  1. yes i did get married in the 90 days. Im looking at the print out sheets of I-94. On the top right corner it has a OMB number and Expiration date number that says 11/30/2014. Is that the expiration date or is it still the date next to admit until. So if it is expired does it make any difference? What changes say if I filed this before the expiration or after? Could i just date the paperwork before expiration date?

  2. My wife came here on k1 visa and we got married withing the 90 day period. we are now doing all the AOS paperwork and some question ask her maiden name and other says family name. For example on form I-894 part 2 ask her family name. Do i put her last name or my last name? We want to have my last name but techincally we have not changed her last name to mine through Social Security. I called USCIS and they said use her last name? I thought I should fill out the paperwork as much as possible with my last name? Confused.

  3. My wife is here on k1 visa and im diong her AOS paperwork and this does not make sense to me this part. questions 1,2,3 ask you to put a number. So far i put a 1 next to all 3 quetions. Now in the end is says count up total number which would be 3 and that would be household size. Its just me and her which is 2. It also says dont count any one twice. What do I put next to those 3 questions?

    1.enter the number you entered on line 7 part 3=1

    2.yourself=1

    3.if you are currently married=1

    that totals 3 but i am married and in the example form it shows they put 0 next to quetions 3. do i put 0? Thanks!

  4. ok thank you so much for that explanation. I am a litte unclear with some stuff but here is an update. My wife went to social security to change her last name. They said they can not do that because her I-94 expired?! What does this mean? what do we do? Can I still send all the AOS paper work in my last MARRIED name or what? Does she need her social security card changed before I send this AOS paperwork in? Also they said something about renewing the i-94? Please help again thanks!

  5. My now wife came here on a k1 visa and we just got married 2 weeks ago. We are starting all the paperwork for the AOS. what last name do we use? my last name or her last names? We do plan on changing her last name to mine. She has a social security number when she was here as an au pair in american but has her last name. Can we change her last name before she gets her green card? confused help!

  6. It’s been awhile but my girl finally came home from brazil about a month ago! So we are getting married in October which will be within the 90 days to get married. I have a couple of questions about this 90 day period. The 90 days to get married starts when she arrives in the USA correct? Also, do we have to file our paperwork before the 90 days or just get married? Does it matter when we file the paper work which is the permanent residence I guess? Thanks guys.

  7. What a journey it has been, we started this process back in july of 2012 and our k1 visa interview in Rio was approved. I really could not have got to where I am today without this website and people to guide me. Trust in god and fate will reward you with the most ultimate gift of all, love. Some advice for people going to RIO. Get there early our apointment was at 715, we got in line at 6am. We were third in line and it quickly grew as time went on. We got brought into this room with about 30 chairs in there and sat. About 20 mins later this guy who worked there called each number in order that you arrived there to make sure you have all your papers in order. Then we waited another 20 mins and got called up to give all the paperwork to the guy behind he glass. Then about another 20 mins we got called for the actually interview. Now I did go to the interview with her because i heard it helps alot. IT HELPS ALOT!haha... She was a very nice lady, she basically took our information and did not even ask us many questions. All she asked was for us to tell her about our relationship! This lasted about 5min and she smiled and said congrats! She did not bother to look at any of our evidence or original I129-f package. Amazing how one year of stress and waiting came down to a 5 min pretty much a joke interview! In conclusion try to relax, if you have a legit relationship you will be fine! My honest thoughts are if you get approved from USCIS you pretty much have smooth sailing. Thanks again for everyones help and god bless!

  8. Well im headed to brazil to go with my girl to the interview. Nervous as can be and hope everything goes smoothly. I am bringing all my paperwork but have a question. Who fills out the sworn statement ? Would that be me the US resident or my fiancee in brazil? Also all this paperwork, like copy of k1 pacakage that i sent, bank statements do they actually collect everything or just look at it? Or only collect a few papers? Also how did you guys put all your paperwork together, binder folders? I put everything in a 3 ring binger in sleeves. Thanks guys!

  9. So NVC sent the package to rio and rio has our case. We are getting closer to the big day. Any experiences with people that went to this embassy and how it was? I checked embessy reviews but there old and not many reviews. How was it? Were they kind and pretty fast and easy to get approved? Also about how long did it take once Rio received your case till interview? Also i notice they dont send packet 3 anymore, how does she find out when medical and interview is? Any information and tips would be great. Thanks!!
