  1. You were given that card in error, it's a mistake.

Send a I-90 (free) with the card to request a replacement due to USCIS error. This is VERY important. If you don't get it fixed you could run into issues come ROC time.

Send a copy of your marriage certificate, your visa, and the stamp in your passport proving you entered under 2 years of marriage and should have received a 2 year card.

I agree with you... Just disappointed about sending the card away just one day after I got it...

I just called USCIS but the operator didnt even know what a CR1 visa is... of course knew nothing about conditional green card either.

    Really professional!

  2. Hi everyone,

Thanks to all your help, I passed the interview and arrived at the US last month.

I just got my green card today, which is a YAY~!

But i also noticed that the expiry date on my card says 10 years later.

My husband and I got married last year so I was suppose to get a conditional gc.

And the catagory says CR1 as well.

Now it says 10 years... Anyone in the same situation with me?

    Thanks!

  3. well apparently the reason for that notice is becuz suspicious white powder was delivered in envelope to gz consulate on may 13th.

they need to investigate on the powder and hopefully they could reopen within a week.

  4. Just take your NOA2 and explain the situation. You shouldn't have any problem. My certificate took about 10 days to process.

    Thanks a lot!

I just called the JP police bureau too.

Just as you guys said, they said anything that can prove we are on the process of applying for an immigrant visa will work.

So NOA2 will absolutely be ok.

Hope this thread can help other people who are in the same situation.

  5. She doesn't need letter from NVC, at least not in my case. I just went to the Prefectural Police Headquarter, bring a print out of NOA2 and the print out from the US Embassy Tokyo webpage the processing section which enlist that one of the document I need to send to NVC is Police Record. They asked for a letter of request for the Police Record from the Embassy, and I explained to them that I didn't have any and before the Embassy got the case, I need the Police Record for the NVC in the US.

They were very nice and it took a bit of explanation from my part (with my limited Japanese) but in the end, they said it's OK, they took my fingerprint and they called me the next day and said the Police Certificate was ready for pick up.

It took a bit of an effort to ask their help and some explanation but in the end, they were very helpful. I am not even a Japanese national, so for your wife I am sure it will be even easier (at least she won't have a language barrier like I did;) )

    HI, TOHOKU,

I have been living in JP for 3 years and now I need to get the police certificate too.

But I just received the NOA2, and NVC hasn't sent me anything yet.

I guess similar situation with yours...

Since getting one outside JP would take longer time, I decided to take a trip to JP and get one there directly.

Did u just bring your NOA2 and some instructions downloadable from US embassy website, and they agreed to give you the certificate?

My travel visa to JP is time-limited, so I really want to get it done asap...

    Waiting for your reply~!!!!Thanks!!!

  6. He'll have to ask to be transferred to someone who can actually look at his case and answer his questions. They can't refuse you to be transferred. There'll be a wait on hold for a while 20-30 minutes or more and someone will answer, you know it is an ISO because they will refer to themselves as "Officer .....".

    I see!!!

so i guess the ISO means some kind of officer...

i will ask my husband to do what u suggest!

    thanks a lot!

  7. Hmm I saw that too when i looked last week but i thought it was a computer glitch after their last system maintenance. being that my case is not with them i did not think it further. very strange

    thanks for the reply!

at first, i thought its a glitch too but then i checked the processing time info for CSC which was updated last week,

a sheet showing processing timeframe in yellow and green color... which i guess is more stable and low-tech than the online checking system...

still, i-130 for USC filing for spouse is not on the list.

    thanks anyway!

  8. So far only cases with NOA1s on or after August 15th are being transferred. You are likely still at CSC.

Did your husband speak to an ISO or the just a customer service representative?

    thanks for the reply!

i am sorry but what does ISO stand for?

the person on the call told my husband that he knew no more than what my husband could get on the USCIS website.

    which was initial review.

    so i guess he's a hotline stuff?

how can we manage to talk to the ISO?

  9. Hi everyone!

My husband(USC) filed I-130 in August 2012 and the case went to California Service Center.

But later in September or so, there were so many cases reporting being transferred to local offices from CSC.

Our case wasnt one of them.

My husband call the USCIS hotline a couple of days ago, they said nothing about the transfer either.

However, the processing time on USCIS website(the always 5 months one) of I130 petition within CSC cannot be tracked any more.

    So my question are:

    1. Is CSC still processing I130 for alien spouse now?

if not, i guess our case has been transferred to some other local office already, why didnt they inform us?

    2. Any one who has the same experience with ours?

    3. We are planning to call them again ASAP, but what else can we do?

Thank you all for your time and patience.

English is not my first language, so forgive me if there is any misusage of words.

    Thanks!
