  1. Just got this email , thought I would pass on the info ,

    Dear all-

Because of the US federal government shutdown, several agencies, including some with immigration functions, are closed or may be impacted. USCIS will continue to adjudicate petitions. However, the Department of Labor will not adjudicate LCAs and PERM applications, which are required for several immigration benefits. Therefore, there may be some delays when requesting an immigration benefit. These delays will continue until the relevant offices open again.

If you plan on traveling internationally and require a new US visa to re-enter the country, please contact the consulate where you intend to apply to confirm your application can be received and a visa can be issued.

  2. On September 14, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

This one is under , the case statues for the I-485 and the Card document one is checked production, When I went and checked on the employment and travel one , it hasnt changed its statues. Does this mean his green card is approved and on its way , or it will be the employment auth?

It looks like he will be getting his green card just checked and this is what it says , with the decision part marked ,

On September 16, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

  3. There doesn't seem to be any apparent order whatsoever.

My AOS was approved on the 6th of September without an interview, only two days after my EAD was finally approved on day 81 which at that point was about 2 weeks longer than the average on VJ. I was expecting to wait another 6-9 months like you, HK12. Even though I am extremely happy (and lucky, I know), I wish that they processed the same application at the same pace everywhere in the country. But unfortunately, as everybody here knows, that is just wishful thinking.

Good luck to all of you still waiting!

Edit: Congrats to you BKelly, I was just as surprised as you. At first I actually thought it might have been a mistake, that they had actually meant to send me an RFE notice or something like that. A couple of days later I received the welcome letter and I guess that's when I realized that it was really true. Consider yourself very lucky!

Thanks so much for the congrats , same to yall , it would be nice if everyone's moved this fast. But then again we have not received the mail yet aka welcome letter nor anything else . fingers crossed its not a system or case issue. We shall see. Good luck to all those waiting ill let yall know if it indeed is the green card , at any rate the ead would be nice to . But if it is the GC so much stress taken off at least until 90 days before the 2 year is up .

  4. You did not have an interview, did you?

I am really happy for you, but I just can't help but wonder what order the NBC processes our applications in. Is there ANY kind of order at all? I have been waiting for more than six months and was just told by them that I might have to wait another six months because I am one of the "lucky" interview waiver cases. We all pay the same amount of money, so why do some have to wait so long, while others get approved within a few weeks? Just doesn't seem fair...

No interview , he did however go to the service center , im assuming this would have been the same place for interview , and the women that did his fingerprints and such , was at the door when we all got out and he headed to the door , she seen us all , the baby , my 5 year old and me and of course him. Weather this had a bearing ive no idea ... The kids and I however did not go in . We headed across the street to the River and park. We did wait for a year for the first process to go through. We figured we would get the employment auth and such , at the end of this month , not the whole green card , figured we would be in for at least a 9 month wait, as do others , from what I understand its a 50/50 chance of an interview. They say its by case by case basis . I agree it should run faster then it does . I really feel for yall and hope you guys get yours soon! Im just hoping its not a system glitch , or they have messed up our case.

  5. Yes, I got the same update you did, dated 4th September. On 9th Sept I got a welcome letter and on 11th Sept my green card arrived in the mail! It seems to be fairly standard, I received my EAD 7 days after approval and also my AP (applied separately) on the 7th day after approval.

    I'd say you're good to go smile.png

Thanks! And that is some awesome news! Now watching the mail like a hawk !

  6. I got the same update 10 days ago, then my case status changed to 'decision', the next day. One status talked about the card coming within 30 days, the 2nd update said 60. Either way, Sept 14th is your date of approval. My card came 7 days after that date. Hope that puts your mind at ease a little smile.png

I just cant believe how fast that is! Im assuming you got a welcome letter in the mail? If so then we will know for sure. Im just in shock still . I even went and made sure the number was not put in incorrectly lmao. and Grats to yall :)

  8. hi fellows. i need some help regarding my case. I arrived here in US under K1 visa. At POE the immigration officer asked for my passport and kit. He just asked me some questions , did a fingerprint and just wrote F1 on my visa page but did make a stamp on my passport which I did not notice because it is my first time to enter US.He just advised me to check the website for my I-94 if i want to get my social security. When I went to Social Security Office a few days ago to file and get my SSN, they were looking for the stamp which I just noticed that time. Would this be a major problem for me in my adjustment of status?. Anybody who experienced this one? Can anybody give me advices on this one. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Go to the web sight and print off your I-94 and use the printed one. Get several copies of it, youll need it , for ss and other things also for your AOS.

