I just called NVC and there is a recordign saying "Assistance not available at this time..." I have never heard this before - anybody knows what is going on? Maybe they blocked my number because i call them every day Seriously - does anybody know?

I sure do, i called them everyday. after 16 days, they said my case was completed and then two weeks later i got an email saying they have scheduled my interview. Below is my timeline:

DS-230 Sent - Sept 12

DS-230 Delivered to NVC - Sept 16

Case Completed - Sept27

Interview letter email notification receieved - Oct 4th

Just call them everyday to keep up with them. One day they will pick up your call and tell you that your case has been completed and is in queue for interview scheduling. If your case is completed in Nov then you will be given interview date for Jan 2013

my ds-230 took 12 calendar days to be reviewed (i am counting from reception, not sending, and I am basing approval date on the false checklist i recieved for my AOS package).

i have sent mine 13 days ago and called NVC yesterday, I was told to give some 20 days before my case can be completed so I will check back next week, I think you should call NVC, they complete cases much faster than the time limit of 20 days depending on the country of the beneficiary.

What does "Receive Instruction Package" on my Timeline mean? And also - Timeline does not list Sending package IV, it says paying IV fee but not sending the package. Am I misunderstanding or is it wrong. Please help!

Mine is pretty close too. I emailed my DS-3032 and sent the package about a week ago. I just called the NVC and they haven't reviewed/approved either one of these.

How long does it take to get the actual Visa after you are approved? Let's say your embassy interview goes well, we get approved and all - how soon can you actually buy a ticket and come to the U.S. I am assuming that you don't walk out with your Visa on the interview day. Thanks in advance!

Can the interview at the embassy be scheduled ahead of time ... I mean ahead of the NVC approval. If it takes 3 months to schedule an interview in Bosnia i think it would be safe for me to say that the NVC part will be completed by then. What do you guys think?

Well then....I guess maybe it won't be a concern if we sent in just 1 photo of petitioner and 1 photo of beneficiary.

I think qualify for the I-864 but wanted to check with your guys. I am sponsoring my husband only and my salary is above the poverty line. I should be able to use the I-864 right? Would putting more assets on top this help or they pretty much don't care as long as you are above the poverty line? What do you think?

The $230 fee is invoiced after the DS-3032 has been accepted and added to the casefile. Once that fee appears as PAID, you can then send the IV package.

Just this morning I received two emails from NVC. One stating my case number and Invoice # and second asking me for $88. I paid the fee and I will email the DS3032 form tonight - what do I do after that? Will they send me another request for Affidavit of Support? When do I pay the second fee (more expensive one)? Please help!

That's correct. I submitted the I-129F and included a copy of the I-130 NOA1 with it. Does anybody know if my NVC process will be different now from the regular husband/wife I-130 application? Thanks!

Last night, around 11:45 pm CT received a text saying my app was updated... checked it out online and found out that it was approved. To my big surprise it was the 129F app and not the main 130 app. When I mailed the I129F app i thought it may speed up the process and even if it does not speed up the process I did not think it could hurt anything. Later, I learned from this web site that it actually appeared like it delayed the process for some people, but most people said that it would be processed and approved at the same time. It did not happen for me.

so to make the long story short, this whole time I was preparing for the I130 to be approved and not the I129. Anyway, I am very happy and excited but I need to see now what I need to do and what docs i need to have for the I-129 app. Please help! Thanks!
