Hi,
My husband apparently has lost his passport and his ten year green card, which he just received in September. Does anyone have any advice about what we should do now?
Thank you.
-
I agree. When we filed I did not include a lease in both our names. Our application was approved and my husband is getting his ten year GC. I would submit pictures of you and your husband together along with location and date of when they were taken. Additionally, if you have letters and cards, where the date stamp is visible if possible, sent to you by his family or yours include that too.

Today we received the letter, dated 8/25/09, that the card production was ordered!! Now we wait to see how long it take Vermont to produce the card

We sent in the packet on April 7th and received the NOA in May. My husband tried checking online with his case #, but could not. When he called he was told that his file information was entered wrong and online status unavaible. He has done his biometrics, in late May. Since then we have heard nothing.
VSC current process times say Feb. 1st 2009, however I am seeing March filers getting GC approved.
Should be we be concerned or just wait a while longer until the website shows VSC is processing April filers?
Thanks!

Is anyone who filed in April able to view their application progress online? Or was told they could not?

Hi,
My husband just had his biometrics this afternoon. The person taking his biometrics then told him his card was on its way, no specific day, but it would be coming.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
I am skeptical to think this person knew what they were talking about. When my husband contact the Vermond office, they told him his application had been entered incorrectly. As a result, all the information was deleted, and he cannot track his application's status online.
Thoughts? Comments?
Thank you in advance.

What does RD stand for?
Refer to above website, when you see the date posted is past your RD, you can start to send in inquiry.

The check was cashed around April 6th or 7th.

We filed on April 2nd (or so) and received the NOA1 on April 10th. Very relieved to have that in hand. From reading posts, I guess the wait on Vermont starts.
I noticed some folks contacted their senator if nothing happens after a while, generally, what is the time limit before one does that? Ten months or longer?
Best to everyone stuck in this process.

Hi Everyone,
We are filing at the end of this month when the GC expires. We also have a trip coming up to my husband's country in late June. We've already purchased the tickets and have an itinerary. Does anyone recommend including itinerary as evidence, it has both our names on it? And hoping the NOA1 comes in times in time for the departure in late June.
Thank you in advance!

Hello Everyone,
We are filing for our Conditions Lifting in April and we live in NYC. The documentation we are submitting is of our joint checking, filed joint taxes, travel itineraries, letters/cards with envelopes (with date highlighted) we've received at our home. Does this sound like enough or could we still get a RFE. We were not thinking of having friends or family write letters, has anyone submitted just this documentation, but received a RFE requesting letters from family or friends testifying a relationship/marriage . Any thoughts?
Also, about how long after you file does the NOA1 come that permits travel outside of the US?
Many thanks for your help, insights, and wisdom.

Hi everyone,
We are filing our status lifting in April, but would like to travel back to see hubby's family in August of 2009. Is travel possible in the wait time after one files? If it is, and my husband could travel using the I-797C Notice of Action, what is the current wait time for this paper in NYC?
Thank you for your help!

Hi guys,
My husband's two year green card expires in June of 2009, and we'll apply for lifting of conditions. I know that he will receive the extension for one year, but does anyone have advice about whether travel during this year long wait outside the US is okay.
Thanks!

Yes they are, we put them inside the box, and we've been getting mail where we live regularly, but we've never tried to get certified mail. I have no idea how they send the green card out.

My husband's green card was deemed undeliverable for some odd reason, he found this out when he went to check his status online. Weird thing is we've been getting all the other mail from the gov up until this point. We live an an apartment building that does have buzzers.
Does anyone have tips or a similar experience?
Thanks!

Just wanted to share that we got the card! Less than a year from K1 file to getting green card. The Lord is good.

Try this guy, knew what he was doing, did it correctly, only charged $60 for the vaccination sheet, reasonable for NYC.

Hello Everyone,
My husband and I were Married on March 30th, applied for the SS Card on April 10th. When we went in they found out that the POE at JFK had misspelled my husband's name, and that this would hold up his card, it would be six to eight weeks we were told. It's now been longer than that, and when he talked to the SS office they said they were still waiting on his status with immigration.
We are in NY, can anyone tell from their experience if this is normal?
Thanks!

Has anyone done this?

I am filing as the sponsor for the I-864, and did the same when we filed for the K1. But with the K1 one I did not have to file the I-864. Does anyone think it will pose an issue that I did not make above the poverty level for my other two tax years as I was a Peace Corps Volunteer?
Thanks!

Does anyone know what or where the Alien Registration Number can be found on the visa or other paperwork?
Thanks!

Need some help here...I filed for my fiance, the k1, and know I am filling out the I-864, and I am in Part 1 where I need to check a-f, and I don't know which one to choose 'cause the K1 petition is not listed in the option for box a.
Thanks!

Do they require at the interview to see the taxes for three years, even if the taxes submitted on the form were above the poverty level? I read someone said that their husband did not make enough for three years, and was told they needed a co-sponsor. I made enough in 2006, but I was in Peace Corps for the other two years, and didn't make enough. I hope this will not be an issue.
Thanks!

I saw someone mention that they were going to include evidence of a valid marriage in their AOS packet, is it necessary? How many people have done this, and if not, did it impact the approval?
I sort of thought that type of stuff would be addressed in an interview.
Gracias!