  9. I just got our packet sent back to us because the check for $1070 was the "wrong amount." We are on our honeymoon and have no idea what went wrong. All of our records are on the computer at home so I can't even investigate until Friday. I now see that people have recommended sending the biometric fee in a separate check. Why is this info not given in the AOS info? This is setting us back at least a month.

Mine was just cashed today and my check was for the amount of 1070$ To the Department of homeland security . Very weird...

  10. Did you see this answer from yesterday? http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/439062-i-693-clarification/?p=6338622

Discusses MMR specifically if you scroll down a bit.

Yes! I saw that after a bit of searching, it was very helpful , I think its easy to get overwhelmed by all this stuff and just give up and ask lol , I'm almost done with the packet and hope to send it off soon , was going to wait till next week due to the 4th .

  11. Hi, I have a question , as I understand it we will not have to fill out Form I-693 based on the fact we have the form DS-3025 and it is within the year from medical for k1 , it is however missing the 2nd mmr vaccine , but that vaccine was given by his regular doctor after the medical , he has a stamped receipt for it . Also the box on DS-3025 has been ticked incomplete for vaccinations but the waiver box was checked . Will we have to fill out form I-693 or can we submit the stamped receipt along with form DS-3025 with explanation ?

Never mind guys found an old post with this answer , took a bit to find .

  13. I'm Filling in the new updated I-131 form I have a few questions .

I'm assuming we have no A# at this time , K1 Visa.

Under Part 3 processing info , it asks for date of departure and expected length of trip , it will not let me put unknown . It only lets me put numbers in. What should I put for this area? As we do not know if or when he may travel.

Next question , it says skip to part 7 if non DACA , but part 4 information about personal travel .

1.a purpose of trip and 1.b the destination to country ... Should I fill this in or leave blank?

Part 7 complete only if applying for advance parole , on a separate sheet of paper explain how you qualify .

    1. How many trips .

I do not know at this time how many trips if any , would I click multiple?

Thanks So much for any help, just getting frustrated!

  14. With the interview behind us, we're looking at the next challenges.

How do you handle health insurance between the time the beneficiary enters the country and the time you get married? I think most folks rely on employer based insurance. I believe you will need to be married before you can put your fiance on the company insurance, and there may be an additional waiting period after you sign up.

I'm self employed, so that creates a whole different set of problems. I've been calling around and nobody wants to even enroll her.

Just curious how others are handling this issue.

After our marriage , took the marriage certificate and his ss card in and added him to my insurance through my place of work. Getting married was the only way he could have gotten health coverage through my work , needed both documents stated above and it goes into affect July the 1st. Before he would just purchase travel insurance.

  15. People have mentioned sending affidavits with their I-129F for the section of "proof that they've met in the past 2 years", which i agree is a good idea because it helps as a witness of others having met us together. Is there a link someone can send me for filling out affidavits? There are many online, but I'm looking for what you guys have used. Thanks a lot! (we're having to submit more info as we recieved as RFE)

I sent 2 of them one from my mother and one from my sister complete with their numbers of phone contact incase they would like to call and verify , and also had them get it notarized. If they even took them into evidence I have no idea . But figured it couldn't hurt , Just go with your instincts and what you feel would be best in your case.

  16. #11 of i-134 asks whether I intend or not intend "to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3. --- I assume I should check that I intend to do so. Later, it says that if you intend to support the individual named in item 3, "indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions." Do I need to say that I will support room and board and how much money I will give and for how long??? How did you all deal with it?

    Thanks!

You would check intend if your sponsoring , and I put this on mine for question 11 , I-129F Fiance Visa as pertains to the law , whatever support will be needed.

  17. Sorry for the double post . Not sure what happened there .

They should be able to get your fiance a SSN on his K-1 only. Consider going to the SSO in person. If they still refuse to issue him a SSN, get him a ITIN instead. You can do it at the SSO. The ITIN is a SSN-like number he can use as he would a SS until he gets his SS card.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the advice!
