, I was very surprised (!!) to receive my approval for my ROC. (date of decision: 15 of April)
It took less than 9 months?! when i know that some June filers and may filers are still waiting..? I was shocked.
Anyway, just wanted to give some hopes here.

Congrats! Looks like they are not approving cases in order, but it's still great news! Did they update your case status on uscis.gov?

Now December 31, 2015 and Vermont has updated to show processing to March, 30th 2015. Oh boy a WHOLE 7 days-
!I don't understand why they report as of two months ago. Anybody know why? I see on this forum April VCS filers are getting approved and even a few from May.

The way DL renewals are handled for people in ROC seems to vary from state to state and even by DMV within the same states.
When my wife renewed her DL, which was going to expire in January, the DMV issued her a new license valid only until July 10, which is the receipt date on her extension letter. I tried explaining to three different people at the DMV that her green card was extended for 1 year from the expiration date (Oct 6), but they all told me they have to go by the extension letter's date because that is the most recent document from USCIS.
With the way the VSC is moving, it's possible she won't have her new green card before her current DL expires. If that happens I'm not sure what we'll do.

No change for us yet. USCIS has processing times though (as of October 31, 2015,j ust updated the other day with this date) as March 2, 2015. It could still be awhile for us
.I see on here that two Vermont filers from April have gotten approved already. Don't know if they are special cases, but perhaps VSC doesn't report updates as often? From looking through the other monthly threads, the approvals for most Vermont filers seem to take between 6 and 9 months. Hopefully it won't take longer than that for us.

the DMV office isn't wrong. The letter extends the LPR status from the receipt date on the letter, not from the expiration of the green card, as far as I understand it.
That's interesting. Others here on VJ have said the opposite. I guess at the very least it is from the extension letter's receipt date.

I understand that when ROC documents submitted, a one year extension letter regarding the 2 year Green Card is issued by USCIS.
My question is: How many here have successfully gotten an extension of an expiring DL based on this one year extension?
My guess is that DMV people will likely go into lock-down mode when they look at the letter, because they have no idea what it is all about.
I know it varies by state, and will even vary between DMV offices within the same state . . . but still, what have your experiences been?
We live in NJ and got my wife's DL renewed last week with the extension letter. Surprisingly, everyone at the DMV office we went to was familiar with the extension letter and it didn't confuse anyone.
There was one thing that confused us though...
My wife's Green Card expired in Oct. 2015. So the extension letter makes the card good until Oct. 2016. My wife's DL was going to expire in Jan. 2016. When we got the new DL, they only made it good until July 10, 2016. We thought the new DL should be good at least until Oct. 2016, based on the one-year extension of the Green Card. We asked them about this and they said they go by one year from the receipt date printed on the extension letter, which was July 10, 2015 in our case. I asked them if that is correct because the letter extends the Green Card for one year from its expiration. They said they go by the extension letter's receipt date since that is the most current date they see...
So that had us confused, and I'm still not sure if that is correct. Did anyone else experience this?

They don't provide updates when biometrics are done. Only for interview scheduling ( if applicable), approval, card production and when card is mailed.

My wife had her biometrics done on August 11.
When I check the case status online it currently still states that our case was received on July 10.
I know the case status isn't always updated on time, but should you be able to see that your biometrics were received in the case status or is this something they don't provide an update for?

She can carry it or not. Did she carry her green card at all times?
She can also get an I-551 stamp in her passport if you're concerned about the paper.
Yes, she currently carries her green card in her wallet with her all the time.

What is the Receipt Notice Date printed on her NOA? you need to update her timeline on the list with that date! Thanks.
Already updated it! The date is 7/10/2015 and it's listed under my user name on the July 2015 Filers timeline since she's not on Visa Journey
As for carrying the receipt notice with her at all times, it is OK to carry a photocopy of it? I'm worried about it getting lost or ruined.

My wife received her NOA1 in the mail yesterday and we have a couple questions.
1. Does this extend her green card by one year from the expiration date of her green card or from the date of this letter?
2. Does she have to carry this letter with her at all times? She carries her green card with her at all times.

Thanks for your responses. I guess it comes down to what the IO is like.
Part of me is saying I should not include the US wedding photos, but part of me is saying it may be worth sending in one or two.
I guess I could highlight in the cover letter that we got married legally in Japan and then had a cerimonial wedding after my wife moved back to the US so the IO doesn't get confused.

I have kind of a unique question regarding photographs to submit along with the evidence for ROC.
My wife and I got married legally in Japan in Jan 2013. We did not have a big ceremony, just went to the local city hall and then had a very small reception with her immediate family in Japan a couple days later. This was all documented when I petitioned for her CR-1 visa.
After my wife moved to the US, in May 2014 we had a more traditional wedding and reception with our families and friends. This included the church, wedding dress, wedding reception hall, etc.
My question is if we include pictures from the May 2014 wedding, could that raise any questions with USCIS as to when we were really married? Maybe it's a dumb question, but something I've been thinking about.

We got the approval letter in the mail on Apr 25 with an approval date of Apr 21. On Apr 28, the case status on uscis.gov changed from "case received" to "card being produced" with a production date of Apr 27. Then on May 2, the status changed to "card mailed" and we received it the next day on May 3.
