  1. I agree. When we filed I did not include a lease in both our names. Our application was approved and my husband is getting his ten year GC. I would submit pictures of you and your husband together along with location and date of when they were taken. Additionally, if you have letters and cards, where the date stamp is visible if possible, sent to you by his family or yours include that too.

  2. We sent in the packet on April 7th and received the NOA in May. My husband tried checking online with his case #, but could not. When he called he was told that his file information was entered wrong and online status unavaible. He has done his biometrics, in late May. Since then we have heard nothing.

VSC current process times say Feb. 1st 2009, however I am seeing March filers getting GC approved.

Should be we be concerned or just wait a while longer until the website shows VSC is processing April filers?

    Thanks!

  3. Hi,

My husband just had his biometrics this afternoon. The person taking his biometrics then told him his card was on its way, no specific day, but it would be coming.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I am skeptical to think this person knew what they were talking about. When my husband contact the Vermond office, they told him his application had been entered incorrectly. As a result, all the information was deleted, and he cannot track his application's status online.

    Thoughts? Comments?

    Thank you in advance.

  4. We filed on April 2nd (or so) and received the NOA1 on April 10th. Very relieved to have that in hand. From reading posts, I guess the wait on Vermont starts.

I noticed some folks contacted their senator if nothing happens after a while, generally, what is the time limit before one does that? Ten months or longer?

Best to everyone stuck in this process.

  5. Hi Everyone,

We are filing at the end of this month when the GC expires. We also have a trip coming up to my husband's country in late June. We've already purchased the tickets and have an itinerary. Does anyone recommend including itinerary as evidence, it has both our names on it? And hoping the NOA1 comes in times in time for the departure in late June.

    Thank you in advance!

  6. Hello Everyone,

We are filing for our Conditions Lifting in April and we live in NYC. The documentation we are submitting is of our joint checking, filed joint taxes, travel itineraries, letters/cards with envelopes (with date highlighted) we've received at our home. Does this sound like enough or could we still get a RFE. We were not thinking of having friends or family write letters, has anyone submitted just this documentation, but received a RFE requesting letters from family or friends testifying a relationship/marriage . Any thoughts?

Also, about how long after you file does the NOA1 come that permits travel outside of the US?

Many thanks for your help, insights, and wisdom.

    April

  7. Hello Everyone,

My husband and I were Married on March 30th, applied for the SS Card on April 10th. When we went in they found out that the POE at JFK had misspelled my husband's name, and that this would hold up his card, it would be six to eight weeks we were told. It's now been longer than that, and when he talked to the SS office they said they were still waiting on his status with immigration.

We are in NY, can anyone tell from their experience if this is normal?

    Thanks!

  8. Do they require at the interview to see the taxes for three years, even if the taxes submitted on the form were above the poverty level? I read someone said that their husband did not make enough for three years, and was told they needed a co-sponsor. I made enough in 2006, but I was in Peace Corps for the other two years, and didn't make enough. I hope this will not be an issue.

    Thanks!
