  1. So,how long was you in AP after you sent in the CCP E-Mail? Was there a 2nd Interview or did they just ask to have the Passport Mailed to them?

March 12th 2013 Teresa was interview when they moved us into Admin processing

October - I emailed the government asking for further details - they emailed me back, stating only Teresa could ask

    <Teresa never contacted them>

November Security clearance was granted - but doctor exam was needed again <it had expired>

    January did doctor exam

    February got Visa

May 13th, drove with Teresa from Vancouver Canada, into the US.

    June 8th 2014 - we're getting married.

  2. Knowing the status won't make it faster, anyway. They probably won't be allowed to tell you what they're looking into or why (for security reasons, as mentioned above) and even if they did - what are you going to do about whatever the reason is?

99.9% sure we hit AP because she is/was a communist party member; and that's a category that requires AP.

Per the gov't notes; if a person hasn't been a member in the past 2 years; then AP isn't needed.

What I'm wondering is, are they actually doing an investigation which - once finished and passes - they'll grant clearance.

Or - is the investigation aspect complete - but they're going to wait out the 2 year timeframe, and then they'll approve us.

Obviously, the gov't hasn't answer my question on if I need to wait two years, as that requires them to admit AP was for communism.

So hoping I can deduce what's going on - and if needed, get married overseas, and then apply for a CR-1 instead. With a CR-1 communist party membership isn't a concern.

  3. Our case has been in Administrative Processing for a while; and it doesn't feel like the government is working on it.

I'm curious what the government is doing/has done, and would like to know more.

Has anyone submitted a FOIA request (aka form G-639) to find out what is happening with their case? What type of information did the government send back?

  4. FYI - we've been in AP forever too; so I'll be filling out Form G-639. I'd like to know exactly what the government is doing (or not doing) on my case. Curious if I'm merely in line; or if they're active working/waiting for details.

  5. AP for a K-1 in Pakistan compared to a K-1 in China would normally be for different reasons.

AP for CCP affiliation, did she terminate her membership?

My wife traveled outside the country before she was issued her K-1 and her AP was only 15 days but she was not a CCP member.

Why do you think they are focusing on KL and Dubai?

She terminated in Jan of this year, and admitted in the interview she had been a member. We knew that would place us into AP; but for it have been this long since they'll need to be doing more than looking at just her time in China. She's only lived in Gonzhou and her college city within China.

  6. Fiancee is a Chinese citizen, who's been stuck in AP for ~6 months.

    My guess...

Fell into AP because she is/was a member of the Communist party (this is a known catch; which we also knew about).

Then, unlike other Chinese citizens - she's visited other places in the world - London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.

And so the US government is investigating her presence in all 5 nations she's visited in her life, paying special attention to Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.

    Thoughts? Disagree or agree?

If true - than others who have visited outside their home country will also see longer than normal AP times.
