The eMail responses:
The visa unit says separate appointments. And the Consular Office says both should come on the same appointment.
Since the Consular Office does the interviews - we are going with that and let them send the paperwork down. I'll update this in a week after the interview to say whether it blew up or not.
-
I guess I should ask a question that I am unsure of.
"Support@UStraveldocs" (i.e. immigrant visa unit) is or is not actually a part of the embassy?
I found out a few minutes ago that they told her she could bring her daughter if she wished to her interview, and see if they would let her in based on her mothers original appointment.
But no guarantees.
Otherwise I will push this to the consular unit. Just unfortunate. They tend not to answer for 2-3 business days and we may have to make a call on the travel reservations before they reply.

And at this point in the process I am not saying the confused one is not me.
I thought this was set up just the way that the forums, the guides, and even DoS said but maybe not.
Scheduled the interview with the embassy for my Fiancee and child (14yr). Her daugher was listed as additional applicant/family.
16 days later the Embassy says "no, the child must have their own traveldocs account"
Along with this change they removed her daughter from her appointment and then said - "you need to make a separate appointment to come in with your daughter"
So US Embassy - Moscow is now saying that children need a separate appointment from their parent. I have not seen anything that required this. And the next appointments are of course at least a month later than my Fiancee's current appointment.
Did I totally miss something when we were scheduling the interview?

First, congratulations on getting to this point and welcome to the Forums. The adventure begins here.....
1. You could, but I believe using the license to get married would be a violation of her B Visa and would not look good in the future application.
2. You could file while she was here, and starting it now would get the forms she has to sign done without using UPS/FedEx. But one way or another she will have to go back before it is done.
3. You can apply while she has her B visa. My Fiancee kept hers while we have been waiting.
4. The guides and checklists on this site are very good. Read them and they will coach you through the process. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide
If you run into specific questions there are usually some members around who can at least point you in the right direction.

Just to update. They did track it. And as I suspected - washed their hands of it.
DHL delivered on Labour Day. To an unwatched box since the Embassy was closed. So it is the Embassy's problem.
Now to figure out how to get them to find something they deny having.....
-
Well NVC did track it and came up with the same answer that I did.
DHL delivered on the holiday to a box.....? No signature as the embassy was closed.
So NVC has washed their hands, and said it is delivered. Up to us to get the embassy to somehow find it even though they deny they received it.
-
The problem you are missing is that this package with at least two applications in it was basically lost between NVC and the Embassy. As wherever DHL stuffed it, the Embassy did not get it (confirmed by the Embassy).
NVC has to do the tracking as they are the package originator.

Ask for a Supervisor. The frontline person told me this morning "I don't think we do that" I pushed a little bit and she put me on hold for a few minutes and then told me to call back to see if there was an update this afternoon.
-
Yes. I have tracked it. It arrived, and was not signed for. "Left Ltr Box" is DHL's notation.
I will say it takes some pushing to get past the front line at the NVC to get someone to even discuss that. They kept wanting to tell me "we don't do that"
-
We have the exact same problem (with that same delivery....)
You need to call the NVC 603.334.0700 and ask to talk to a supervisor. Once you get them you need to ask them to put a trace on the package.
According to the DHL tracking I have it was "Left Ltr Box" So no one signed for it.

Actually I would normally think that. Except when I look at anyone else's timeline they have receipt by the embassy in 2-4 days. It's why I don't buy the backlogged argument as I can run down the results here on VJ and find the entries all around mine that took 2 days and already have their packets in hand a week later.
Makes me much more suspicious that it is lost as opposed to anything else.
-
what do you do?
Looking for suggestions if anyone has them....
NVC sent the package to the embassy 3 weeks ago. But the Embassy "does not have the paperwork".
NVC is washing their hands saying 'we sent it' Embassy won't talk to us until they 'receive the paperwork'

You are calling this number: Из других стран: (095)-258-2525, 1-888-222-5673. Оплата только по кредитным картам. Стоимость звонка $1.75 в минуту. Several times a day to schedule? Our paperwork arrived in Moscow today and if we have to call several times a day to get this scheduled it could take a bit as it is difficult for me to break away to make phone calls.

Officially at the six month mark today at CSC and no word. I thought CSC was supposed to be fast or did they just skip mine.
No. CSC has been slowing down. Mine went there and took 6 months to the day..... Of course they also cleared it the day after receiving a call from the Senators office.... so we can hope yours will be soon!
-
Congratulations! It does seem like a long time. But well worth it!
-
We were able to request it at the end of June and got it mid July with no problems from the Ministry in Udmurtia. The NOA2 has been the difficult document to obtain......
-
I hope so, they've done alot today on the ones ending 9300's and I'm in the 9400's so it's getting close. I think this is the hardest part, when you see the ones around you with movement, but you are still waiting. LOL
But there is movement!! Instead of the glacial ice lockup that was the past few weeks. So there is encouragement and hope! You will make it over the waterfall soon!
-
It seems like they are pushing through some approvals (at least from CSC) Our I-129F had a receipt of 2/6 and they approved it today. Got the text while I was writing her tonight. Made for a good start for her work day at least!
Congrats, Gavin + Heather!
There was also an approval from my day (received 2/21) today!
Would anyone else like to share the receipt #s you're monitoring? Of course, if we do that, then we could end up posting duplicate reports for the same petitions, but I guess that wouldn't be a horrible thing. I'd really like to add some more to my list, particularly from mid-February and later. I have some from another VJer (thanks, Kattze!), so that brings the collection I'm monitoring to:
Feb. 1 [note: receipt date, not NOA1 date] (27 petitions)
Feb. 2 (75)
Feb. 3 (13)
Feb. 6 (24)
Feb. 13 (31)
Feb. 21 (215)
No approvals or RFEs in any of these today except for the 2/21 one I mentioned above. Grrr.
New procedures for children?
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
Visa's were approved. One interview under what has been the standard procedure (child(ren) accompany the parent).
So take it as a warning - when you call or write to the visa support desk (UStraveldocs). They may not know what they are doing.
